Restore toggle functionality to the 'Add Versions' button

I like the repositioning of the 'Add Versions' button in Bible Search, and I like the addition of the ability to 'remove all' versions.
However, we've lost the simplicity of the toggle on/off feature of the previous 'Multiple books display' button. The previous button had the button and its dropdown clickable separately so that you could just push the button to toggle your comparison version on and off once you've set it. See attached (v29 has Toggle + Drop Down; v30 has Drop Down only).
Can this separation of button and dropdown be added back to the "Add Versions" button so that once I set a comparison I use the most I can just click once to toggle it on and off? In v30 I now have to click twice instead of once to add a version. One click is always better than two.

@Kiyah – I agree that one click is better than two. We took the decision to switch to two because the vast majority of our userbase didn't understand the split menu, and got confused by the on/off toggle being separate from the selection operations. We're hopeful this is a net improvement, even though it is an extra click for those who did understand it.0
