I'm having the same problem... I keep getting connection errors. No content whatsoever. I tried to reinstall the application but that didn't work either. I'm sure its a minor issue. But this is a great example of why offline content was such a good idea. Now if we can just get to the content in the first place so I can store it on my phone.

It is good to see that I'm not alone in this, and I can stop doing software QA testing on my iPhone [;)]. I've done the same as all of you guys and no joy, thing is I also have it on my iPod touch and it has not had this occur yet.

To get your books, you have to be connected to the internet via wifi or your carrier. You then need to download the titles you want. This takes some time. I have updated the original post to clarify how this process works. Once you have completed the download, you can then view your titles offline.
Hope that helps.

I'm having the same problem on two iPod Touches. I'm guessing the server is down. We'll look into it first thing in the morning (if not sooner) and get it corrected.

Thanks for the update Phil!

I'm having the same problem on two iPod Touches.
For sake of diagnosis, I'm using an iPhone 3GS and have no problems.

To help the debug effort, I had it working initially on my iphone 3G then the error couldn't load book appeared and then no library reading plans etc. On the other hand I have it on my ipod touch as well and have not had any problems yet. Hope this input helps you guys figure out the problem.

Are you in airplane mode, or not? Here are my steps:
1. Download books.
2. Turn on airplane mode.
3. Launch Logos (getting this warning)
4. I then click on my library, and can see the books I downloaded.
7. I can then read these two books.
8. Turning airplane mode off, I can then interact with the app as usual.
Hope this helps. If not, as Phil said, we'll get on this first thing in the morning.

I'm thankful it's not just me. I was having the same problem in my 3GS and tried the signing out and back in, uninstalling and reinstalling.

It's not just you, Karen. Same problem on my ipod touch here in France. Phil's probably right: maybe the server is down. I've got nothing whatsoever showing up in my library. Maybe our friends need a good night's sleep. They've been working hard [;)].

Hi all, I am in the Philippines right now, I could access all the books and downloaded a few into my iphone 3GS.

I am in New Zealand and have no books as well after the upgrade. The cleaner must have forgot to replug in the server in at the power point after Vacuuming the room out. It is hard to find good cleaning staff.

I'm the Philippines as well, no books for me. [:(]

I've got the same problem. I'm not sure the server is down. I can read one book (the last one I was reading before I upgraded). Scrolling through it works, except I often get messages saying it can't connect to the server. Yet when I click OK, I can continue.

An update: Switching WiFi off gave me access to all my books again. With WiFi on, I have no access. I very much doubt this is a firewall issue, as I had no problems with 1.1

I have a 2 Gen iPod Touch 3.0 firmware, and after updating to Logos 1.2, I have no books at all in my library now at all (online or offline). I'm off to work now so I hope there will be something fixed by the time I get home (I was really looking forward to having my books with me at work today!)

PS: Even my reading plans are gone, too. Sure hope it's just a server problem (i.e. too many people downloading their books at once!)

I'll confirm that I have to have Wi-Fi disabled on my phone to see any books in my library. Once I have downloaded books, I can then enable Wi-Fi and see my downloaded books, but still can't see any other books in my library.

It's not a server problem, it's a bug in the software. It won't use your WiFi connection to download. Once they fix the bug, all your resources and reading plans will come back. (If you had an iPhone you could switch WiFi off to 'solve' the problem, but that of course won't work with an iPod.)

It's strange, I can access all resources on WiFi, and download a few and read offline too. iphone 3GS.

I updated to the Logos iPhone 1.2 app this morning ~7:30am. When I opened the app it showed no books in either "library" or "recent books." I tried signing out and back in to no avail. I also tried turning wi-fi off and reopening the program and still no books.
I'm really excited on getting off-line access - being able to have off-line access to just one modern english translation will make this a 5-star app for me.
I should say that I'm a US - iPhone 3gs user.

I should add that I am on international roaming right now and have data roaming off, so it means I am only accessing with WiFi. Perhaps the app works only if there is only one data connection and not both phone network and WiFi???

Weird. No, putting my device into flight mode, and then turning WiFi on, still results in no online access. Ditto for switching to an unavailable cellular network.

I too have tried the various suggestions posted here. I don't think this has anything to do with offline mode unless the app is somehow stuck in offline mode. Connectivity type (Wifi, 3G) makes no difference here... I tried reinstalling like Jason and I got the error message "error loading book" even before signing in. I have no books in my library no matter how I connect... this is going to be really annoying if I've lost use of the app until Logos gets the next update through apple's approval process

Well, it's a good time for us to go back to James 1 : Consider it all joy, my brethren...

I do not add a posting here to heap coals on the heads of the Logos team, but rather to share my own experience in hopes that this assists with troubleshooting.
Last night (11PM ET?) I could at least check my reading plan, and read the NASB95. No apparent problems. This morning, no reading plans (just the Christmas Specials topic). No books.
I checked the forums and noticed the upgrade to Logos 1.2 on the iPod/iPhone, so I installed that. It seems to have gotten worse.
"Read" takes me to a fragment of Genesis (where I was reading a few days ago) but once I try to page beyond where I was reading I get the "loading" dial-spin (I don't know what this icon is really called, but I hope you understand what I mean) and a message that the resource could not be loaded, then a white screen for a short while, followed by an automatic exit from the App (abend?). Search yields no results, etc. There is 'no there there' as they say.
My device is an iPod Touch, 32GB, running 3.1.2 (7D11) of the iPhone/Touch operating system. My connections are always via WiFi.
I look forward to the resolution so I can once again have this fine addition to my 'armor'.
God bless,
Steve

Let me clarify. I am not speaking of an issue with downloading and looking at books offline. There are no books in my library at all, whether using WiFi or 3G.
I am not complaining, I have no room to. This is a free app, which gives me the advantage of viewing some (alot!) of my library while on the run. It is a perk to being a part of the whole Logos community.
The only reason I posted was to make sure that I wasn't the only one experiencing this.
Thanks to all for confirming this is a seemingly broad issue. Seems like it's up to Logos (& possibly Apple) to help us get through this one. [:)]

I too was having the same problem of not being able to access my books last night and this morning - and this is on the non-upgraded version (I think I have 1.0 or 1.1 or something like that). I just upgraded to the 1.2 - hoping it was a fix, but the problem is still there.
Because this error seems widespread and not version specific, I think the error is somewhere on the Logos server (although I am a Pastor and not an IT specialist, so take my my suggestion for what it is worth - which probably isn't a whole lot).
Blesssings on the repair.
Michael

Still nothing. Uninstalled. Reinstalled. Turned iPhone off and back on before launching app. Message on screen says "Error loading books. Logos could not load the specified book." When I hit "ok" I go to an empty app. And yes, I am online (wifi) in my home.
