FEEDBACK WANTED: New Resource Toolbar on Desktop

I reran the query using the Search logo in the far upper-left of the screen, four icons to the right of the blue Logos logo, and set the query to Book search. In the Synopsis window I got a return, which says it was generated by AI, which only listed Calvin's Institutes as a source.
It's only listing Calvin's Institutes as the source because you seem to be searching only in that book - see upper left corner, above the question.

I see it now, thanks so much for your help and expertise. I changed the search scope to all my books and got a return similar to yours. Thanks again.

I am very happy to see the new toolbar and features. Logos feels more familiar. Thank you

It took me only a few minutes to work out how to find my way around the toolbar. Far better than previous toolbar on the Mac.

I would like an option to hide the secondary toolbar by default whenever a recourse opens.

One of my main layouts that I have used for years had 5 columns of Bibles. My screen is 15.6 in, so when Logos updated and added the new resource toolbar configuration, both the Hide secondary toolbar and hamburger buttons were able to be seen because they were longer than the column with. (This may be a reason that some people in the above comments could not find the 'Hide secondary toolbar' button.) By reducing program scaling to 80% I was then able to see the Hide secondary toolbar and hamburger buttons on 4 of the columns, but it was not enough to let me see the all the buttons on my 5th column which had to be slightly narrower. This is not a problem for the resource tabs, as when there are too many to show, a Scroll arrow pops up. And it is not a problem for the secondary toolbar, because the buttons are consolidated under, a more toolbar controls button. QUESTION: Is there a plan to add a scroll arrow to the primary Resource Toolbar if the column is too narrow to show all of its buttons?

This change is so awful for interlinear. Instead of 1 click it's not 3. Please change how this works for interlinear or at least give us a command like ctrl + i. You just made this so much more time consuming.

Can't highlight the passage reference anymore as taught in the Logos 10 QuickStart course. Press tab to change the bible reference. Now tab cycles through all UI elements - very disappointing.
Also can't find where to change font size or change parallels.
This is highly disappointing and support have told me I can't get my subscription refunded and cancelled because it's a subscription - despite having no idea subscribing would so heavily alter the UI. Could even say it broke the UI.

It seems that the new resource tool bar has taken away the feature that allows me to advance to the next page by taping the space bar.
As before, it requires that you put the keyboard focus in the content area. You can do this by clicking in the text of the book.
Ctrl + Space doesn't work to cycle back though.
Also Tab now cycles through all elements of the screen. I was trained to press tab to change the verse, how do you do this now? Would rather it be tab. I don't see any reason to want to cycle through every element on the screen - unless you had specific accessibility issues which should be a togglable feature.

Press tab to change the bible reference
Try Ctrl-G
Also can't find where to change font size or change parallels.

Ctrl+G has always been the documented keyboard shortcut to set focus to the Active Reference textbox: https://ref.ly/logosres/logos4help?hw=Windows+Keyboard+Shortcuts
It still works with the new resource toolbar.

The shortcut is Ctrl+alt+r (r for reverse interlinear). It is in the help file but I think they said they're finally adding a tooltip.

Unfortunately, here, ctrl+alt+r does nothing in a Bible pane. In both, I can access the interlinear via the menu. (Windows 11, in NASB20 and NKJV)

Ctrl - Shift - R instead. However, it opens the bottom pane thing. In the seminar the other day, this was noted, and I believe they are introducing a key stroke sequence for the actual Interlinear.

or change parallels.
In the parallels icon - the book image just before the navigation box.
o change font size
instead of a slider, it is a % zoom in/out in the view tab - right side.
Could even say it broke the UI.
It shouldn't take long to learn to new UI - the nice thing is everyone is learning the new UI so there is lots of help in the forums.

I upgraded after the launch earlier this week. I've tried to get used to the new toolbar and I just don't like it. I'm hoping Logos does some improvement to it. I find the new one to be less intuitive than the old one, but maybe that will change with time.

Yes, and you can't use it to shut off the inline Interlinear. You have to thread your way through three levels, collect all the gems, and avoid the Mouse-Click Monster.

book dropdown . default behavior
When I click on the "change book" dropdown (next to the book cover on the menu row) and change to a new book (a Bible in this case) the new Bible comes with default settings I already changed in the previous Bible - Factbook tags, show notes-highlights, etc. I have to change everything all over again. (At least it is building muscle memory for using the menu.)I would like any new book brought in thru the "change book" dropdown to assume the same settings from the book I am leaving.

Actually, that same sequence turns off what it turns on, at least for me. I double-checked before I mentioned it earlier.
However, it currently only does a bottom pane. I understood them to say that Version 38 would include a combination for the actual interlinear within the text.Until then, yes, that is multiple clicks of the menu system per my comment from way back in this thread as something I wish they would get back to the one click. It's what I want as well.
However, these key code sequences can help (a little) until then.

but I'm used to using the // symbol on the resource tool bar
The funny thing about that is I'm the guy who originally suggested the // icon (because it's the geometry symbol for parallel lines, of course!) and it's been one of the icons that has be reported time and time again as being mysterious and counterintuitive to new folks. (Along with the "three circles stacked like cannon balls" for visual filters.) Once you learn it, it becomes one more hieroglyph that's stuck in your brain, but until then it's a total mystery.
Anyway, we're definitely seeing a pattern with people not discovering the book cover or not associating it with switching out the resource. That, and the number of clicks to toggle interlinear. Other interesting feedback on this thread to be sure, but those seem like the top two pain points so far.
I believe the dynamic toolbar’s book cover is frequently not being associated with switching of resources because book cover images in Logos are normally used to identify a resource and with the exception of the new category labels, symbol icons are primarily used to control program actions. If the book cover image is replaced with a symbol icon, perhaps many more people would at least recognize it as being related to a program action which would lead them to click on it and discover its purpose.
Although, while initially learning this new version it is frustrating that the book cover’s association with switching resources is not apparent, the main reason I don’t like it and would like to see it changed to a symbol icon is as follows: The resource panel’s main tab already automatically displays the currently opened bible or book. A second appearance of the same bible or book cover in the toolbar seems redundant. In my opinion, it adds unnecessary clutter and looks odd. In addition, if it is one of the bright high contrast book cover images (such as used for some bibles), it can distract from reading the text directly below it.
For these reasons, instead of a book cover image, please consider using a simple, non-distracting symbol icon consistent with the other grey icons in the secondary toolbar, (and please no high contrast ultra bright colors).
In addition, this symbol icon’s function would be even more apparent if it were to remain in its present location (to the left side of the bible or book reference) but separated outside of the shaded reference box.

Not disagreeing but I'd like to point out there is another group of users that we aren't hearing from - those whose 1st instinct after seeing the new toolbar was to punch every title, icon, button that wasn't obvious to get "the lay of the land." These people had no trouble finding parallel resources and have, in fact, already started calling it something else in the forums e.g. change books.

While this is true and I am one of those guys who clicked everything and looked through all the options, I will say it’s not about finding the tools and features, it’s about the quick access and availability of those that are used frequently.

That glaring blue "NEW" button has got to go. It is jarring and unsettling. Not how I want to enjoy Logos first thing in the morning.

Yeah that's what I did. I find the new toolbar wonderful and very clear, and it took very little time to figure out how to do what. With the older layout I particularly struggled with finding parallel resources in narrow panel. I love this change.

I agree with Sean. They could do a few things to reduce the clicks required for parallel and interlinear off and on.

Maybe "new" button should be replaced with a button labeled "Toolbar Help". That could take the user to a resource below or maybe an enhanced Help-Tip page for the toolbar - including a link to participate in this forum thread - which is what the "new" button does.
I have learned a lot in this thread but it is a massive thread. The links below are more organized and such a page could grow with more information, also in an organized way.
