PB macros for Word 2010 & 2007
Here are some macros which will assist you when building a Personal Book (PB) in Word. Please follow the steps when installing them.
below is a link to a short demo of the macros (my screen recorder does not show pop-up windows that Logos shows, so as i am moving in the later part of the video in the PB i am hovering over links and L4 is showing them but the video does not show them)

Below is the ZIP file which contains the macro template and a few other files as describe a little further down)
One of the files inside of the Zip is Adding the macros to Word.pdf. It is instructions on how to add the macro template to Word.
Also in this document are instructions on how add the Custom Ribbon with the Logos4 Macros Tab (see below). On this tab are buttons which tie to each of the macros.
This custom tab does not work in Word 2007, but you can look on Microsoft's site for instructions on add command to you Quick Link bar and there add the macros one at a time to your Quick Link bar.
And finally in the Zip is a PDF file L4 PB Macro Template Information.pdf which has information on each of the macros.
I have Word 2003 as well, but i have not made a PDF on how to install it (perhaps later i will do that).

Added the ability to the Logos4 URL macro to use either WIKI or URL methods from the Logos4 menu. Decided to add the URL method after watching MP video, since he suggests using this method i decided that users may try to follow his lead. Now the Logos4 URL macro will work with both.

Guess that you saw the instructions further down in the PDF instructions for doing this. But if the do not work, then you can look on Microsoft's site and learn how to add a Tab to your user interface ribbon, then add the groups & buttons manually to each macro.

This is where I got to:
i am guessing here
A. Inside of the Customize Toolbars window you might try clicking on All Commands , i am guessing that you will see more commands appear in this list than you are currently seeing in the list. Then in the updated list look for Macro or Macro commands and if you see the individual macro commands you can add them one at a time to create individual buttons for each command. Since i do not have a Mac or Mac Office i cannot help beyond this.
But even if you cannot add buttons, you can run a macro from this window. Simply find the macro that you want and click on it, then click on the Run button. Word will then execute the macro. Don't forget to position your cursor in Word where you want the macro to place it prior to opening this window though.

i have added another macro to the set of macros, HyperLink L4Filename. i used it while making a PB with all my document links (see this post).
If you already have added my macros earlier you will need to follow the steps in the attached PDF Adding the macros to Word again to: add the macro & add the new Tab. Also the Macro Information PDF has been updated which tells you how to use it.

As I am trying to use it in my Office 2010 it always changes the format of the reference. Am I doing something wrong? How to use those macros and keep the formatting of the reference I want to put tags to? To get back to the original formatting of the reference I have to hit UNDO icon.

When you say format i am guessing that you mean Style (at least that is what Word calls it in the English version; i have seen it call other things in a different language version of Word).
i found that the PB compiler often fails when 2 Styles are mixed in a single tag. So each of the macros assigns a new Style which is generated by a hidden part of my macro system PB No Format. After you have entered a tag via the macro, you can change PB No Format style and it will change all other macro inserted text to that style and Word will remember the new format for that style in your Word document.
1. This is the default style that the macros build and use.
2. After inserting this macro tag, i have selected all its text. Then i changed the Font & size (you can change other characteristics as well if you want). Notice that Word created a new alternate style based on PB No Format.
3. If you select the text of your alternate version...
4. Then right-click on the original PB No Format style, a pop-up menu appears. Now if you click on Update PB No Format to Match Selection,
5. Word will change the original PB No Format style to match your
adjusted style and Word will change all macro text that you have in your
document to be just like your adjusted style. Further more any new
macro text that you enter into your document will always match this
style with changes that you made. Notice that the altered style name
went away, PB No Format was changed to match your altered style.EDIT:
Here is an example of mixed formatting in a tag
1. Notice that i have made the verse number BOLD and did nothing else to the rest of the tag.
2. And here i made the whole tag BOLD. (so that there is a single style added to the whole tag)
3. Now after making a PB we see that L4 ignored our PB tagging when the styles were mixed.
4. But L4 accepted our single formatted tag and it also made our verse number BOLD.
This is what i meant when PB does not like mixed styles within a tag. And this is why i added the new Style in my macros. In the first part of this where i showed you how to alter the style, i forgot to mention that you also can individually alter a tag and not follow steps to make all tags like it, yes you will have alternates for the PB No Format, but that will not cause you any problems.

I have been trying to get this working in Office 2007 and failing.
I needed to follow a different path to get the template document in the template area (commands seem to be different) but I was able to do this.
If I use the Developer menu I can attach your template
but I can't see any of the macros
any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong?

You have successfully linked the macros to your word doc by opening that window & checking the macro file.
But to see the macros you will need to do the following from within the word doc
(Below is an image for word 2007 that i got off the net, if you follow the 3 steps in the image a window will pop-up which shows my macros. From within that window you can select one in the window and then press the Run button.)
After you do this a couple of times learning how to run different macros, you will want to assign the macros to different buttons which will allow you to reduce the steps from 5 to 1. You will want to assign each macro to a new button and rename each individual macro button. Below are a couple of websites which can help you in this process: (i don't have 2007. these sites may talk about recording a macro, but if you skip down a little they also tell how to assign a macro to a button which will show up in your toolbar)

In the future when you start a new PB docx file if you start it based on the macro file template then it should automatically add my macro file to your document. Otherwise you will need to do as you have done with the images you showed in your post.

You will probably want to delete the current macro file and add the new one inside the zip file, there are instruction in a PDF inside the zip.

You are RIGHT, i was in a hurry this morning before leaving the house.
But there still seems to be a problem with the macro file that you have, the one in your window shows this filename
And the one in the zip (the one you showed that was RIGHT) shows this filename
So i am guessing this is your problem. You have one of the early macro files in which i did not save the macros in the correct place (e.g. i saved them at first in Normal instead of under the template filename area in VB Editor). This is exactly what i would expect to happen. So i would advise deleting the template file L4_PB Template.dotm from your template folder. Then extract the newer template file L4_PB Macros.dotm from the Zip and placing it in your template folder. Next you will need to:
- Use the Developer Tab to open the window Templates and Add-ins as you first showed.
- Then remove the old filename L4_PB Template.dotm by clicking the Remove button
- Then use the Add button to find the newer macro file L4_PB Macros.dotm which you extracted from the zip file.
- Then make sure that it is checked in the window.
- Then close that window.
- Then you should be able to click the View tab and click on Macros and click on View Macros and see the macros.

I also found out that I was putting the template file in the wrong place - I was putting it in C:\Program Files\...\Office\Templates as opposed to the template area in my profile!

Does anyone know if I am able to use these macros in Libre Office? Or do you know if someone else has created macros or some sort of add on for Libre Office in making PBB's. If I knew what I was doing I'd be willing to do it.
