Verbum Now members and buying packages ecumenically

Let me start by saying that I intend to buy a Verbum 8 library.

As a Verbum Now member with no 8 feature set, and no great interest in buying one, I can't see the prices of any non-Catholic packages (libraries) of interest to me on Logos.com (or Verbum.com). That is a problem. This issue has been brought up on the forums before, but with the arrival of 8, it's worth bringing up again.

Please give Verbum Now subscribers the option to toggle out of getting a Feature Set when buying a non-Verbum base package. Or something equivalent, even if less convenient.

Or just give me a free subscription to FaithLife Connect, your choice. Wink

I'm a Faithlife Connect subscriber, not a Verbum Now subscriber.

When I look at a Verbum base package, I see an option to only buy the Verbum library, not the whole base package.

I'd expect it to also work in the opposite direction for you, when looking at non-Verbum base packages.

(Did you click through the link in the email that was sent out to Faithlife Connect and Verbum Now subscribers? That should enable library-only purchases.)

Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

    Good.

    Alas, it doesn't.

Yes, and it didn't, for non-Verbum packages.

Sorry about that, SineNomine! Hopefully that issue gets fixed soon, since there are some great resources in the non-Verbum packages, as you know.

In the meantime, sales can definitely help you or others to buy library-only Logos packages, and you'll surely want to go through them anyway, to get your 30% off discount to apply to multiple Verbum/Logos package purchases.

Yes, if I end up choosing to buy multiple packages.

It took me four hours to decide what to purchase. Take your time! [;)]

    SineNomine,

If you call sales (888-875-9491), they can take of this for you. Or if you know the non-Verbum library you're interested in, let me know here, and I can send you a direct link to a library product page to add to your cart.

Right now, Anglican and Orthodox, Silver and every step lower. That list might get longer.

Here are comparisons of the different libraries: https://www.logos.com/compare/libraries?productIds=165423,165424,165425,165411,165412,165413

The Library Compare feature on Logos lets you compare up to 8 different package levels/traditions. I think your best option is to call sales when you decide the package(s) you want. I hope that helps!

This part I can do on my own, which is good.

What package(s) I want to buy is a strongly price-dependent decision.

Phoning Faithlife salespeople is time-intensive, pressured, limited to when you're open, and requires me already knowing which package(s) I want, and having already made the decision to buy at that particular moment.

What I don't have, what the website used to provide me, and what Faithlife Connect subscribers have but Verbum Now subscribers oddly lack, is the ability to check my own dynamic prices for individual non-Verbum libraries, any and all, at any time, on my time, without having to be somewhere that I can make a phone call from.

It's clear that Logos.com can be changed so that I can have automatic access to the information that will make it easier for me to give you my money, because Faithlife Connect members have access to it. And it's clear that the differences in features between Verbum Now and Faithlife Connect don't matter for this, because with FaithLife Connect PetahChristian can access this information for Verbum packages.

SineNomine, I'll take this up with our dev team and see what we might be able to do to get this dynamic pricing working for you (and other folks like you).

That was three weeks ago and it still doesn't work!

I had forgotten about this thread, so I wrote my own, "Wrong" base package prices, and Celeste claims that I can't buy an Orthodox package without also buying a Logos feature set. I'm pretty sure I can (as Donald also assures SineNomine above), so that's the lesser problem. The bigger problem is that I can't see the prices on the website:

What I don't have, what the website used to provide me, and what Faithlife Connect subscribers have but Verbum Now subscribers oddly lack, is the ability to check my own dynamic prices for individual non-Verbum libraries, any and all, at any time, on my time, without having to be somewhere that I can make a phone call from.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you and the frustration this has caused! I want to clarify that the behavior is the same for Faithlife Connect and Verbum Now subscribers. Sorry for the technical explanation, but hopefully it helps clear this up!

    • If a user fully owns (through a purchase) or accesses (through a subscription) all of the features associated with a base package, the option to purchase a library by itself is displayed.
    • Verbum base packages and Logos base packages contain slightly different features.
    • Verbum Now and Faithlife Connect contain slightly different features.
    • Verbum Now subscribers have the option to purchase Verbum libraries on their own.
    • Faithlife Connect subscribers have the option to purchase Logos libraries on their own.
    • If Faithlife Connect or Verbum Now subscribers want a different library, our sales team can help process those orders.

When I look at a Verbum base package, I see an option to only buy the Verbum library, not the whole base package.
This is actually not because PetahChristian has Faithlife Connect. He has a unique situation where the combination of his other previous Verbum purchases + Faithlife Connect gave him the equivalent of the Verbum 8 Features, so he sees the option to get the Verbum library on its own. Users who have Faithlife Connect only, or Faithlife Connect + Logos libraries would not see that option.

Celeste, thank you for clarifying the present behaviour of the website. Now that it has been clarified, would you please change it?
