I have added quite a few other books to the file over the last 18 months (mostly those on sale), but will work on those I picked up with Logos 7 before I post a new version.

Lane: Could you click the "Details" button in the error windows, and write or show with a screen shot what is written there? It may help. But basically Logos has not registered itself with Windows in the correct way. There are ways to try to make it register itself (which it should do when it is installed), but first I want to check the details before trying that.

Lane: Try this:
Open a command line window (for example with the Windows key+R, searching for the program cmd from the Start Menu, or in other ways, depending on your version of Windows - if you have trouble let me know writing what Windows version you have) and in that window type and execute the command
regsvr32 C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Logos\Logos.exe
putting the user name of Windows instead the angled brackets. That should fix any problems with the registration of Logos with Windows. Maybe it will fix the problem with my program as well.

If the program was copied there rather than being installed there (that is likely, since I don't think Logos gives you an option to change the directory during the installation), then it is certainly the reason. My program can not find Logos, because it was not registered with Windows during the installation. You could try the command
regsvr32 G:\Logos\Logos.exe
to see if that registers Logos with Windows properly.

Make sure that "G:\Logos\Logos.exe" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.

I was working from memory, but the memory wasn't good. Now that I have had an opportunity to check, I realised I gave you the wrong comand. You need to look for the file logoscom.exe. On my computer, it is in the c:\users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Logos\System\ folder. On your, it might be in the g:\logos\system\ folder, but it depends on how you managed to move your Logos installation to the G: drive. So the command to try is
regsvr32 path\to\folder\logoscom.exe
In your case, probably
regsvr32 G:\logos\system\logoscom.exe
but you need to check that the exe file is in fact in that folder.

Same message as above. And I checked that LogosCom.exe is in the G:\Logos\System folder.

I'm afraid I'm stuck. The problem is that Logos is not registered with Window, the cause is probably the customised installation, but I do not know how to fix the problem. Sorry.

I tried to load this as a personal book, but it wouldn't let me. Said it wasn't a true Word document. I guess maybe because there are links in it. I don't know much about this kind of stuff.

are you sure you used the correct file? I'm attaching it (just downloaded from Richard Wilson's April 2015 post and built as bible commentary without issues save two warnings in the log), just in case:

If Logos says it was not a true Word document, the most likely cause is that there was a problem with the download that corrupted the file. Try downloading it again.

I have added another 2300 references to my Index of Bible Studies, from the books I have obtained in the last couple of years. The Index Bible Studies.docx file can be added to Logos as a personal book, or you can use the program in the MyIndex.zip file (unzip all the contents, both files are needed for the program to run) to create a personal copy of the index of Bible studies that contains only the books that you own. There are more instructions on using these two files in previous posts in this thread

I have to agree, that this Index is extremely useful, in many ways the MOST useful.
Build it as a Commentary and...
1. add it as a shortcut
2. add it to a Linkset (watch miracles happen)
3. add it to a passage Guide to make the Guide more useful yet (Create a tag or Collection of Indices) -- I don't prefer this method.

Thank you very much for your formidable job!!!! As other brothers already said, this is one of the most used PBB´s in my library. I have a bilingual library (English / Spanish) but so far I get the index only for the English resources. It will be possible to modify your routine to catch resources in other languages apart of the English one?
I understand that this is your personal project, but it will be great to have this fabulous index for all resources in all languages.

The problem is that I create the index manually - when I have a new book, I go through it to look for suitable references, and copy the bookmarks to my Word file. If I don't have the book in Logos, I can't create the bookmark that is necessary. And I don't have many Spanish books in my library. The only possibility would be if someone else who owns these books created the bookmarks and sent them to me, and then I could insert them into my Word file.

I have updated my Index of Bible Studies. This contains links to sermons, meditations, outlines, journal articles, and more that do not appear in the Passage Guide. (Exception: some sermons now appear in the Passage Guide, but did not when I started, and I thought I would not remove them.) It is useful especially when preparing Bible studies or sermons on a certain passage, to find more ideas on the passage from your library that you could use.
To install the Index, download the Index Bible Studies.docx file, then use the Personal Books tool of Logos to create a new personal book. You can use whatever title you like, but it is best to set the type to "Bible commentary". On page 3 of this thread you can find a book cover that you can optionally use.
The index contains the books in my Logos library – there is a list at the end of the Index Bible Studies.docx file. Naturally, I can not include books that are in your library but not in my. However, it is possible to exclude books that are in my library but not in yours, which makes the resulting personal book easier to use. But only in Windows; the Mac version of Logos does not allow it. To do this, download and unzip the MyIndex.zip file. There should then be two files in a directory. Start the Index Bible Studies.exe program, which will open Logos (if it is not already open), read the names of all the books in your library, and then create a file My Index Bible Studies.rtf in your Documents directory. Open that file in Word or another word processor, and then save it as a docx file. Then create a personal book from that docx file.
This new version of the file has about 54,000 links to resources, about 7,000 more than the previous version at the beginning of the year. These are mainly from the Platinum library, which could be used freely for a few weeks recently, and a few other resources, mostly the free and heavily discounted ones.
