Search: Revert to opening additional search tabs

Previous behavior of tapping the search icon was to open a new search tab. Now, tapping the icon reuses any existing search tabs, and clears its previous results.
I would like to have several search tabs open, each with their own set of results, and close them manually as needed.

    I agree with Peter — let the user decide how many search tabs (and other tabs) should be open.

    Yes, please, allow several search panels to be open at one time.

    Or, if reverting the change is rejected, how about an implementing a long-press on the search icon to open a new search tab? It’s less discoverable, but would be better than the workaround of going to the layouts view, pressing + then the 9-dot icon then tapping Search, every time.

    @Peter Martin  good idea, or to be easier to discover invert it
    So longpress would use same search
