@Gregory Andre Marinkovich Pope Francis revised the CCC in 2018. Only paragraph changed, on capital punishment. You can see the official Vatican notice of the revision here:

What do people think about the change? Does anyone know if there was a Synod or other Church council that led to it?
It better reflects the teachings of the United States Council of Catholic Bishop's documents of 1983 which is what I believed to be the Church's position. (personal opinion only); it is inappropriate to discuss the theology of the change. The catechism is rarely the concern of a church council.
