When I was attempting to work with Carta, they were very interested in Faithlife distributing/reselling their "Biblewhere" subscription product instead of licensing their individual titles like they had done for years with other Bible Software companies. This was a new business model they were pursuing and understandably, they didn't want anything disrupting it. I suspect they are still focusing 100% on Biblewhere and that remains the sole reason they are not doing any new licensing of their existing titles. I've been out of the game now for over a year, so this is purely speculation. I would be delighted to see Faithlife and Carta come to a deal.
Well Carta have just licensed the 22 volumes of the Understanding the Bible Series to another Bible Software company that was able to offer it for sub $100 as the initial offer price. It is now $322.25 as the regular price.
So that does not fit in with them having a 100% focus on Biblewhere, though it does offer insight at least into what was FL's stumbling block so that is appreciated Bill. I wonder though if FL has gone back to them recently given what licensing this other Bible Software company was able to negotiate with them.

Well, not a single sock hanging from the chimney had Logos' announcement that at last, Carta had arrived. Grinches, grinches, foiled again!
But for those who dream, the copy below is a zoom-in of a Carta photo, that speaks to a major warning from various pastors worldwide each and every Sunday. If you had Carta, you'd 'know'!
Actually, it was today's reading (looking) at lunch. Carta's like the old Look magazine. Very 'thumb-able'.

I emailed Carta Jerusalem on December 31st, asking if they'd make their books available in Logos, but haven't heard anything back...
Hoping Carta and FL can negotiate a beneficial agreement for their books!
Thanks to FL for including Carta and a Hebrew audio bible in Logos 9!

I found there are several Carta maps inside The Rose Then and Now Bible Map Atlas by Paul H. Wright. It's an excellent book!

Yes, I have this resource too. But I still really hope that we can get all the Carta resources in Logos in the future.

I echo that thought. May this strand remain active until Carta comes!

Hopefully, it won’t be another decade or this might be the oldest active thread in the forums.

Apparently there’s some licensing agreement in place that let two Carta Jerusalem resources appear in pre-pub!
Thanks to Faithlife and Carta Jerusalem for this wonderful progress, and thanks to DAL for bringing it to our attention!

Has anyone let Bill know that some sort of deal has been worked out? (Thanks, Bill, for your efforts!)

I'm so excited too. I've advocated for this for years. Praise the Lord!!!

Me too! There were a couple of times throughout the years that I almost gave in and bought from a competitor, but at the last minute I decided to not do that but "hang on a little bit longer." Now I am glad that I did!

There are 9 now. Does anyone have any idea how many there will be in the end?

I don’t know how many they were able to license, but the “Understanding the Bible:....” series I have has 22 volumes and I don’t see any right now in the Logos prepub page. I’ve got 40 in my other Bible software and I don’t own them all. It’d be nice if Logos invented or bought from the competition the right to use their graphics viewer and to put together an “All Carta Collection.” The thing that holds me back from ordering all in Logos is their low grade graphics. I hope they don’t screw up these awesome resources by not giving them the ability to look great in the software or when they’re exported to PowerPoint.

No idea, but flipping through Carta’s print catalog, I counted 99 books (assuming none appeared more than once in the catalog).
I hope FL can start to bundle them, that we might save over buying them individually.

In this first release (I hope there will be more in the future!), we'll have 13 individual titles and one bundle including all 13.

I don't have access to the pricing in front of me at the moment, but I highly suspect that it will be. We try to use bundle discounting as often as we can, and I assume that'll be true here.

Is there a link yet to the bundle? If we want the bundle, should we be deleting the 7 individual pre-purchases we have made?

Not yet. Coming in the next couple of days, I think.

You can, but you don't have to. We'll ship the collection first, and then none of the individual pre-orders will process if you already own them.

No complaints, thrilled with the release... merely curious how those 13 were selected, if it doesn’t violate any confidentiality. Was it a joint selection made by both companies?
Very grateful that something could be worked out, and we’re all hoping for more... keep them coming!
(l’ve never been more excited for a pre-order to ship, than for this one... the anticipation!)

We decided to start with the titles they're already distributing in the Bible software market and then explore other titles in the future after we see how these do.

So when will the big announcement be made? This is huge for Logos/FL since it took over a decade to finally get licenses for these resources. Home page exposure, blog article, e-mail propaganda, etc. Don’t wait to see how these do first. If you promote them correctly, these could sell like hot bread 🥖 🍞

What a smart strategy.
Thanks again for making this finally happen. I think this is a win for both Faithlife and Carta Jerusalem. I can only imagine all the negotiations over the years.
