Thanks, I see many of my WordSearch resources are already moved over, but there are some odd exceptions... For instance, many of my MacArthur commentaries moved over, but not my MacArthur commentary on Matthew or Acts.
Also they came over as individual resources... which seems to mean I need to have all my MacArthur commentaries open as individual resources. In WordSearch they were one resource so if I switched the to a different book of the Bible it went to the appropriate MacArthur Commentary. Is there anyway to organize them in one space (frankly it seems many of my WordSearch Commentaries are split up in individual books. This will get very tedious during Sermon Prep.

- Customers: If you’re a Wordsearch user, we’ve already set up a Faithlife/Logos account for you. If you already had a Faithlife account, we merged your Wordsearch account into your existing Faithlife account, if you used the same email address for both. If you used different email addresses for your accounts, you’ll now have two separate Faithlife accounts that we can merge for you by sending an email to cs@logos.com with the two email addresses you used letting us know which one you’d like to keep as primary. Otherwise, you don’t need to take any action to set up your new account. We’ll be handling everything for you. Be on the lookout for an email letting you know that your account migration is complete.
Did you use different email addresses? If so, I suggest you contact customer services and ask them to merge the two accounts.
Or were you asking something different?

Bill, you don't need to do this. As long as those commentaries belong to the same series, Logos will automatically open the right book when you reposition into a bible position that is not treated in your current book.

Bill, you don't need to do this. As long as those commentaries belong to the same series, Logos will automatically open the right book when you reposition into a bible position that is not treated in your current book.

I look forward to exploring the new layout.
I have been stumbling through a few tutorials and have pretty much concluded that the "How do I get Logos to act like Wordsearch" approach is probably not going to work. Do you have any suggestions for "starting from scratch"?
I'm hoping the old software continues to work until I finish publishing my current set of study guides, or at least until I can manage the transition.
**My biggest concern right now is that I cant find my Thompson Chain Reference** Is there a list of books that aren't available on Logos yet?0 -

After I posted my question, I went and looked at my logos library. I already have my resources. This is great! I love having my books in Logos.
I will check my WORDSearch library and verify all my titles came over.

This will instantly open "The Message of John" in the BST series (and close the Luke volume).

I'm VERY excited about this. Have always liked the WS resource offerings, but never liked the WS ecosystem. Now we can enjoy all the WS resources in the FL ecosystem. Best of both worlds. I just hope this means that Logos will begin offering more Holman resources and will begin tagging these resources so we can enjoy them more richly in the FL ecosystem.

That's a great question. I received and email from WordSearch saying my Perks subscription was cancelled but literally just paid for it a week or so ago and it did not say anything about refunding my money?

Hi there,
Congratulations on this merger. I can see many benefits. Yet, my already-feeble library management system on the user-end just became a worse predicament overnight with this unexpected acquisition.
1. I'm concerned about how to best tag everything that I regularly consulted in WS so they show up in my Logos custom guides & workflows now. Is there a way for me (someone there at FL) to produce a list (i.e. csv, excel, etc.) of all the WS resources that either migrated over or are pending? or some comparable management system on the END-USER side. I understand this is a large process for your teams, and will be happy to hear your advice on how to see what is what in my library from each platform.
2. Frequently, I used the WS IVS feature to run a search which pasted into a "Card File" in the software, how will these show up in Logos? Essentially, they were the same as "clippings" in my workflow. Should I expect them to convert as "Notes," because I'm not sure I would prefer that as it could potentially create much duplicate information that I have already copied over into Logos 8 Notes format.
3. Some WS resources were vital enough to me that I took the labor to convert them to personal books in Logos for my own personal study and use. If there are any highlights, notes, etc. tied to those now essentially duplicate personal books, is there a way to merge them into the actual resource now, or am I just up the creek on that? I'd regret having to "hide" duplicate resources that have years of combing in them. This happened to me years ago when I was had been using a personal book of John Gill's Commentary before it came available and I bought it in Logos. I had many highlights and notes that were basically no longer usable. I'd like to avoid that again if at all possible.
The following is potentially not directly related to the stated forum intent, so please redirect me if there is a more appropriate venue to express these concerns:
- While I'm indeed relieved to no longer need multiple softwares at once for these resources, I admit that I'm slightly perturbed at the fact that I have, at times, essentially spent "double money" now for certain resources that (when purchased) were simply not available in Logos, then later became available in Logos, so I purchased them essentially "again" JUST TO HAVE THEM IN LOGOS. (e.g. Adrian Rogers, John Phillips, Galaxie Software resources, etc.). There, I said it. Such is capitalism and another competitor's demise. While I understand that I'm no longer inside any "30 day return" window, MAY I GENTLY URGE FAITHLIFE TO PLEASE KINDLY CONSIDER taking what (in my mind) could have been credited back (by WORDsearch) to a humble consumer and apply those profits to funding of highly desired resources in either COMMUNITY PRICING, or PREPUB that are specifically BAPTIST resources, as WS was a more BAPTIST source for content? If you'd like to know which ones are high-priority for me, I have submitted those to your suggestions team before.
All I ask is, please, let me know what is going on with each of the "books" being migrated (while it was only a license technically, they are still "books" to me). As a pastor, these "books" many times are my "friends," and I want to make sure that none of my "friends" slip through the cracks. I expect I'll need to be as meticulous as if physically moving them from one "bookshelf" to another in my study. Your team has expressed how they are handling the "heavy lifting" for me, and I am VERY thankful for their assistance, but I need an easy way to see what moving over so I can tag accordingly (i.e. which will be simple monographs vs. bible commentaries, etc.)

I waffled between Logos and Wordsearch for a while before I settled for the simplicity of Wordsearch, so you are right to abandon the "Wordsearch" approach.
As for starting from scratch, the only thing I can say is to dive into the tutorials of which there are many. There are even sites that seem to make good money selling tutorials for Logos and they get old quickly due to the changes and upgrades that Logos is constantly making, but, still somewhat apply.
Logos has amazing sync capability and their app is amazing if you use the phone or iPad app, so that will be an upgrade if you use that. You can drag the windows to where ever you want them. You can even "pop out" a window to use it next to another program if you want. When it comes to highlights, they are basically attached to a note, (if I remember correctly and it hasn't changed). That concept took some getting used to.
Be careful what free resources you take advantage of if you don't want a cluttered library. I forget the name but I got a ton of free ancient works, Plato, Aristotle in Greek and English and Civil War stuff that I'll never use.
The answer to one of your questions:
The email I received for Faithlife said that Wordsearch would continue to work, but, it will no longer be updated and you will no longer be able to purchase resources for it. Thankfully Wordsearch didn't require you to be online to work.

I've requested here that Logos consider auto tagging these as WS resources. Hopefully they will. But you can easily tag the resources that came over today as "Wordsearch" and then compare that to the bibliography you can generate out of WS.

I'm actually quite excited to learn about Logos taking over Wordsearch. I purchased the software and most of my books/etc. back when it was Bible Explorer. Never felt like the computer version of Wordsearch was as good as BE. Also owned titles on both Logos and WS, so it's nice to have everything in once place.
That being said, I do not use Logos very much when doing my weekly prep for my teaching. I realize that they are two different programs. Can you provide some links to some "set up" and "training" videos on Logos? I know it's not rocket science, but would love to learn some of the shortcuts, etc. Thanks!

I have mixed feelings about this I must admit. I have used Logos for years, since the 90's and have enjoyed the power of its app. However, the pricing often puts materials well outside my ability to afford. I don't have any book allowance to draw from. Wordsearch provided me an opportunity to afford titles I would not have been able to otherwise.
I do appreciate your continuing to accept the perks program. I was surprised at that, and grateful.
It will be nice to have the resources in one place.

Because every Logos user's and Wordsearch user's libraries are different, we don't have a list customised to you. You can search your Logos Library for {AddedDate 1d} to find everything downloaded in the last day, then tag those how you want.
I'm not sure what sort of tagging you need on resources for them to show up in your custom guides, so it's hard to answer your specific question more thoroughly.

I'm not familiar with the "Card File" feature. Is this Note Stacks, or something else?
We're still planning how WS user-created documents will import into Logos, but Note Stacks will come in as Logos Notes.

We're going to import notes and highlights from Wordsearch ebooks into the corresponding Logos editions, but we can't move notes from your private PBBs, sorry.

We realise that this is important to a lot of customers, and that you want to know when your library will be completely migrated, or the status of an individual title. So far, we've been able to publish a basic list of all resources at https://www.logos.com/wordsearch-library-migration

There's "no such thing" as "Wordsearch resources" [:)]. They're all Logos resources now. Some Logos users may have purchased them through a Logos base package, others through individual purchase, or others via this new import of Wordsearch licenses. If you want to track how you acquired a resource, you can do that by tagging them in your personal Library. We won't be applying any tags to the resources, because the method of acquisition is particular to each individual customer, and not a property of the resource itself.

Thanks...I'm loving the new experience with Logos. In regards to not seeing everything transfer over, I noticed that my New Living Translation (NLT) Bible didn't transfer to Logos. Is this a license issue? I didn't see the NLT in https://www.logos.com/wordsearch-library-migration. Thanks.
