Not a fan (at all) of daily having to click through the sales banner/bar at the top of the app.
Turn it off in Settings
It cannot be turned off.
This is very sad for Bible software.
Well, absent the setting, they also said if you close it, it stays closed (so they say).
But I agree with you.
Popped up twice within 1-2 days for me. Not trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, but having bought a perpetual license before they were ended and owning my library, feel it is a bit much - especially given the fact that it pops up once you go into a layout and it has to be closed to take full advantage of your display area.
Also didn't realize they could be turned off so I'll take a look and see if that might help.
If you have an active Logos subscription, or you have purchased a Logos base package in the last few years, you can turn off the layout banner in Settings. You can also turn off the banner on the dashboard in the gear (⚙️), as separate setting .
Whether or not you have a paid Logos product, you can close any banner, and that particular message will not appear again.
If you find that either of these aren't the case for you, please let us know; that should be a considered a bug that we need to fix.
What do you mean by "Logos base package in the last few years"? I purchased Logos 8 Academic Essentials in 2019. Now the Show Banners setting is disabled with a help text: "This setting can only be changed once a qualified product is licensed." What is a qualified product?
@Reed Law , sorry for the vague wording. We left it intentionally a bit open-ended, since the definition can change over time. "Last few years" typically means about 4-5 years.
At this time, a "qualified product" means any one of:
Thanks for the reply, but this situation inspires no confidence in Logos. If I knew in 2019 that my purchase would someday become adware I would have thought twice.
Noted. Thanks for the feedback.

Build your biblical library with a new trusted commentary or resource every month. Yours to keep forever.
I'd love to see Logos build an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so users can connect their Logos library directly to AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and others. Right now, Logos and AI assistants are completely siloed. An MCP integration would let me query my commentaries, lexicons, and original language resources from…
Please allow us to prioritize our resources in separate categories.
Prioritization needs to be simplified. Among the requirements should be: 1. The ability to see/specify the index the prioritization applies to 2. The ability to apply advanced prioritization to a collection of resources 3. A new ability to apply advanced prioritization to specific tools 4. An easy way to see resources that…
I know logos is able to print up flash cards, BUT can we get a tool that does flash cards?! I’m envisioning a simple displays Hebrew/Greek/Aramaic/Ugaritic/etc. word then touch screen/click, ‘turn’ card then definition. I don’t know how this doesn’t already exist. Ideally this would include frequency word lists that we…
The new Study Assistant and the improved search are two powerful tools for exploring what we have in our library. However, when we compare them to some features in ChatGPT and Gemini, we still miss some functionalities that could really help us. In Gemini, we have the “Deep Research” feature. In this mode, the answer is…
