Okay, I give in...
The Forum Week Round-Up blog post that appeared not long ago says that Logos "hid an as-of-yet-undiscovered Easter egg." I've been searching since I read that, but I can't find anything anywhere.
Does anyone else have any ideas? Seen any suspicious activity?!

- I checked the "Unread" threads. Nothing.
- I checked the "Unanswered" threads. Nothing.
- I checked the Logos employee roster (A bunch of them need to get avatars!)
- I added an item to my checkout and deleted because, Nope, you guessed it. No egg there.
- I even highlighted Stephen's posts to see if he used white text on white background like the keyword spammers do.

I think I have found it...

If that's it, it's very disappointing!
I think I have found it...
Is this not the same exact egg the Todd posted here? http://community.logos.com/forums/p/34712/260747.aspx#260747

I thought the same. They do have slightly extensions, however.
Todd's also links to a different image altogether, whereas Stephen's is the same.
Anyhows, I think we're barking up the wrong egg here.

Umm, no...that's not it. I still think that my egg from the earlier post is correct. But I found the REAL Ishtar Egg...
Okay, so that makes two! You can send my $2000 gift card to the aformentioned address.

The only thing out of the ordinary I've noticed so far is that Stephen's link to the post about what computer Bob uses gives an error message. I guess it's theoretically possible that he meant to change that link into an Easter egg link after the competition was finished, but something went wrong. Or that one time out of a hundred you do get the Easter egg from that link. But probably not. [:)]
Wait, there's also the fact that an image from that blog post seems to have caused crashes on Windows. Maybe the Easter egg was in the image, but Logos couldn't handle it? [:P]

never fear, there's nothing to this possible lead
Didn't think there was. [:)]
wonder why it doesn't for you
Probably because your link in the post looks like this: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/33729/255130.aspx#255130
but when it turned up in my browser it looked like this: http://community.logos.com/forums/AddPost.aspx/p/33729/255130.aspx#255130.
Works now, though.

Where, oh where, can it be?
I think they have yet to load the Easter egg. (It hasn't yet been found because it hasn't yet been laid.)

I went through part of the site's source code
Come on, guys. Focus!
Isn't the Easter egg in the post made by Todd Phillips in this same thread? Or do I not completely understand what everyone is looking for? [*-)]

Hi Scott,
The term Easter egg is a term commonly used by computer programmers and software programmers that simply means there is a hidden surprise somewhere if you can find it. I don't think that we are looking for a literal Easter egg such as the picture that Todd posted. There is a secret sell somewhere in the forums, we just have to find it.
I am thinking that Stephen is dropping hints when he says "I'll keep my eye out...." and "C'mon guys focus". As an example, when he said "I'll keep my eye out" I immediately hovered my mouse over his eye in his avatar picture to see if there was a hidden link.
I thought you guys would have figured this out by the time I woke up and came back to the computer!
I am thinking that Stephen is dropping hints when he says "I'll keep my eye out...." and "C'mon guys focus".
My thoughts too.
As an example, when he said "I'll keep my eye out" I immediately hovered my mouse over his eye in his avatar picture to see if there was a hidden link.
There's also Peter Venable's avatar:
I suspect that there's a hidden link somewhere, probably in one of Stephen Smith's posts.
Tried most of them yesterday.
Google search for site:community.logos.com easter egg found some items:
Tried that as well yesterday.
I suspect the tags which seem rather odd given the forum we're in:
Couldn't see the lower two yesterday, but the fanboy one definitely raised my suspicions as well. The fact that there are two new ones now may indicate that we're on to something.
They all seem to be related to Easter Eggs in L4 whereas I suspect the Egg that Stephen was referring to is somewhere in the forums.
Not convinced. Notice that when I listed two nutty ideas, just to suggest something, Stephen was quick to shoot down the first one (forums), but not the second (L4). Downloading an Easter egg to L4's Home Page through the very blog post that announced that Easter egg would be pretty ingenious.

It's easy to work out - the Logos magnifying glass focuses on the cross, as has been mentioned, and he gave us the clue of "eye" which brings us to "cross-eyed". If you search Logos.com for cross eyed you get.... dundundundun...

I'm not sure that really classes as an Easter egg! But I didn't know I had that resource, so thanks for the tip!
Come on, guys. Focus
Wasn't sure where to post this. But is this the easter egg? The text in Thomas Black's statement about his cell phone number and his office above Bob's, turns green when hovered over.

Peace, my Brothers and Sisters! *smile*
The closest I can come to an "Easter Egg" is the stylised cross that Stephen is wearing. I had to "stretch" him to come up with the cross. The Cross over the heart! *smile*

Okay, this is old (previously discovered) but Patrick S. found this interesting Easter Egg in L4Mac and included a screenclip:
Thogh not an easter egg I also found this cute screen:
And has anyone noticed that Stevens phosts this week are not showing up in his "history?

I FOUND THE EASTER EGG!!!!
It was hiding in the Meet and Great forum, just like others suspected...
but upon closer inspection, it is obvious that this is just a clever ploy...nobody in Alabama would ever use Logos Bible software!

Indeed, it looks like you did. Congratulations. You know Logos doesn't have to use snail mail. If your account gets credited you can use it right away. $1000?? I would have tried harder. $1000? [C]

I don't think that is it...especially since that poster has a posting history. [:^)] It's not the sort of easter egg I would think they are referring to.
Alright. Figured I should jump in here before someone gets hurt.
I am not an coding genius, nor am I a genius in general....I could never do or think of some of the things suggested.
It was entirely coincidental that the words "eye" and "focus" have a related meaning. The first post was nothing more than me saying, "I've noticed this conversation and am thrilled that the mention in the blog post got picked up in the forums."
The second post was a hint, but not nearly as cryptic as some of you think....but look closely: it could definitely help you "focus" your hunt.
And the topics word cloud, Thomas? That was seriously pretty ingenious and hilarious! But I don't know why those tags are showing up....my guess is that very few if any of the posts in Forum Week are tagged but the forum software wants that field populated....just a thought.
Also, I don't suggest going through all the new posters' post in the Meet and Greet thread...there's over 200 of them that are 5 or less posts...digging through them would be so time consuming that I would feel terrible having let somebody spend it so unfruitfully.
For what it's worth: here's the definition (straight from Wikipedia) that I'm using: A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, in-joke, or feature in a work such as a computer program, web page, video game, movie, book, or crossword.
"Message, in-joke, or feature"
In a medium that doesn't necessarily require it to be a programming- or even technical-level "message, in-joke, or feature."
Finally, for clarity. I came up with. I did it. It's not the result of a Google-like brainstorming meeting held among the managers over every Logos department. That level of Easter egg is never even hinted at that it exists.
Figured I should jump in here before someone gets hurt.
Thanks. This was starting to get painful.
The second post was a hint, but not nearly as cryptic as some of you think....but look closely: it could definitely help you "focus" your hunt.
Still sounds cryptic to me!
Also, I don't suggest going through all the new posters' post in the Meet and Greet thread
Phew! I was genuinely considering doing that too!
"Message, in-joke, or feature"
So which is it!?
It's not the result of a Google-like brainstorming meeting held among the managers over every Logos department. That level of Easter egg is never even hinted at that it exists.
Does that mean that they do exist!!!!???? [:O]
"Message, in-joke, or feature"
Well, here's an 'in-joke' (italics and underlined below) but I'm not sure it rises to the level of easter egg:
So, here's the plan: post anything you want right in this
thread....it doesn't matter how off-topic or, for the benefit of
certain unnamed pup...er...people, useless the comment is.

Is the easter egg the potential double meaning of major milestone, as it would also refer to the use of milestones in PBB's , in your post.

My 'hunch' is that whatever this Easter egg is, it will be somewhere within the 'Forum Week' forum. That post is available to anyone with or without a Logos.com account.

an in-joke that people familiar with the forums should be able spot as incongruous and then discover what it really is/means.

Alright, as I've stated in the off-topic thread, I took a glance at the source code for the main page of forum week. I'm not really the one to be browsing it, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary there.
I'll keep looking in other places though.
