Official: Update for Faithlife Connect subscribers

If you're a current Connect subscriber, you've probably been waiting for us to confirm how we'll migrate you to our new subscriptions. It's taken longer than we wanted, so thank you for your patience.

The good news is that next week, we will be adding all the new subscription features into Connect Essentials and Connect Premiere at no extra cost. (That includes all the different variations of Essentials and Premiere, including "No Library" aka former Logos Now customers.)

You will also receive the 400 books that are included as part of the Logos Pro subscription. This means that you'll get the benefits of the Logos Pro subscription now, without losing any of your Connect perks and without having to wait until we've completed a full migration onto the new subscription, which we'll do in the fall.

If you are already subscribed to Logos Pro or Logos Premium, we will cancel that subscription for you, as it will no longer be needed. Any outstanding time left on that subscription will be added to your Connect subscription.

If you are already subscribed to Logos Max, we will NOT automatically cancel your subscription because that would mean you would lose access to the additional 100 books that come with Max, along with any Logos Max Legacy Fallback License qualification you might have accrued. You can choose to cancel the renewal yourself, of course. Regardless of what choice you make, any outstanding time left on your Max subscription will be added to your Connect subscription.

I'm not sure of the exact date/time these features will be added to your subscription, but we'll let subscribers know by email as soon as it is done.

If you're still a subscriber when we fully migrate Connect customers in the fall, you'll be migrated onto the discounted track of Logos Pro, which will be priced at $9.99/month or $99.99/year. At that point, you could choose to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your renewal. We'll say more about that process nearer the time.

Thanks again for your patience. I'll try to answer any questions you might have in this thread.

Thank you, Mark.  This is great news and a great deal.  I am excited.

    Thanks for this update.

This is awesome news to hear! Thank you, Mark!

Looking forward to getting migrated into logos pro! That was the edition I wanted anyway :)

Quick question, does this apply for Faithlife Connect Essentials - No library (formerly Logos Now) too?

Quick question, does this apply for Faithlife Connect Essentials - No library (formerly Logos Now) too?

    Yes, it does.

    Thank you Mark!

    Blessings in Christ.

What do I currently lose by subscribing to Logos Pro and having the full set of Logos 10 features compared to Max?

    Blessings in Christ.

what do I loose currently as a subscriber of Logos Pro and having the Full set of Logos 10 Feautres compared to Max?

If you were to subscribe to Max, you would gain a larger temporary library of books. That is the only difference currently.

Soon there will be more differences. I expect Max to have more perks than Pro at launch (though to date no additional perks have been announced). Over time, Max will have exclusive original language features not available in Pro.

Got my notification email about my Faithlife Connect Essentials (No Library) subscription being switched to Logos Pro. :)

If you were to subscribe to Max, you would gain a larger temporary library of books.

The books that might be added could be those that I already own. I am skeptical about this. It would be more advantageous if the books were unowned books.

    Blessings in Christ.

Thank you for this announcement. My only question if you're prepared to comment is, do Connect subscribers qualify for the Max upgrade at the discounted price?

This is an excellent transitional move … really good. Thanks for the news, Mark, and for your work in communicating with the Logos community.

    That’s my question also

I seriously can't keep up what's going on with Logos' subscriptions whenever I visit the forum.

    1. So which one do I cancel? the Max or the Connect Essentials?

    2. What do I lose & what do I gain?

    3. Anything else I should be worried about?

Mike, if you cancel Max you won't lose anything right now but the extra books included in Max.

I seriously can't keep up what's going on with Logos' subscriptions whenever I visit the forum.

    1. So which one do I cancel? the Max or the Connect Essentials?

My understanding from what Mark wrote was that Logos would do everything on their end - if I was in your shoes I wouldn't cancel anything and let them sort it out (and potentially also fix errors made in the first round by going over it again).

Have joy in the Lord! Smile

    Mark,

You may have already covered this, but I would like some additional explanation.

I own Logos 10 Gold, and I have been been a (very) long-time connect subscriber. My connect fee just renewed for another year ($99).

Additionally, I'm paying the $9.95 a month for the early bird access.

So I'm not quite certain as to what I should do. Should I cancel my connect subscription now, or wait until later? Or, will Logos migrate the balance of my connect fee to Logos Pro when connect goes away?

    Thank you,

    Bruce Cullom Sr.

(PS. Thank you and the Logos team for all of the good work you do. I've been with Logos since version 1.6 (about 30 years), which came on six 3.5" floppy discs  :).

Should I cancel my connect subscription now, or wait until later? Or, will Logos migrate the balance of my connect fee to Logos Pro when connect goes away?

If you are already subscribed to Logos Pro or Logos Premium, we will cancel that subscription for you, as it will no longer be needed. Any outstanding time left on that subscription will be added to your Connect subscription.

Thank you, Mark for the update and thank you Logos – much appreciated![Y]

Question about fallback license, not that I plan to just subscribe for two years, but just to make sure in case of unseen circumstances. As a Faithlife Connect subscriber, I own some features but not full, if I subscribe for two years do I keep all the non ai and cloud features, or do I need to purchase the Full Feature Set to be eligible for the fall back license?

Just trying to figure out what I would gain if I did purchase the full feature set now as opposed to just subscribing and having the fall-back as a backup.

There will be some features in the L10 Full Featureset that will probably not be included in the Legacy Fallback License. I'm afraid we don't have the specifics of that yet, but the translation tool will almost certainly be one of them. Print Library is also a feature that is purely Cloud-based, so it's possible that it might be excluded from the fallback license, too.

The Fallback license is also dependent on your subscription tier. So there will be a Logos Max Fallback, and a Logos Pro Fallback, etc.

If you intend to subscribe to Logos Pro rather than Logos Max, then there will obviously be lots of existing advanced original language features in the Logos 10 Full Feature Set that wouldn't be in the Logos Pro Legacy Fallback License.

Will these specifics be determined by September 6 when the farewell tour comes to an end?

As a FLC subscriber, I'm not sure how I feel about this. It seems to me that I am going to experience a significant loss in value for what I am paying. Currently, with FLC I have access to all features in the most up-to-date version (L10 until L11) comes out. However, since the migration is not going to move into Logos Max (at least not without spending more money), then I am paying the same amount for less features.

Furthermore, I will no longer get the following:

    • 25% off each month on Lexham resources
    • 3 free Faithlife Classic e-books each month
    • 2% back each year on what I spent the previous year

Now, this is how it looks to me. However, I'd welcome any correction.

You will now get 5% back each year. There is talk of an additional free book and access to mobileEd courses but I believe the 25% lexham and 3 free ebooks is gone. I will miss the 3 free books as well as I've been building up some collections. You do have time though to grab a few more.

Okay, thanks for your reply, Graham. I'm still not sure I understand though. When I look at the comparisons between Logos Pro and Logos Max, there is clearly functionality/features present in Max that aren't in Pro. And yet it will be Pro that I will be migrated to. So when you say...

So you will get all of the current new subscription features without losing anything you currently have through your Connect subscription.

... I don't know how I would have all the new subscription features available, like I have had for years with FLC. Is that not correct?

The way I understand it is that, in terms of new functionality (i.e. that which is currently available through a Premium, Pro or Max subscription) each of the Premium, Pro, Max subscriptions are the same - the only difference is in the books included.

In the future I expect this will change with new features (as yet unknown to us) being delivered within different tiers.

So with a combination Pro being "merged" with Connect you will get all the new features as well as continuing to have the features your Connect subscription provided.

For totally new subscribers, a Pro subscriber would get the recently added new features as well as features included in Logos 10 Silver Feature Set while a Max subscriber would get the recently added new features as well as features included in Logos 10 Full Feature Set.

Does that make sense / help at all?

Jordan, I think that you are substantially correct. My understanding is that these perks will continue until a Connect subscriber is migrated officially to Pro. If one stays with Pro after migrated from Connect, one will lose some of Connect's features, sort of like dropping from Logos 10 Full Feature Set to Logos Silver Feature Set.

So if one does not own those features through having purchased the L10-FFS, it seems that one must spend $30 more annually for Max to retain them.

I went ahead and purchased the L10-FFS at the nicely discounted prices that's available, if I recall correctly, through September 6, and I intend to migrate to Pro and remain there. I did that even through it will take five-plus years for the price to even out, but it was sort of an insurance policy should I decide not to continue the Pro subscription after a few months with it. Even with the fallback provision after two years, the AI/cloud necessary feature components of Pro and Max will be lost, but one will retain them if one has purchased the L10-FFS. I'm not sure how much I will utilize the difference in features that the Full Feature Set has over the Silver Feature Set, but I'll have them if I need them.

Of course, we make our plans, but circumstances can certainly change (I just noticed Mattillo's note above mine). And I may be misunderstanding some things, though Mark's OP has helped answer a lot of questions that many of us have had.

Pastor, Cornerstone Baptist Church, Clinton, SC

Probably a dumb question, but for people who do have it… how do you know it is active? Is there a splash screen or pro logo somewhere? Or just try to access the new features at the end of the week?

    There is a splash screen.

    Great to hear this, thaks!

Can anyone suggest if there's any value in me purchasing "Logos 10 Full Feature Upgrade" if I intend to stick with the Logos Now (connect?) subscription for the foreseeable future?

It's quite cheap at the moment at $92. Will I miss out on any subscription savings if I don't purchase? If I decide to opt out of a subscription in the future will I have no chance of buying the Logos 10 features?

Edit: Also what will the price difference be between Logos Now/Connect and Logos Pro subscription?

And I assume if I canceled my Now/Connect subscription for any length of time, I'd permanently lose the better price?

As I understand it, "Connect" will be going away sometime before the end of the year. I have been a Now/Connect subscriber since day one and Logos customer service told me that when Connect ceases to exist, they will automatically transfer the balance of my subscription $$ over to a Logos Pro subscription (which I could change to Max if I wanted to).

Additionally, Logos customer service told me that since I owned the Logos 10 data sets, that I would receive the lowest price on the Logos Pro subscription (which for me was $99.95 based on the annual subscription -- the same price I was paying for Now).

A friend of mine has Logos 8 Silver, and it was cheaper for him to purchase the Logos 10 data sets AND (then) sign up for Logos Pro, than it was to subscribe to Logos Pro having only Logos 8 Silver.

However, Logos is only offering the opportunity to purchase the Logos 10 data sets at a reduced price through the first week of September.

Can anyone suggest if there's any value in me purchasing "Logos 10 Full Feature Upgrade" if I intend to stick with the Logos Now (connect?) subscription for the foreseeable future?
NathanL, I am by no means the last word on this matter, but you are able to get a clear explanation of your personal position with respect to this issue from customer service.

You can gain insight by visiting your Order History. There you may find a transaction similar to my personal instance below which shows that upon migration I paid $46.87 for the full feature set. There is no reason for me to buy the features again no matter how inconsequential the cost.

Further, if I continue subscribing (here my information may be an overestimation) at the level of Pro or better for two years I qualify for the fall back license.

You should have received an email regarding the transfer of your Connect subscription to Logos Pro at the discount price of $99.99/year. So you should contact Customer Service and clarify your eligibility.

If you don't need to purchase the "Logos 10 Full Feature Upgrade", or Silver Feature Upgrade (before Sept 6) you can purchase the non-cloud features you have been using after 2 years subscription.

As a FLC subscriber, I'm not sure how I feel about this. It seems to me that I am going to experience a significant loss in value for what I am paying. However, since the migration is not going to move into Logos Max (at least not without spending more money), then I am paying the same amount for less features.

One way to think about it is that the price of Faithlife Connect has been $100/yr for 8 years, and now the price is going up to $130/yr. That's a 3.3% increase per year. For that very increase in price, they are adding AI features which were science fiction when Logos Now came out and adding a fallback license which we never had before. While they are raising the price, they are continuing to honor my subscription through its renewal date and adding additional features at no extra cost. After that renewal, I am losing the monthly public domain books that I don't really need, but I am gaining a better cashback rate and a storewide discount of 5%. If I don't want to pay the increase, they are introducing a new tier where I can lose a few features but stay at the same price.

The only extravagant thing Logos could do for me would be to retroactively create a fallback license for those of us who have been on Connect for years, and give us a Logos 10 full feature set. But they have not mistreated me in any way but not doing that and offering a 50% off sale instead.

You don't lose any features as all the new features will be added to your Connect, in addition to some 400 max books that are in Logos Pro. In practice about 150 of those books may be new to you, as some are already in Connect and you will own many of the others.

Thanks all - a few months ago, we (Logos Now/Connect subscribers, I think, but their target audience might have been wider and I didn't realize it) were encouraged by Faithlife to upgrade to a Full Feature Set to get ready for the new subscriptions. They also told us there is no danger in waiting until they're done figuring everything out and they're ready to contact us to facilitate our migration (which I decided to do - I love the attention to detail and how Faithlife listens so much to our questions - and though I reach out here now, I know this is still true!)

Now, they're putting on a nice sale just for this purpose, encouraging us (who own some levels of L10 libraries and a non-FFS) to upgrade to the FFS to make ready. So they don't seem to have changed their language. But OTOH, we Now/Connect subscribers might be quite the rare species, and this language might therefore not be exactly targeting us. After all, it's to give access to the discount price, and we Now/Connect subscribers are already guaranteed access to it.

Reflecting on the perpetual fallback licenses (love that!), and reading you all here in this thread, I think I can conclude that we, Now/Connect subscribers, are really in a different category that's skimmed upon on the regular marketing pages, such that if we were to skip on the FFS sale and migrate this fall to the Logos Max subscription at the discount price that's guaranteed for us, we would, after two years of such a discounted subscription, inherit all that we're currently missing in our partial ownership of the current FFS. And so, again, I should not fear waiting for Faithlife to contact me about my migration, and I should not feel at all the urge to buy the FFS at its current sale price (considering my intent of subscribing perpetually to Logos Max.)

With that said, I wish one of the official FAQs confirmed this understanding for us. But again, I know Faithlife won't let us down. They may want to keep it lean on the regular pages but I can only wonder how many of us are completely at peace in the wait. :-)

The good news is that next week, we will be adding all the new subscription features into Connect Essentials and Connect Premiere at no extra cost. (That includes all the different variations of Essentials and Premiere, including "No Library" aka former Logos Now customers.)

    Thank you Mark!

I'll be moving from Pro early access to Max.

Too soon old. Too late smart.

Howdy friends. Been, a while since I've posted. Jumped on because my Logos Now/Connect/Cloud needs renewed next week. For me, the central issue is that we're flying blind. I know everyone likes a big release announcement but It seems like many of us are having issues comparing the apples to come with the oranges we have. The plan I'm on now...for 99 American dollars a year guarantees all the latest features of the current release of the program. I need to know what that will cost under the new system.

I need to know what that will cost under the new system.

    That's Logos Max. $129/yr.

Will I have access to all the language tools that I have now? Because the allure of Connect was all features. I also note that the quoted price is $350.00 a year, struck through with an additional quote of $129.99 a year. How long will the latter pertain? is it permanent? Virtually no one can afford $350.00 a month subscription.

Well, as a FaithLife Essentials subscriber, I don't really know what is happening BUT it may be that I don't need to buy the full feature upgrade if I plan to stay on a subscription model.

However, if I ever plan to stop paying the subscription, if I buy the full feature upgrade now, I won't lose that functionality later. But is that worth $330? That's the question.

Will I have access to all the language tools that I have now? Because the allure of Connect was all features. I also note that the quoted price is $350.00 a year, struck through with an additional quote of $129.99 a year.

If you move to Logos Max, then yes. If you stay on Logos Pro, then some advanced original language tools will be missing.

How long will the latter pertain? is it permanent?

As with all subscriptions, we will review prices from time to time, but we have no current plans to increase the price of either the normal track or the discounted track.

Thanks for the update Mark. Great news.

I am a long-term subscriber of Logos Now, but have been waiting patiently until things have settled with the new Logos subscriptions.

    Given Mark's comment

If you are already subscribed to Logos Pro or Logos Premium, we will cancel that subscription for you, as it will no longer be needed. Any outstanding time left on that subscription will be added to your Connect subscription.

I assume I can already sign up for Logos Pro right now and enjoy the "free month". Whenever FL then transfers my subscription this week (or next week?), it all happens without any additional cost. Is this correct?

Yes, if you didn't want to wait a few days, you could do that.

    Hi Mark,

Reflecting back on what I understand about my specific scenario.

I currently have FLC No Library, which will not be renewed until early January 2025. So, if I do nothing; at some point this week, I will begin to get access to the Logos Pro features, but on my subscription page, it will still say FLC Connect Essentials - No Library. Then, at some point in the next few months, I will be migrated to the Logos Pro subscription (so when I look at my Subscription page, that is what it will say), and in January, I will pay $99 to continue on that new subscription. I assume I can already sign up for Logos Pro right now and enjoy the "free month". Whenever FL then transfers my subscription this week (or next week?), it all happens without any additional cost. Is this correct?

Yes, if you didn't want to wait a few days, you could do that.

Would it be possible to post here once the change is made?

    Excellent news thank you.

I’m not able to be in the forums as much as I used to. So I’m very out of the loop. This thread really hasn’t helped or been clear.

I’ve had FL Connect Essentials (no library) since it was Logos Now. What do I need to do to have the highest level subscription (Max?), and when do I need to do it?

    Thanks!

Hi Donnie - I'll do my best here:

If you do nothing, you will be migrated over to Logos Pro sometime this week (perhaps as early as today per Mark Barnes).

Pro will meet the needs of most pastors and teachers.

As for Max, it depends on how much in-depth original language studies you do. Pro will offer much of that, but Max is for those who do the in-depth stuff. So... it depends on your needs if you go to Max or not.

In the first post in this thread Mark said:

If you're still a subscriber when we fully migrate Connect customers in the fall, you'll be migrated onto the discounted track of Logos Pro, which will be priced at $9.99/month or $99.99/year. At that point, you could choose to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your renewal. We'll say more about that process nearer the time.

So when they migrate Connect customers you should move across to Logos Pro - at which point you could upgrade to Max if you wish?

    Does that help?

Thanks, Graham. I did understand what you replied with. What I don’t understand is w.r.t. Max. It sounds like it already exists, but I’ve never heard anything about it. It sounds as if I were already on it, I’d continue at that level. I know that’s where I want to be when everything settles. I’m not worried about the timing of my FLC renewal.

Thus my original question: What do I need to do to move to Max, and when do I need to do it?

    Thanks again.

can we see the the list of pro versus max anywhere?

Wait until they do the migration from FLC to Logos Pro. Once they do that switch, as per Mark Barnes, you'll be on Pro, then you can switch to Max.

My changeover from Connect Essential to Logos Pro went through smoothly today. It shows 326 'updated' books in my library. But they are all marked as 'temporary'. Are they at some point going to become 'permanent'? If not, when are they likely to be withdrawn?

They will be there as long as you are a subscriber.

i.e. you do not keep them "permanently" unless purchased (it is the same as a Connect subscription with books).

    Mark,

Will the updated Logos Pro subscription follow on to Faithlife Connect include the two mobile Ed courses per year?

    Peace.

I have not seen an answer to this question yet and I have learned much over the years by always finding a course to be working on using the 6 month  "rentals" of courses using this benefit of my Faithlife Connect subscription. I would be disappointed to see it go away.

I may be misinformed, but it appears that the Connect subscription features are honored. IOWs Pro has been blended with Connect. I received the full feature set for a prorated price and now enjoy the benefits of both programs, AFAIK this is applicable generally. To answer your question directly, the MobileEd courses continue to be offered.

Unclear is whether subscribers will be eligible for the 2% and 5% annual rewards. I guess that the higher of the two will take precedence.

    Hello Beloved and Paul,

Paul, I too like the option of the rented courses.

Beloved, indeed it does seem that the programs are blended until when... Certainly until the renewal in 2025. Then what will happen? Will the two rented course, free ebooks, 2% benefits be gone?

I hope not. It would be nice if they left it grandfathered in as a combined subscription indefinitely..... Or until a person changes suns subscription plans.

This is correct at the moment, but once the migration is complete, you'll only receive the new perk, not the old one.

I'm not sure when the transition from 2% to 5% will take place, sorry. It's possible it won't be until the end of the transition period.

We'll be announcing some more perks very shortly, but I'm hopeful that our Mobile Ed perks will be even better in the new subscription than they were in Faithlife Connect.

I have what used to be Logos Now for 99.95 a year.  I mainly use it for Faithlife TV.  Will this continue to be a part of the new subscription?

Would you look at that! I second this question to Mark. I hope it sticks around in some form or another.

    Hello Mark,
I have been a Faithlife Connect Essentials without Library from the beginning. I have Logos 10 and bought the Logos 10 full feature Set.

I subscribed to the Logos Pro (early access) immediately I heard about it.

Then I heard about the Logos Max (early access) and that I could upgrade to that. I upgraded from Logos Pro (early access) to Logos Max (early access).

Now that Faithlife Connect Essentials subscribers have been migrated to Logos Pro (early access), my subscription has been migrated to Logos Pro (early access.

I now have two subscriptions as follows:

Faithlife Connect Essentials (formerly Logos Now) + Logos Pro (early access) - Annual $99.99
This will automatically renew in October 14 2024

Logos Max (early access) - Annual $129.99
This will renew on July 2025

I was expecting that when the migration is done I will have just one subscription and not two.
Please, what is the correct situation and what am I to do?

    Thanks

Look at Mark's original post explaining this:

If you are already subscribed to Logos Max, we will NOT automatically cancel your subscription because that would mean you would lose access to the additional 100 books that come with Max, along with any Logos Max Legacy Fallback License qualification you might have accrued. You can choose to cancel the renewal yourself, of course. Regardless of what choice you make, any outstanding time left on your Max subscription will be added to your Connect subscription.

This is the from the OP on this thread.

I'm just confused.  Im a grandfathered Logos NOW customer.  My renewal of $99 is in February yearly, and its listed in my Subscriptions to do so again in Feb 2025. However, I was charged $54.36 on 8/7/2024 for" Faithlife Connect Essentials (formerly Logos Now) + Logos Pro (early access) - Annual"

Is this an additonal repeating charge, and will Is till get charged $99 in February?

What plan am I on/put on now?

    What am I losing/gaining?

    image

Thanks for bringing this up, Stuart. I was also charged but did not order anything. I'm eager to find out about this before calling customer support.

I would also like a little more explanation on how the charge actually happened. I have a 99 dollar connect renewal in may. I had also been paying 9.99 a month for the new AI stuff. then I changed it to the 129$ for the new plan. Then the announcement was made that it would all happen by itself and my renewal date would get extended based on how much time was left on connect. but that didn't seem to happen. on top of that, I went back to my order history and could tell that there were some kind of adjustments made post purchase but it was some kinda math that I couldn't follow.
