Question on Surface 3 with Verbum/Logos
I need to replace my tablet, but I'm having some moral issues with Apple at the moment and am looking for alternatives to the iPad Air 2. I was told to look into the Surface 3 (not pro). Of course the whole deal for me is if it will run Verbum/Logos.
From looking around the forums here, I have seen the full version is supposed to run on this. But what I would like to know is if I can use it like a tablet for personal reading as well.
I know the Surface isn't due out until next month, but I am curious if any of the Pro users have any insights for me, since I don't want a product that isn't going to work for me.

It looks like the Surface 3 does, indeed, run full windows, which means you would get the same experience as on your desktop.
From there, it sounds like you're looking for the "reading view" in the panel menu (press F11 on your desktop).
Does that seem like it will accomplish what you're looking for? Or do you have more specific needs for "personal reading?"

Actually, when I try F11, it kind of rolls the whole Verbum up to the top of the bar, exposing the Mac's desktop. Reading Command view is opened on Mac by shift command F according to the Verbum Help (which actually seems to toggle the search window on and off). If that's what the reading panel does, it doesn't really help because I want it to function like it does on a tablet where I tap the edge of the window and the page flips (similar to how Kindle works).
That's how Verbum performs as an Android app, and that's what I would like to have access to in a Surface.Hope that helps explain.

We don't currently have a Windows Store application for tablets (see https://community.logos.com/forums/t/99859.aspx). We're currently gathering interest (via Community Pricing) on the development of a Universal Windows App (that could run on tablets, phones & desktops): https://community.logos.com/forums/t/102025.aspx

Yes, you can run the full Verbum/Logos 6 on a Surface 3. It will be a little slower than on a Surface Pro, but should still be quite usable.
F11 is the way to reading mode in the Windows version of Verbum. The function keys work differently on my MacBook Pro as well.
Yes, having played with a Surface Pro 3, if you are in reading mode, you can flip the page forward by tapping the right side of the display, and back by tapping the left side. The Surface 3 should be the same.

OK, thanks for explaining that. I was concerned that having a full version would mean it would have to be read like it would on a laptop.

You may want to read through some of the other posts concerning the use of full Logos/Verbum on tablets with similar hardware as what will ship with the Surface 3. Here are two of them:

There are others. Many helpful comments and observations by experienced Logos users.
