There a few occasions where my order has sat stuck on live for three or more days and I have had to e-mail customer services to get them to push the order through... hopefully that won't occur this time.

I was pretty sure all the pre-orders were on individual punch cards and they had to feed them through a "computer". That was only after the electron shipment arrives from Walla Walla.
*edit* leaking this info may have just meant my card got moved to the bottom of the stack... [:'(]

Still waiting for my email too. Can anyone who has it verify whether it can be used on the iPhone/iPad? I sure hope so after the Bible Knowledge Commentary was taken down...

I got my email a while ago, but had to issue the "Update Now" command to actually start the download. Once started, it came pretty fast.

On the upper right side of the tab you should see a circle with a small letter "i." Click on that.

Yeap Logos 3 displays much more info.. the official word from Logos was along the lines of Logos 4 just works and we don't need to know all that info......

How do you go to a specific page?
I had the ESV Bible already. So I bought just the ESV notes. I downloaded and it was indexed.
As it appears on my screen, the ESV Bible is in one panel, and the ESV notes are below it (I had to manually open it...not sure if it can be linked).
I don't see a way to move to any specific page number though.*edit*
Don't know if this is the most efficient way, but I just turned on the page numbers, then scrolled and page up/down until I found the page you are referring to. Surely there's a better way.
Anyway, I see the image you are referring to. I agree that it is horrible "as-is". I downloaded/saved it as a separate file then opened it in an image view at normal size. At normal size it is readable. But in the program itself, w/o being able to zoom in, it's utterly useless.
Is there any way to zoom in pictures? Or are we stuck having to use a program other than Logos 4 to use some of the data in Logos 4 (which IMO...is very poor development).0 -

I've been playing around with this by way of watching some of the Logos 4 Video Tutorials from the Wiki.
If you click in your ESV's top left corner you can assign it a letter. Then do the same with your ESV notes and when you scroll the Bible the notes should keep up with you.

Procedure would be same with ESV SB just make sure you set them both to same link set
This is a mocked up screen shot I created a few days ago, and includes a second study bible but the result you should get will be similar to. Notice how each resource has the link set 'A' showing up on its cover icon. This means they will scroll together via the current bible reference.

I've not gone through all of the videos yet so I'm behind a little it seems.
Now...is there a video that shows how to fix minuscule images in the books (see my above post).

It appears that the images scale to the window. That is, if you need the image to be larger, you have to decrease the width of other columns so that the column in question is wide enough to fit the image. It'd be nice if there was a zoom feature, but I guess this will do until such a feature is implemented.

The above snippet was taken in Reading View (F11) at 1920x1200. You can see a small bit of normal sized text at the top with the image at the bottom; and you can see how it is far from readable.
Hopefully, this can be addressed by Logos post-release.

Glad to see this fine resource in Logos at long last. While we might quibble over image resolution as we have with other resources, there is a lot more here than images. I have never seen a more complete study Bible than the ESV. I doubt there is one. I appreciate the work that went into getting this into Logos format.

I whole heartedly agree. It is a wonderful resource, both the dead tree version and this version. I've waited a long time for this to be available on Logos and am very excited now that I get to use it with all my other resources. So any quibbles from me over the images are just that.

I just got my ESVSB downloaded. When I got home from work, a storm had knocked out my cable/internet connection.
I went to bed early and then got up and found that the internet was back.
Downloaded the 245 MB and did a quick browse.
This is a great addition to my Logos resources!
Next. I want the ESV Bible Atlas.

Well, the ESV people didn't provide any better version of this chart on their own on-line ESV Study Bible site. I expect Logos depends on what the ESV people make available which, in this case, had rather tiny print. And, BTW, the actual print version of this chart also has similar tiny print, about the same as if you viewed the chart in Logos in a full-size single pane (though a little easier to read than on a monitor). Short of scanning the paper version at high resolution (which might not have been permissable), I can't imagine what the solution would be.

Yup, I'm guessing that's the limitation Logos is working with. The best I could manage was to copy this graphic and paste into Photoshop and run a Smart Sharpen filter on it to make the text a bit more readable (click to enlarge), but still no links or popups for Scripture references:

Thank you, Logos, for bringing us the ESV Study Bible! It is an outstanding resource--as far as I am concerned, it is the best Study Bible on the market. Hat's off to Logos!

This chart could be engineered in such a way as to be more user friendly. I don't blame Logos on this, nor do I necessarily blame Crossway. It's just a thing that happens when you execute something one way, and then try to use it in a different way. But my point is, with a little money and time, if they would put their heads together, they could transform these into a bang-up interactive, usable chart.
I like Apples. Especially Honeycrisp.

Just think of how big the download would be, though, if all such charts were higher resolution and interactive. As it is, the Study Bible Notes are 257MB!

FWIW, this same limitation also exists in the Accordance version of this resource, so this may be the best we will get, at least for awhile.
However, when I copy the Logos chart and paste it into my drawing program it shows up as 10.417 in x 6.958 in. When I do the same for the equivalent chart from WORDsearch it shows up as 16.667 x 11.854 -- and is much clearer. So they must have been able to do something differently.

Yes, from a not-very-exhaustive study (I tried one item, ziggurat) I've determined they are integrated with Logos PPT (and thus you can export them to Microsoft PPT [;)]) --

Maybe it has been discussed already but the resolution of maps and pictures is not great (about 1200X800) which is just PowerPoint resolution. But the thing is the On-Line version of the ESV SB has about the same resolution. So it is up to the Crossway to make the pictures available in a bigger resolution.

Yes, maps are integrated, too. And you can zoom in. But if you click "Actual Size" it doesn't get a whole lot bigger than the default size. If you zoom in more from there, you're getting grainier and grainier picture. We only have so many pixels. Still, it's possible to see quite well. Here's Jericho zoomed way in:
Too bad that chart on p. 1790 that someone was complaining about how tiny its writing is doesn't appear to be in Biblical People. It's about the Herodian Dynasty. I searched on various Herods but only found this:

It was on pre-pub until a couple days before launch. Don't want to bore with details. But I still plan to get it. Can't say I am super excited about the graphics, though. I guess I need to temper my idealistic expectations with reality.

No, no, I got it, I have been looking forward to have it for long. (Actually I got for me, for our daughter and our son, so I paid ESV SB Notes 3 times [:(]. I also have a paper version.)
Yesterday I was in Prague all day long so I downloaded the ESV Study Bible Notes only a few hours ago. As it was indexing I tried to find maps and illustrations in Biblical Places/Things and haven't found anything, so I was happy to see your post. Now I have it up and running. Great resource. I will use it in my daily reading. [Y]

Hello Tes, no, ESV SB is just a shorter name for the ESV Study Bible. Since I use in this layout very narrow column for ESV SB notes (and NET Notes) it shows only that shorter name. Otherwise it shows full name. That is how Logos 4 does it with all the resources.

Just wanted to jump into this discussion with a question:
My card was charged Wednesday, I was notified by email that L4 would download ESV SBN; nevertheless, it's Friday and every time I enter "Update Now," I receive that message that no updates are available.
Is anyone else having this problem?
