adding versions to a passage list

I work a lot with the Hebrew OT and the Septuagint, but I think others would use this too.

So I want to see how the Septuagint uses a particular word. So I made a passage list from an entry in a Greek lexicon of the LXX. I want to add the Hebrew and English to it as well, just like in a search. But i don't see that option. I think it should be there.

Thank you

We can add multiple versions - click the version that is currently showing and select Bibles or collections from the dropdown menu

There isn't the option, however, to show multiple versions side by side - just vertically.

i am not getting the menu that you are. If I do a search and want to save the results as a passage guide, I have that option.

I selected text from a lexicon and made a passage guide from that. When I click on the version, I have options but not multiple ones. there are no boxes to check. If I click on one, it substitutes it. It did give me one multiple version option, but not the one I wanted and no option to change it.

Try creating a Collection of the versions you want to use and then select that.

I am seeing now another problem with this. I have mentioned this before with Bible search results.

The English, Greek OT, and Hebrew OT often have different verse numbers for the same verses. Sometimes all three for the same verse.

I just created a passage list from a LXX lexicon.

    Lv 11,10; Ps 18 (19),3; Hos 11,10; Am 3,4.8
to discharge (of water) [abs.] Lv 11,10; to utter [τι] Ps 18 (19),3; to bellow, to roar [abs.] Hos 11,10

Johan Lust, Erik Eynikel, and Katrin Hauspie, A Greek-English Lexicon of the Septuagint : Revised Edition (Deutsche Bibelgesellschaft: Stuttgart, 2003).

so here the LXX is Psalm 18, but the English and Hebrew are Psalm 19. The passage list has the right passage, but they are all listed as Psalm 18.

No problem - that is what Logos verse maps are for

Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

    @Larry Craig

I made a collection but I can't put the Bibles in the order I want.

What you could do is set up a number of Bibles as parallel texts and then filter by your Passage List.

I think that gives you what you are looking for - and you can order the Bibles as you wish

I don't see how you did what you did, but I can play around with it. The bigger point is that I shouldn't have to play around with this. Logos already does similar things with searches. A passage list is similar to that.

    thanks again.

Actually when I do Bible searches with Hebrew, Greek, and English, I end up just copying and pasting three separate lists of verses and then organizing them myself. The Hebrew fonts look like scrawl, and Logos doesn't print the verse numbers for everything but the main text. But that's another issue.
