Logos 5.2a (5.2.1.0067) available for download

Logos 5.2a (5.2.1.0067) is available for download.
If you have automatic updates turned on, 5.2a will be downloaded automatically the next time your system checks for updates. To install it right away, enter the Update Now command. If you encounter problems with the auto update, download X using the appropriate link:
New features implemented in 5.2a:
Bible Sense Lexicon
Added Adjectives and Adverbs to the Relationships and See Also sections.
My Library
Added “Last Accessed” and “Most Used” columns to the Library Details view. They show the last date a resource was opened and order your resources by most frequently used, respectively.
Added the ability to sort by multiple columns, such as My Tags and Community Tags. Click the first header, then Shift+Click to include more groupings.
Changed the side-by-side Library view icons to use a drop down menu instead. (See this thread and this thread.)
Implemented the new Cover View, which focuses on looking through the Library by book cover. It is similar to Vyrso’s cover view and this suggestion.
In Details view, added right-click menu options for groupings (Collapse/Expand for single item, level, and all).
Tags are now hyperlinked, and will filter the Library for resources with that tag when clicked. Clicking a tag in the Resource Panel Info pane will open the Library with that filter.
The Prioritize button is now implemented as a toggle, which will display/hide the Prioritization panel when clicked. (See this thread.)
When adding tags to resources, common tags will now be suggested as you type. Existing user tags will be in bold.
Resource Panel
Implemented verse boundaries to smart selection-enabled Bibles. (See this thread.)
Sermon Starter Guide
Added Sermon collection section “Sermons” to the Sermon Starter Guide.
The Sermon Starter Guide can now be added to a link set, and will follow any preaching themes or Bible references in linked panels.
Settings
Added a new setting in the General section “Show Information Tool Tips”. Changing the setting to ‘No’ will disable all word-information tooltips.
Startup
If the program crashes due to a corrupt database file, it will be automatically replaced when restarting Logos. This should automate a common troubleshooting step.
Topic Guide
The “Definition” section of Topic Guides has been renamed “Topic” and lists more LCV resources that were previously excluded for not defining the topic.
The Topic Guide can be added to a link set, and will follow along with any concept references in linked panels.

It's disappointing that only one bug (a crash) was fixed for this version because many bugs were raised on RC1 and RC2 that will affect users of Mac 10.6/10.7 and Windows Vista after April 8.

Doing "update now" multiple times, restarted a few times, still on 5.2 SR-6
Guess the distributed servers are not yet synced for my part of the world?

Strange, one computer updates automatically on start-up. The other refuses to update even if "update now" is run repeatedly. Both are not manually configured with proxies and are sitting behind a NAT so they should be identical WAN-side. For all intents and purposes, both computers are identical. Both have never had beta versions. Both are/were on 5.2 SR-6.
What's even more intriguing. Temp folders are cleared. Disk scanned. Collected April's free book with "update now". Reindexed properly.
And STILL "update now" does not pull the update to 5.2a.
This is one for the devs' locker room. [:O]

I'm getting an error I've never encountered before:
"Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Installer\Folders. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
I've gone into Regedit and made sure that I do have administrator rights to the registry folder. Tried everything possible. Installation still fails.
Never encountered this before. This is a first.

Same here, except neither computer (one windows 7 and one windows 8.1) will update to 5.2a. I am leery to update from the link provided in light of this anomaly.

Yes.
I think there may be a problem with the version stamp, since both computer's popups state "No updates available" "No updates found"

Honestly, if it was a software bug, then it would be with your current version, which would mean you would want to update. With that said, my Surface tablet automatically downloaded while my desktop would not. I just used the link.

I just ran the update script posted, and the software installed but the version is still
Logos Bible Software 5.2 SR-6 (5.2.0.0136), the same as before with the same results. No update to
Logos 5.2a (5.2.1.0067)
Tried again with the installation from the web site. This time it worked.
There is a problem with the link in the post, or with the file at amazon.

Now, after I finally got the program updated, it updated the Databases. Pretty squirrelly!!

Love the improvements to the Library window!
As well as the wider Find box (yes!), the new columns (Last Accessed and Most Used), and the Title view, I think it has finally solved the problem of partial columns being displayed blank in Details view--a long-lasting issue in Logos 4 and 5. (It seems to be overcoming it by doing some kind of forced refresh as a second step.)
Also, if I click on the LastUpdated column heading, it sorts that way without needing me to drag the vertical scrollbar to the top. And it remembers the last sort when I re-open the Library window. Between that and not having to drag column widths to see Author etc, this is a serious time-saver. [:)]
Thanks

My problem was resolved after playing around with the registry. Not sure what happened there. Probably Windows 8 related.

Still "no update found" on my end.

I'm LOVING this update, you guys should get something on the blog about it. It is SO much better being able to browse the library in book cover view, wanted this for a while so... thank you... wish granted

We are aware of the situation and are working on a solution. For the record I was pretty disappointed that my personal copy of Logos didn't update when I got home yesterday... [:(]
We'll post an update when we have more information.

Thanks Logos for the latest update. I like the improvements of the Library. Though not mentioned in the update, I also like the ability to re-name a tag and apply the change to every resource that has the tag.

Mine installed after I reverse-clicked the settings automatic update (which had started out as automatic).

Depending on when your machine checked for updates, the automatic update may not have worked. This problem should now be fixed.
Sorry for the hassle!

Exactly how much of a situation are you aware of? I had serious problems getting it to install once it had downloaded.
I was specifically referring to the download issues that many users were having. What were the install issues you were seeing? (Or perhaps there's another thread I've not yet seen)

No, I hadn't gotten around to writing about it yet, since after all it installed in the end, which solved the problem for me.
After I managed to get the download, I clicked to install. Logos closed, but never opened again. I opened it manually, and found that I still had the RC. All in all, I think I clicked twice on the install message in Logos, twice on the one in the menu bar, and at least twice on the one in a popup, and except for the last time, it either closed without opening, opened to the old version, or did nothing in particular.
And when I finally got it to install, I managed to type two letters in the Library find box before it hang, forcing me to force quit.
Seems to work now, though. (Apart from all the bugs I reported in the RC, and provided everything goes well with the download I just see is waiting for me.)

Sad that the Tag recognition stuff is not working when multiple volumes are selected.....

When it asks if I want to install the new update, I click "yes" - and part way through the process, says:
Warning 1909: Could not create Shortcut Logos Bible Software 5.lnk. Verify the destination folder exists and that you can access it.
Then I get the error 2902.
Any thoughts? If I skip it, Logos5 opens fine and performs fine otherwise.

OK - just got worse. Tried the update from the link above, and now it won't install or let me open L5. Stuck and NEED help.

The changes are great, but how does Most Used figure out what I use most? The majority of my resources say I have used them 48 times. Sorting by this isn't helping me. It's pulling up my books from the Perseus Classics Collection and from the Biblical Dead Sea Scrolls database first. All of them say I have used them 48 times (even though many of the works here I have not opened yet).
UPDATE: oops. I see. 1 is most used and 48 is least used. Now it makes sense.

Hi Reid
Does the discussion at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/58976.aspx help?

I suggest you restart the computer for this as the Warning 1909 doesn't prevent Logos from being updated (it can be fixed by unpinning / re-pinning Logos to the taskbar).
The Error 2902 is related - see this thread for a more technical discussion/fix if restarting the computer doesn't work.

Are you a "real Verbum" user or a Logos user with "Set Verbum to Yes"? If the latter, you may try this: download the L5 normal installer package (that's what I did throughout the beta) or - probably more convenient - Set Verbum to No, Update Now, let classic L5 update and then Set Verbum to Yes.
Have joy in the Lord!

Sorry for the delay on this. We ran into some issues initially getting 5.2a available for everyone to download, and made the decision to time shipping 5.2a for Verbum users to correspond with 5.2a SR-1, which has just been shipped for both apps.
TL;DR: Verbum 5.2a SR 1 (0081) is now available. Sorry for the wait.
