Bob- Thank you.

I had no idea about Faithlife Connect till I stumbled onto this thread. I guess because the auto-renew on my Logos Now account is unchecked, I didn't receive the initial email about being moved to from Now to Connect and am still trying to determine what all is going on. I don't think I have received anything about Faithlife Connect, blissfully unaware of its introduction. I guess I need to check out the Logos forums more often. [:)] I'm glad that concerns have (or "are") being satisfied.
My LN subscription is good into August, and I was debating whether to continue with Logos Now or revert to the full feature set. I now need to see what Faithlife Connect is all about and decide whether to go with the Connect Essentials--No Library. If I'm grandfathered in at the Logos Now $99/year subscription, I may go with it.

I voiced criticism when you made the decision, so now I must thank you and give kudos for the fact that you actually listened to your customers. Thank you!

Hi and GOD Bless you.
Thank you.

Thank you Bob. I think it's fantastic when a CEO can stand up and admit a mistake to his customers and then make it right. Like many others, I will be setting my auto-renew back to 'on.'

Everyone keeps talking about keeping or losing the $200 voucher. This may confuse some as not everyone got a $200 voucher. Mine for example was on $100. Not complaining as it simplifies my options.

Indeed David! Since you're suggesting something that is totally cholesterol free, might I also recommend an extra large can of Red Bull or a nice delicious Coke for an Afterburner effect. Strap in and enjoy the ride Bill. See ya in the New Year!

the best options to acquire this one at least ????? are.
If you would like to own the Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear Bible, see “This title is included as part of the following collections” on the right side of the product page.
Following that link, the Lexham Hebrew-English Interlinear Bible was not a resource/book that we had but rather a feature of the Logos 7 Full Feature Set that we got as a subscription benefit of Now. So I'm happy.
Marshall, Scott or anybody... does the Lexham Hebrew English Interlinear Bible now come with the new Faithlife Connect which is replacing Logos Now?
Thanks....

Thanks, but I’ve a little too much to do and have gotten the gist of it. At this point, it seems that Connect Essentials—No Library is worth keeping at the LN subscription price. I’ll re-engage auto-renew whenever that option is again available.

Dear Logos, any hint on when we might be able to re-engage auto-renew? Hopefully before I forget that I need to?

Out of curiosity... anyone know when we might see our subscriptions changed back (or changed to the new system)?

Phil, will those of us who meet this criteria be contacted via email? If so, any idea when that will start to happen? If not, how will we be contacted?Phil Gons (Faithlife) said:Mattillo said:Before all of this I rested at LN annual for $99. Will it stay at the annual rate or will it move to $9.99/month
If you weren't an active Logos Now member on 2/21 but were in the past, you'll receive an opportunity to take advantage of this special offer of Faithlife Connect Essentials (No Library) at Logos Now pricing, and you should be able to choose whether you want to pay monthly at $9.99 or annually at $99.99.
Thanks!

This is very good news. Thank you!
Question. I thought that Logos Now provides steady feature upgrades to the Logos base w/o all of the library updates. I see a lot of people on this thread talking about how they will now upgrade to Logos 8 (whenever it comes out). That's great, but for those of us who do not need major library enhancements, will Logos Now continue to give us Logos feature updates as they roll out? I have Logos 7, though I believe that I received it (bit by bit) as part of my subscription to Logos Now.

From what I can tell, Bill, we are already enrolled in Faithlife Connect. If I recall correctly, I went to connect.faithlife.com, logged in with my Faithlife credentials, found "Manage Subscriptions" at the bottom of the page, and discovered my LogosNow account would cease April 1 and my "Faithlife Connect Essentials - No Library (formerly Logos Now)" account would expire on August 29, the date when LN was to have expired. There I was able to choose auto-renew.
I'm not sure how good my memory is on the steps, but that should get you close.

I haven't gotten an email yet but I did check my subscriptions page and it was changed to:
Faithlife Connect Essentials - No Library (formerly Logos Now) - Annual @ $99.99/year

Were it not for the Logos forums, and this thread in particular, I would not know that Logos Now is almost no more and that I had been switched to Faithlife Connect. I've yet to receive anything from Faithlife about the change, evidently because my LN subscription was not set to auto-renew.
Still--no harm, no foul. It seems to be working out for the best. I may not have continued my LN subscription, but FCE -- No Library is worth keeping to me.

Thanks Bob, love your ownership of the problem but seriously you've lost me in the back and forth, product name changes, platform changes, subscription level changes and so it goes on. So will now try to stop feeling giddy and try and understand what was added, lost, and then changed, and what exactly I have and why I have it.
While I think I understand what your trying to accomplish in making the product more accessible and keep relevant to the trends, and maintain compatibility across multiple platforms - I have a question. Is the plan for Logos to end up being monetised like Adobe CS and accessible under licence only by monthly/annual subscription? The Faithlife platform you have now established gives hints towards that direction.

What lost me was the answer to the question: Does LN really helps FL make a profit to survive or not? From what I read, it didn't, but then it was like, "well, it does." So I'm still confused. Hopefully they can make their buck to stay in business.
I'll be on the look out for the email offer Bob said FL was going to sent to previous customers. If I don't get it, I'll still check out the benefits and sign up before the release of L8 later this year or whenever it happens.
Great to have LN back without the additional library that some of us didn't need.
DAL

DAL,
What I understood about that question is that LN would have been profitable, but only something like 4% of users adopted LN, which was not enough to be profitable, or something like that. I can't remember which post I saw it on. The combination of the cloud services with LN-type benefits is their answer to LN not turning a profit.
I, like (probably) every LN user of "old", am extremely happy for the Faithlife Connect version of LN to be around, as it has everything I want to use.

I'm not certain that the Connect pricing chart will be updated with this content because it's not available to non-Logos Now subscribers and it would be confusing to them. I would like a "Connect pricing chart"-like page which defines what our benefits are and how to engage with them.PetahChristian said:Martin Folley said:I still cannot work out the advantage that retaining the re-badged LN option has over moving to the starter plus a $200 voucher.
Re-badged LN = Connect Essentials (No Library), which has the following advantages over Connect Starter:
- It provides access to the full feature set (instead of the starter feature set).
- It provides access to early release features.
- It provides access to LN's subscription-only features such as lemma-in-passage, and morph query builder.
- It provides access to a free course every six months (instead of once per year).
- It provides two free books a month (one Lexham/Kirkdale Press title, and one classic title).
If you don't care about the free books every month, one extra course per year, or all the extra features in LN that aren't in the starter feature set, then Connect Starter is not only cheaper than rebranded LN, but you also get $200.
If you do want any of the Connect Essentials benefits, the rebranded LN is priced $100 less per year for the same benefits (less the book rentals). It would be cheaper to go with the grandfathered LN price over the long run, rather than keeping the $200 voucher (and using it to help upgrade from Starter to Essentials).
Everything should be more clear once the Connect pricing chart is updated with the new Essentials (No Library) tier details.
That said, I have set my subscription back to auto-renew. I am glad that I'll still have access to the same content on all of my devices and I hope that this has resolved all of those issues.
That said, regarding the free courses, since I never took part in them before, is there only a set of courses that we can choose from or does it include all of them?0 -

It's any of them with the exception of bundles. I went for a course on First Corinthians which normally retails for over 400 dollars

Actually the new No Library tier will be available to anyone, but at a higher $14.95 price than what LN members are paying.
You can claim your benefits by visiting http://connect.faithlife.com/get-started and scrolling down to Claim benefits.

Any individual course (e.g., not part of a course bundle). There are about 180 courses to choose from.
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

Please forgive my ignorance here, but when I click that link and go to the page, I don't see the package listed for us. What should I choose?PetahChristian said:You can claim your benefits by visiting http://connect.faithlife.com/get-started and scrolling down to Claim benefits.
Just the regular "Essentials", or "Starter"? I assume "Essentials".0 -
Choose Essentials. We get the same benefits as that tier.

I am still very, very confused. I am a long-time Logos member with a HUGE amount of money paid out for books and commentaries and it looks like these books will basically disappear with my "new" automatically rolled over subscription! Is this correct?
I don't need any online streaming content. I just want access to my books. Nor do I want to pay about $100/year to access books I have already bought. How can I do this?
I am a missionary to Japan for 40 years and so it is not easy to "call you". Can we talk via email?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, however the only books that would "disappear" are the trial books/resources that are free to access for that month. The books that you have paid for you own and will not disappear.
The subscription is for feature sets and access to other things, such as free books each month (ones that you will own), access to different resources to try out (as mentioned above), as well as access to Mobile Ed courses, etc. You are not required to subscribe to anything. This is a mere business shift in that they are reaching out to the crowd that would rather subscribe and not necessarily own.

Hi Dale. I assume you have a previous package(s) you bought/upgraded to in the past you are using. Nothing changes with this. If you do nothing it will continue to work with all the books as it always has. You can upgrade the free engine when a new free version comes out and continue using Logos just like it is now at no additional cost (but no new features, either)
The question is when Logos 8 comes out, do you want to have some or all of the new features? If not, then see the paragraph above. If you do want new features, then you need to decide how you want to get them. You can either purchase a Feature Upgrade or a package (and keep using all the existing books you've purchased) or get a subscription to Logos Connect (and also continue using all the existing books you've purchased).Either way, no matter what you choose, your existing books are always accessible to you. The paid upgrades are always about obtaining new program features and potentially new books, never existing features or books.
Hope this helps

Thank you Bob,
This is very much appreciated. So just to make sure I understand, does the subscription still include all upgrades such as Logos 8? Could you clarify what is meant by "No Library"?
Warm regards

No library means you’re not subscribing to the cloud books that are in the connect packages but you’re paying for features and membership perks

Exactly. You only have access to your own library that you've purchased, plus the core features included in what was Logos Now.Keith Pang said:No library means you’re not subscribing to the cloud books that are in the connect packages but you’re paying for features and membership perks

I'm not right clued into this stuff so help me out again if you will. I've purchased Logos 7 Full Feature Set. If I buy Logos 8 Full Feature set, what am I gaining by staying into Faithlife Connect Essentials? If this question is to dumb to give a reply, I'll begin to catch on! :-)

If you purchase the full feature set, the remaining gains would be the free books and access to the mobile ed courses.
This is the list of things for the FLC Essentials

Thanks for the reply. Can you or someone else explain the 144 Volume Research Library? Is this simply an extra set of books in addition to what I already have (and of course you don't know what I have) but neither do & how would one know, e.g. maybe some of the books in this Research Library are ones I already have?
Also, what is the difference between the Full Bible Toolset in comparison or contrast to what one gets in the Logos 7 or Logos 8 Full Feature Set?

If you subscribe to FaithLife Connect Essentials, you'll get the licenses to those books and they are yours to use as long as you are a subscriber. But, it's temporary. Once you stop the subscription, you lose those books that are a part of your subscription. Any books you bought and paid for you keep.

Please remember that if you are a Logos Now subscriber who has been grandfathered into Faithlife Connect Essentials, you do not get the 144 temporary resources, which is why the plan for current Logos Now subscribers is called Faithlife Connect Essentials (No Library).

Since you now have the full feature set, what you would gain is access to any new features/tools that are developed between now and when Logos 8 is released (not later this week, I hope [:P]), provided you are still subscribed at the time they are released.

You don't gain anything feature set wise if you already own it. You might get access to some new features between now and the release of Logos 8.
