Do we have any idea how soon this incorporation will take place? It seems like it would be a simple indexing issue, but I'm a pastor, not a coder. This has been an expensive transition and this is a feature I use regularly. It isn't saving me time right now. PLEASE HELP. thanks.
I think it might be easiest for you to continue to use your working WORDsearch first and until they migrated all the resources you need (check the link they have about your migrated library), where most of them should be done by the end of year.

I was thinking the same. My WordSearch is still working perfectly, although I'll admit I used Logos 99.9% of the time and only used WordSearch for resources I couldn't buy in Logos or which were ridiculously cheap in WordSearch.

I wish I had taken that approach now. But at the time, I hated the WordSearch software (still do) and would pay the extra $$ to get the Logos version.....Paul Caneparo said:or which were ridiculously cheap in WordSearch.

For clarification, you are referring to the incorporation of the Word Search "Lesson Maker" feature. I am not a Word Search user and don't know how that feature worked. From my understanding, it was a tool and not a "book." FL hinted that they would be looking in to how best to incorporate that feature in the future... no promises and no deadlines.
Chad Garinger said:This has been an expensive transition and this is a feature I use regularly. It isn't saving me time right now. PLEASE HELP.
If the "lesson maker" feature is something you depend upon, you would be best advised to keep using Word Search for the time being.

I could be wrong, but from everything I have read up until now, the Adult Questions for Lessonmaker will definitely be brought over as a resource, and I concur it is an important one, but the functionality of the tool part is still under review as to how best to incorporate into Logos if at all.
Thanks, Carla

I would like to hear from someone from Faithlife about the exact nature of that transition. I would also hope that the web app for Wordsearch will still work until they complete the transfer process.
It looks like it would be a simple e-book with Logos tagging functionality which would be good enough for me. If they plan to do something more complex, I'd like to know.
At present, the LessonMaker Adult Question Index ebook states:
Adult Questions Index
Please note:
This topical index has been incorporated into Adult Questions for LESSONmaker. To find topics in this book (and others!), please use the Topical Search feature in your program.
A clarification or update would be helpful.
Adult Questions Index for LESSONmaker (WORDsearch, 1992).

Quite a number of B&H books in my Faithlife eBooks wishlist are now showing as no longer available. I can only assume they're going to reappear at some point in the Logos store, as the WordSearch announcement talked about additional B&H resources being available as part of the acquisition.

Bug report in linking from wordsearchbible.lifeway.com to logos.com:
source: https://wordsearchbible.lifeway.com/products/24703-niv-study-bible , probably is the 2008 revision of NIV Study Bible
Links to: https://www.logos.com/product/192576/niv-study-bible-notes-rev-ed?utm_source=wordsearch.com&utm_medium=website , is the 2020 revision.
It probably corresponds to 0:3913 in https://www.logos.com/wordsearch/catalog , which is "in progress".
This probably is the correct behavior described earlier: the links in the website are done more fuzzily but the migration match is more careful.

I am very grateful for this update and have been trying to use it and get used to it. My problem is I just signed up for my Capstone class at Liberty and my books went into WSB and I can't figure out how to get them over to LOGOS? And I am unable to scroll and read the book on my old WSB app. Can you help?

I assume you have a Logos account. Assuming you have, your WordSearch books should appear in your Logos library.

This is the expected behavior at this point. There is a transition period for the hand off between Lifeway and Faithlife. The textbooks are still in WordSearch and I am not sure when FL will begin to provide support.

Hi Michael
I think that your Logos Account and your Wordsearch account have to be linked to the same email address.
Welcome to the forums by the way. Volunteers here can often get answers to questions out quicker than Faithlife can answer the phone so don't be a stranger.
We particularly like simple questions because they allow us to show off. ;-)
In this case, however, I think a phone call to customer services might be your best bet.

Thanks for the e-mails. This is what I have found out. As you know MyWSB has migrated to LOGOS except Liberty is still using them for their current classes and it seems that there are licensing issues that have prevented the transfer of some current books. The phone number in the MyWSB app goes to someone that can not help and sends you to LOGOS 1-800-875-6467. Here is where I was given the information. He also explained that MyWSB or WordSearch app will not work on my iPad due to my current software upgrade (on my iPad) is no longer compatible, so I will have to use the web address app.wordsearchbible.lifeway.com in order to view and read my books. This is a shame I was looking forward to using the LOGOS app for my final class. You are also very limited in what you can do using the unsupported MyWSB. Like no highlights which I use a great deal. Thanks again everyone for your responses.

Hi Phil,
I have been a customer of Logos Bible Software for a long time now. I'm also a WordSearch customer, too.
I was informed that the WordSearch library is being transferred to Logos which is great! The reason I am contacting you directly is because there is a major misunderstanding and oversight with the issue of not transferring the WordSearch KJV Bible. But I was told that the WordSearch KJV Bible will not be transferred to Logos because the Logos library already has a KJV Bible in the library. As a result, the e-mail from Faithlife Logos Customer Support stated that they will "retire" the WordSearch KJV Bible. There is only one KJV Bible in Logos (KJV 1900) and it does not have periscopes (ie: headings/subheadings and proper spacings) through the text.I have purchased the printed Bibles such as: The Open KJV Bible, the KJV Study Bible, etc. and they all have proper spacing and periscopes. There is not an option in Logos to purchase a KJV Bible with the proper spacing and periscopes. The reason why the WordSearch KJV is so important is because it includes the proper spacing and periscope which makes it much easier to read and study. Please take a look at the WordSearch KJV Bible here:As you can see, this WordSearch KJV Bible is one of a kind, especially if it were transferred to the Logos Library.I have made several phone calls to Logos, Faithlife and even WordSearch (Lifeway) and they all referred me back to the forums to make a suggestion.I followed through with the forums but I feel like my voice is not being heard. Here are the links to my forum entries concerning this urgent and important request:I feel like Logos has a valuable resource, asset and opportunity with the WordSearch KJV to be added to the Logos Library and to be informed that they are NOT planning to transfer but to RETIRE it is really bad news.I also called Logos Sales department to see if I could purchase another kind of KJV Bible such as the Open KJV Bible or Study Bible that includes the proper spacing and periscopes but they said they have NO KJV Bible that includes what I am looking for.I called Logos Tech support and they showed me how I can link the Logos KJV Bible with another Bible version so that I can follow along with the other Bible's periscope and then go back and forth with the text. I'll send you a screenshot of what that looks like below..Even though I found a work around using The Outline Bible, which is an awesome tool, yet this is nothing like using the WordSearch KJV Bible as a good "Go To Bible" -- reading and study Bible.I am making an urgent appeal that this specific WordSearch KJV Bible will also be transferred to Logos since it is part of the WordSearch Library. Logos Bible Software has only one KJV and it does not include any headings whatsoever. This WordSearch KJV Bible makes a great reading and study Bible and would be an asset for the Logos Library. Here is the information:
WordSearch KJV Number: 005619461
https://app.wordsearchbible.lifeway.com/library/title/ 005619461 I am making an urgent appeal that this specific WordSearch KJV Bible will also be transferred to Logos since it is part of the WordSearch Library.

Yes, here are the screen shots.
Here is the Logos KJV only.
Here is the WordSearch KJV of Genesis 1
Here is WordSearch KJV in Genesis 12.
When I contacted customer service about this issue, they said that Logos already has a KJV Bible and they will retire this WordSearch KJV.
My point is that Logos needs more KJV Bibles with periscopes (headings, subheadings, etc) just as you would see in the "Open Bible" and other KJV study Bibles.
Since Faithlife already acquired WordSearch, all they have to do is transfer the WordSearch KJV into the Logos library and we all will have a beautiful, easy to read KJV digital Bible in the Logos Library.
This is my urgent request.
The work around is using the Logos KJV with the Bible Outline. But I don't think this works on a cell phone app.
Here is the screen shot of the work around:
Screen shot #2:
Some might think this is a good work around.
But I have a better idea. Use the Bible Outline and connect it to WordSearch KJV "if and when" it gets transferred over to Logos Library and then that will be the ultimate KJV Bible with awesome periscopes.
What do you think?
Sincerely,
Curtis

Hi Mr Cross and welcome to the forums.
There are a few things to remember.
Your Wordsearch installation will remain functional for the foreseeable future unless you break it by upgrading your computer or taking some other action.
The Logos engine is free to use.
Almost all Wordsearch resources will be transferred to a usable format in Logos. Faithlife make a commitment that no user need ever pay for the same resource twice. That includes your transferred Wordsearch resources.
You are in the fortunate position that most of your resources are fully functional in both Wordsearch and Logos. Those yet to be fully adapted can still be used in Wordsearch. In the future your resources will remain usable in Logos at no charge to yourself.

That is definitely true for people who paid for those resources and thus acquired a permanent license in the usual way. I'm not sure whether WS had any special licensing agreements with Liberty so that students may have received only temporary licenses for the duration of their enrolment (maybe with a promise for a very substantial rebate if they acquired that package).
In this case maybe the contracts between WS and the publishers were special (no royalities until real ownership?) and need to be sorted out. Some questions of Liberty students sound a bit that way - and if that's the case, FL needs to negotiate the publishers into the "normal" Academic program that gives permanent access and I'm not sure we can promise the "no charge" thing.
Have joy in the Lord!

I think, though, that we can say that 'All resources that you have paid for can be continue to be used at no extra charge to yourself"?

Hi Phil,
My friend signed up to the free Logos App Bible software: https://app.logos.com/
She was trying to get the free access to the King James Version (WordSearch edition) but she said she could not find it.
Can you make sure that this KJV WordSearch Edition will be included in it please?
It's available here: https://biblia.com/books/ws-0-1/Jn3.14
But she is new to Logos and would like to access this public domain Bible KJV WordSearch edition in App.Logos.com
Thank you for your help.

Those freely licensed versions available on biblia are not all available to be browsed for free in Logos (including app.logos.com, what you can access in Logos Desktop and app.logos.com should be identical.)
Some (may be all) of them are available on mobile apps however. So you can ask her to try reading it on mobile apps. (And there's a way to install mobile app on desktop depending on platforms but that may be too technical.)
Also, "buying" those $0 Logos packages like the Basic ones may give you additional "temporary licenses" for other Bibles. I'm not sure it includes the KJV though.

Hi Kolen,
Thank you for your reply.
I am still hoping that Phil can fix this issue.
* The free Logos package does not include the KJV (Word Search) edition. See https://www.logos.com/basic
Phil, please include the KJV (Word Search) edition in all Logos apps and packages.
It is not even "sold" on the Logos website:
As a result, my friend cannot access or read the KJV (Word Search) Edition. =(
Thanks for your help.

I know about KJV only individuals, but this is the first time I see KJV WORDsearch version only 😂 — To me KJV is KJV. Is the text that counts not the headings which are not inspired anyway.
But hey, hopefully FL can include it for free, depending on the contract, copyrights and stuff.

Hi DAL,
Thank you for saying, "But hey, hopefully FL can include it for free, depending on the contract, copyrights and stuff."
I can't recall any other Bible versions in the Logos library that does not include headings and subheadings, except for the KJV 1900.
If you look up the NKJV, NASB, NLT Bibles in Logos, they will all have headings.
Like you said, they are "not inspired anyway" but personally, I find the headings and subheadings helpful especially when I'm looking up verses in the Bible, or when I'm reading through the Bible passages.
So why not include a KJV Bible with headings especially since they already acquired this specific Bible from WordSearch? As a WordSearch (Lifeway Bible Software) user, I was glad to see this KJV Bible added to the Logos Library.
But I noticed that it has not been completely transferred over because 1) It is not included in the Free Logos base package or any of the Logos' packages 2) you cannot even purchase this Bible in the Logos store.
I shared my excitement about this specific KJV Bible and my friend wanted to join Logos. When she became a Logos user, she noticed that she did not have access to this specific KJV (WordSearch) Bible.
I think this specific Bible would be a great asset to the Logos Library.
And I also believe more people will become Logos customers!
DAL, you mentioned: "To me KJV is KJV. Is the text that counts not the headings which are not inspired anyway. "
You're right. I have read headings in some Bibles for Revelation chapter 1. Some Bibles state: "The Revelation of St. John" but when you read Revelation 1:1, it clearly says, "It is the Revelation of Jesus Christ." I don't make it an issue because this "revelation of Jesus Christ" was given to John.
I personally enjoy prayerfully reading and studying from the KJV Bible. However, I also like to compare and contrast what other verses say in other Bibles such as the NKJV, NLT, etc.
When certain Bibles omits or adds to Jesus' own words and other passages of Scripture (ie: Luke 4:4; Luke 4:8; Matthew 9:13, Colossians 1:14; etc.), I can understand why some Bible Christians prefer reading, studying and memorizing from the KJV Bible.
Note: Can you imagine participating in a Bible Bowl and getting the answer wrong because you were studying NIV passages of Luke 4:4, Luke 4:8 and Matthew 9:13 instead of the KJV?With all this said, it's awesome to have so many valuable resources available in Logos, including the many Bible versions.
I'm also glad that Logos acquired the KJV (WordSearch) edition with the headings.
As a researcher and Bible student, I am glad to be a member of Logos family!

Interesting, my library contains more Bibles without pericope titles than with them.
