Based on what Bradley has said, you should only need to upgrade.

will there be two Prerequisites; one for x86 and the other for x64?
There will be two.
Dave Hooton said:Does this mean we cannot have a 32-bit and a 64-bit installation on the same machine
You should be able to, but I guess we'll find out in the beta.
Will 64 bit Logos 5 and Verbum use different registry keys ? Also, will Windows need 32 bit and 64 bit RSS feeds with links to installers ?
Noticed 32 bit Logos 5 uses HKCU\Software\Logos4 and 32 bit Verbum uses HKCU\Software\Verbum

Thanks for moving forward with all of these changes!

Will 64 bit Logos 5 and Verbum use different registry keys ?
No, it's an in-place upgrade that uses the same registry keys and folders.
Also, will Windows need 32 bit and 64 bit RSS feeds with links to installers ?
No, the one RSS feed will include both the 32-bit and 64-bit installer and the automatic updater will choose the right one for your OS.

Sounds good - looking forward to trying this.

I hope it takes advantage of the Xeon Phi coprocessors with 61 cores, 244 threads, 512-bit vectors, and 352 GB/s memory bandwidth.

Are those even windows compatible yet? last time I read about those your windows pc viewed it as another computing device across the network. Seems like that would be less than useful for logos at this point.Mr. Simple said:I hope it takes advantage of the Xeon Phi coprocessors with 61 cores, 244 threads, 512-bit vectors, and 352 GB/s memory bandwidth.

Don't forget though that I am having other issues - my logos installation is experiencing "something strange". Here is the thread. The two things may be related, thus my question.

Any hints on what the "exciting new feature" might be?

The exciting new feature has not been announced yet. The changes in 5.3 are architectural in nature (see Bradley's comment about "internals being rewritten"). The actual feature will probably not be shipping in 5.3.

Your installation is logging an extremely high number of corrupted databases.
Is this the same hardware you were running 5.2b on (without issues, I assume)?
Do you ever log off or shut down Windows while Logos 5 is running, or do you exit Logos and wait for it to finish exiting before logging off your computer? (I'm trying to think of reasons why DBs might not be saving correctly.)

Same hardware. No issues with 5.2b. I almost never turn my computer off - maybe once a week. But when I do, Logos is closed.
I deleted every .db I could find, and then let Logos re-download, and re-index. I at least have all my resources back.L2 lvl4 (...) WORDsearch, all the way through L10,

"Installing the 64-bit 5.3 Beta 1 and 32-bit 5.2b on the same Windows computer (e.g., in different user accounts) will not work; the 32-bit version will crash at startup after 5.3 is installed."

You might find the suggestion at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/88684.aspx enables you to get this working.
