Highlighting and Notes Capability
When are we going to get highlighting and notes capability for the iPad. The program is great for reading books, but thats about it. It is worthless when I'm on the road or at group Bible studies. I can't highlight or take notes as I go, and I don't have access to my notes and highlights from my desktop Logos. I find myself going to another Bible application which has all this capability and then copying the info to my desktop as needed. And why was time and effort wasted putting together another App called Vyrso when all that time and effort could have been put into getting highlight and note taking capability. Vyrso is a waste of time. It doesn't do anything different then the Logos App, in fact everything looks exactly the same. I prefer buying books for Nook or Kindle where I can mark them up with highlights and my own notes and annotations. I have noticed after reading through some of the forum entries that Logos does not seem to be interested in fixing this problem, and that is truly unfortunate.

I hope soon means this month! I know it can sound rather impatient, but its been over a year, and other Bible apps have had these abilities for months. I look forward to being able to have the highlighting features from Logos and note taking abilities. When those have been added, along with the ability to add PBB Logos will be my main Bible study app!In a recent post, Bob said "very soon."
I hope Bob's "very soon" is to your (and my) liking.
Here is a way I thought they could be used. Create a Bible Study Guide and have the ability to take notes, and highlight the guide on the iPad when you are in your small group! It will be great!0 -
Observation: Logos 4.3 Beta 6 release notes include: "Sync of new/edited Copy Bible Verses styles will fail on a stable install where the login is also used for a beta install. (http://community.logos.com/forums/t/33714.aspx or http://community.logos.com/forums/t/33715.aspx)" since sync being revamped.
Hence speculating "very soon" for iOS app may coincide with Logos 4.3 stable release that includes Personal Book Builder (PBB) and revamped sync.

Just throwing my weight behind these requests. I would love to have the note, highlight (and preferably clipping) abilities on my iPad. So much more convenient to read than from a PC. I am studying theology part time, and I only use paper books when I really have to. I am reading books on Kindle, iAnnotate (PDF) etc., but my most valuable books in Logos I can not read for academic purposes because of the lack of note taking!
Also, there is a lot more potential for the iPad's Logos App home page. I love the PC version's news paper feel and its ability to draw you into your library. If I look at apps from CNN and other news vendors, the iPad provides an ideal platform to utilize this format.
Please Logos. You are the best Bible Software vendor out there, but these small additions to your mobile platforms would go so much further in establishing that fact. Why lose users to other software? Granted, you probably have more platforms and copyright issues to deal with than others, so perhaps we should be careful to just presume it is a very easy thing to add. Still, it would be great if you could push it up on your priority list!

My weight too, which physically is rather substantial, though in terms of buying power, perhaps less so.

As a Logos 4 Mac, PC, and iPad user with Many Volunteer Posts (MVP), Thankful for Bob Pritchett's reply couple weeks ago => Highlighting and notes a needed feature.
Highlighting and notes are coming very soon for both the Logos and Vyrso mobile applications. We're presently behind the other mobile eBook readers in that area, but when we release we'll suddenly be miles ahead. :-)
You'll have the power of Logos 4's highlighting and notes, including the graphical highlight styles and the ability to have multiple note files. And, soon, the ability to share your notes and highlights with groups, or the whole world.
Mac Beta post => Important changes to sync feature coming in 4.3 Beta 6 included:
Tonya J Ross: The re-writing of the sync feature is being done in order to pave the way for some exciting future features (groups, sharing, collaboration, etc.)
Speculating sync update could include Logos mobile applications so "very soon" may be in conjunction with Logos 4.3 stable release so can sync highlighting and notes between mobile devices and Logos 4, which would be "miles ahead"
Logos 4 Mac post => OSX Lion 10.7 includes reply by Mac technical lead about Logos 4.3 (current beta version) and OS X Lion:
If 4.3 is not complete by the time Lion is released, there will be a service release for 4.2b.
Apple has posted "Coming in July" for OS X Lion while iOS 5 (free upgrade for iPhone/iPad) is "Coming this fall".

I would also like to add my "weight" to the request for highlighting and note taking. I am using another iPad app for my preferred Bible so that I can highlight in it and put notes in it.

Looking forward to future Logos releases on many platforms. Logos 4.3 Beta has had weekly releases for past 3 weeks, which is an indication of 4.3 Beta development nearing stable release soon (typically Logos 4 Beta releases are couple weeks apart).
