Send highlights to ReadWise

Integrate Logos with ReadWise (www.ReadWise.io), a service to help readers curate and review their digital highlights. ReadWise was recently endorsed by Tim Challies, and their website says they have thousands of users. I've just begun using the service, but to collect my highlights from Logos alongside my other electronic reading notes would be amazing!

I’m beginning to adjust my purchases from Logos books to Kindle because the functions built into Readwise are more helpful long term - specifically with non-academic books. Adding this feature will increase Logos book sales and make all of us happy. Win-win!

This would literally be a game changer. I do all my writing and lesson prep inside of Obsidian and having readies integration would mean having native access to my logos highlights for quick and easy quoting! Kindle already has this feature and this is a prominent reason I get ebooks through them rather then logos.

I agree with all of you. I have adjusted my book purchases to Kindle so I can sync notes and highlights with Readwise. I am sure there are some hurdles, based on the way Logos currates highlights and notes. But it would immediately change the source of my book purchases BACK to Logos when available. Readwise is such an amazing tool.

Absolutely! I've been using Readwise for several years for consolidation of notes and highlights from almost all of my digital sources including ebooks, web, podcasts (via Scribd player), pdfs, and the new ReadWise Reader read-later app. This is critical to my personal workflow. Has anyone tried to export clippings from Logos? Maybe that would work though I'd prefer an API integration.

Yes, please. I'm relatively new to Readwise, but it's quickly become essential to me. I'm a Kindle user and have been since the first Kindle was released. I'm a happy user of electronic books. But I've never invested much in Logos books. The platform is simply too self-contained. If you want me to invest more of my really large book budge in Logos, I have to be able to use Logos books outside of Logos.

This would be huge for me. Since I'm collecting all of my highlights in Readwise, I often buy from places other than Logos so they can be a part of my collection. If Logos was connected, I could add my Logos books too.

Please make this a priority. The ability to integrate my Logos highlights into my Obsidian vault would be monumental. Rather than pulling traffic or usage away from Logos, I think you all will find this will encourage users to interact more with their Logos digital library.

Absolutely. I’ve been a Readwise.io user since the original beta. I use it to manage thousands of highlights made in Kindle, Apple Books, Snipd (podcasts), web-pages, and more. I’d like to buy more books from within Logos due to potential linkages to other resources but frankly, my notes and highlights are trapped there. Please work with Readwise to share my highlights.

I don't know of a Logos user (maybe there are a few, lol) that wouldn't want a seamless way to capture and review key insights , quotes , and highlights from their Bible study and book reading times. By doing this , it would allow users to easily revisit and reflect on there meaningful , helpful , and valuable insights , enhancing their learning and retention of biblical truths! PLEASE DO THIS!

This would be a huge benefit, especially for syncing my Bible Study Notes and my Highlights from books that I've read through Logos. Would love to move my library fully and completely to Logos, but this is a sticking point for sure.

The closed nature of Logos prevents me from buying more books from Logos. I'm willing to pay more if the highlights of Logo books could be sent to Readwise. Otherwise, when available I will seriously consider buying the Kindle versions instead.

I'm closing in on two years of Readwise daily usage. Those Kindle/PDF book highlights keep coming to me daily.

This has a real impact on my life - first time I've been truly able to remember and reflect that much on those pearls which keep coming to me at a reasonable rate.

As a result I've been wishing at least weekly that Logos either integrates with Readwise, or produces equivalent features, so that my most important reads could have the same impact on me.

Sincerely, there's nothing I've been wishing more about Logos than this.

It would probably be much easier (legally) for Faithlife to build the features inside its apps instead of building a sync to Readwise (as proof, see how some of our kindle highlights, when too numerous for a book, can't make it to Readwise.)

A feature directly implemented inside of Logos (with sufficient investment) would also provide much more power. Not just "full content - all your highlights without legal concerns" better, but also functionally better: hover or click on the highlight and get back to it in the book where you captured it, where you can review its context and refine its note right there: this would be superbly magnificent.

Habit-building/-keeping features: a perfect match for a Logos Pro subscription!

Of course, if you use a third leg, e.g. (1) Kindle => (2) Readwise => (3) Roam/Tana/RemNote/Notion/whatever, then you wouldn't be happy if Faithlife only produced their own internal features. As for me, as much as Roam has been an eye-opening experience for me, as much I don't want to use such an external unintegrated tool for my notes. So my other wish has been (for a longer time than Readwise-equivalent features) that Faithlife may come to sufficiently understand the value of e.g. Roam-like note taking to eventually decide to invest much more in its notes tools. (RemNote, which somehow looks like Roam + Readwise, might be quite the inspiration for Faithlife, too.)

I definitely agree that Logos should make their notes, highlights, and user-created content, more accessible outside of Logos through exporting and deep linking. But I'd hesitate to propose integration with any one particular application or service (e.g., ReadWise). I say this because it's unrealistic that Logos would attempt to be a comprehensive note-taking solution. For example, I don't want my daily journal, notes on current events, or a podcast to be kept in Logos. I do want to pull out of Logos notes and highlights. I do want to link back into Logos to find the resources related to those notes and highlights. And, despite how much I like ReadWise, I don't want that functionality to be dependent upon integration with one service. I think the export tools are currently too cumbersome. They don't sort notes in order they are anchored within the resource (or I haven't figured out how). And they don't provide universal back-linking into the resource.

Logos really needs to have integration with Readwise. The lack of integration puts me off buying books in Logos. I know that all my highlights from Kindle and Kobo will go to Readwise and Obsidian where I can work with them.

This is three years old. Just add a csv export option at the very least. This should be an incredible easy button for Logos to hit on a much-wanted feature that would only encourage folks to buy books from Logos rather than Kindle. As of now, all my "reading" books are still Kindle or physical, because of Readwise integration. I have no idea of sales numbers for Logos books, but they're certainly missing out on some sales because of the relatively easily implemented wish list item.

Any news on this issue? Please Logos help us out wit the latest technologies otherwise you will stay behind and it will be much better by books on Amazon than in Logos.

This would be a game-changer for me. I read books in Kindle and Perlego (which also doesn’t facilitate integration with Readwise). Being able to gather up all my notes and highlights from different sources is driving me towards buying books in Kindle rather than Logos nowadays, particularly monographs. I also use Obsidian and being able to access my notes from Logos is a real need for me.

I resonate deeply with what has been shared here. As a Logos user and building my library for over two decades, my notes and highlights feel trapped and unable to participate in research and project workflows.
This functionality would be so helpful. I too have been purchasing more books outside of Logos for this reason.

Bump! I would love to see Logos consider adding this integration. @FortisFides I agree, I would love to see markdown export support as well.

Sometimes I feel that the goal is to keep us "trapped" using Logos for everything. I have spent a lot of money in Logos, and I plan to keep spending a lot of money in the future. However, I would love to see Logos take these concerns seriously. I don't want my research "trapped" in only one program. I would love to have the ability to download all my Logos Notes in markdown (.md) format to backup for the future. I'd love to be able to integrate with things like Notion, Obsidian, ReadWise, and others. Logos will always be a part of my workflow. I just don't particularly want it to be the only part :D

Has anyone heard any news with this? Readwise can export right to my Obsidian vault so this would be perfect for me. I would actually start to purchase my non-bible books on Logos if they ever did this.

The new ePub functionality in the Readwise Reader app is great. I have moved to purchasing from bookshop.org where possible to get an epub and then putting it directly in readwise. There is no reason to read and highlight in Logos until they fix this.

I am buying books almost exclusively on Kindle now and no longer on Logos due to the latter's lack of integration with Readwise. Is there any hope Logos will change in this area? I know it's been a few years since this was first requested so should we give up hope?

If syncing with Readwise just isn't going to happen, does anyone know if there's a chance Logos might develop similar functionality themselves? It shouldn't be too hard to take book highlights and turn them into flashcards and for a batch of 10 or so of them to pop up on a user's phone each day, to help users review their reading/learning?

If either a native feature or integration would Readwise could be developed, I would start buying books on Logos again - at present there's little incentive to, especially when Kindle books are much cheaper.
