Parallel Pericope Bible
As suggested by this thread.
I'm not real happy with how the columns turned out, but I decided to go ahead and share it, in case it might be useful to someone.
I am also posting the Excel file with four sheets used to progressively tag and format, in case someone might want to use it with some other project.
Compile as type "Bible Harmony."
If anyone wants a rundown on what I did, let me know and I'll reply with that later in the week. Otherwise, I won't bore.

I've been playing with it a bit and think you may have discovered a bug ... it is not dividing evenly into columns

I might have contributed to the issue by removing headings from the one big table, and thereby creating 3000+ tables. The compiler wouldn't (for me, anyway) recognize TOC headings inside a table.macOS (Logos Pro - Beta) | Android 13 (Logos Stable)

I don't think this was a real hot item, but it seems the Dropbox links have gone by the boards. So here they are again.

I revisited this in order to simplify it. The original docx was split into three bazillion little tables in order to preserve TOC functionality, since Heading styles inside tables aren't interpreted by the PB compiler as TOC entries.
Since pericope headings can now be specified in the reference box, I have dispensed with the TOC functionality and made one huge table. I think this makes things behave better, even though the right-most passage in any given pericope still expands past the right-side boundary of the column. Another good consequence of this is the compiler uses the cell borders of the table, which makes it much more readable. (When I tried borders on the original docx it apparently had too many tables for the compiler to deal with borders.)
One odd thing that I have not noticed before: a note referenced to a bible passage is marked on a passage reference that does not have a milestone (the note does relate to the passage, though). I noticed a number of the parallel passages with note marks, even though I did not put milestones on the parallel citations. I probably haven't very observant.

Thank you Rob! I don't know if anyone else had this issue but my computer had a really tough time digesting this file until I turned off all visual and media filters. Once those were gone I was able to use the file. Too much going on for my little computer i guess

Matillo:
I had the same issue. I have a refurb WIn7 computer (i5, 16GB, SSD for OS & Logos) and it is usually fairly responsive on stuff where some have issues. I also cleared the visual filters and it is now acceptable, but not speedy.
Consider this: the original file is still posted and it seems to be much snappier. Maybe the zillion little tables compile into a better-performing PB than the one huge one. So, if you want the functionality, but don't mind the relative ugliness of the old, go with it. At some point I'll experiment with 66 tables for my own use (I think I can live without the Apocrypha). If that works out, I'll post it here, in case someone else wants it.

Hey Matillo:
I redid the docx with more, smaller tables instead of the one large. It's not 66, but larger books have their own table and smaller ones are grouped. The 4-18 Dropbox link above has the new version and a version without the Apocrypha (making it a little skinnier). Hope that helps.

Thank you Rob! I'll try that out later tonight

Hmmm... I'm having some problems with this file. I had incorrect results in the Parallel Passages section of the Passage Guide. So I downloaded and extracted the files again ... and compiled the long version as a Bible Harmony. I am still getting very odd results. Have you gotten it to work in the Passage Guide's Parallel Passages Section?

I haven't paid any attention to this resource in the Passage Guide. Now that you point it out, I tried a couple of other passages (Mt 5; Matthew 14:13–21) and they produce nonsensical parallels, too. My (apparently) short-sighted idea to compile as a Bible Harmony was mainly to gain the dynamic version capability, rather than it be hard-coded to the preferred bible, as it would be if compiled as Bible.
Possibilities:
- Since I had not compiled any other PBs as Bible Harmony, it didn't occur to me that Harmonies might depend on special formatting or additional tagging to function as such with guides or tools.
- In the distant past, I remember a large PB that clearly had a scrambled index (Headword in that case), but now I don't remember the specific PB. It's possible that this one is similarly scrambled.
My guess is it's #1. The Alternatives are to recompile as Bible and settle for Preferred Bible, or ignore the resource in guides.

I think I'll try a third option - play with it until I either have it working or understand why it doesn't. Either way, it is very usable now in most settings.

There's another one Bartleby where you'll find many classics and useful literature, quotations, verses, etc.

I had no trouble downloading last night. I checked again right before I posted this and it is working for me.

Thought you ought to know you got referenced in another thread for this ... it is still appreciated.
