Can you comment on the Judaica part? Judaica clearly isn't "outside biblical studies". Are you planning to use Noet as a more 'neutral' platform for Jewish users? Are you planning to finally fill the huge holes in the Jewish offerings? Will there be a Jewish Product Manager?

I hope so! And I hope it would spill over from Noet onto Logos offerings. Would want there to be an advocate for the works of Jewish authors like Abraham Joshua Heschel, Martin Buber, ibn Ezra, Rashi, etc.

Can you comment on the Judaica part?

We have some Jewish users, but some don't wish to use a product with a cross in the logo, Christian branding, etc. Moving Judaica under the Noet brand will allow us to sell the Judaica that our Christian audience wants to a Jewish audience too, with less friction / explanation / etc. I believe the result will be an ability to publish more material that Logos users want at lower cost to all users.

Text Comparison. How far do you plan to take it?

Far enough to compare Shakespeare, and other materials, and probably some (can't promise all) of what you want.

As a large number of people I am sure took advantage of the 'free' persueus collections and have the aristotle and plato etc books, are those who have access to those works eligible for the timeline etc that also comes with those collections?

Also, if we 'order' collections do we get discounts off the products we already own?

The Plato and Aristotle in Noet are different editions than the ones in Perseus.

Seems you need to do the same for the 'new' bundles. The smaller Greek bundle should be 'included in' the larger Greek bundle and so on.

Also, given that these bundles are meant for Classicists, you need to make it very explicit what they can and cannot expect from the tagging, especially the differences between Perseus and 'normal' resources.

After looking over the Noet forum and website I still have a question. For those resources that are "like" on both Noet and Logos, will all the capabilities that Logos has work with the same? i.e. searching, tagging, linking, etc.

The example is the Harvard Classics that are being discussed in this thread. Specifically, the disparity in price that Mark Smith points out in the apparent less expensive Noet version.

Peace, Milford! Never fear. I was concerned that I was in the same situation as you and was about to chime in my similar question to Mike. I even was going to ask "Couldn't the Kant works be split out into an 'upgrade' collection for those of us who already own the rest, as is often done with pre-pubs?"

But then I realized that the Kant works are available in their own separate pre-pub:

And I'm already in on that one. So I do not need to order the Noet Modern Philosophy collection. In fact, it already shows the "Pre-order" button as grey, so I wasn't tempted to order it.

Perhaps you didn't bid on the Kant bundle when it was in CP (which I think it was; I don't seem to have the email about that anymore though). But it's not too late to get it at the pre-pub price.

You could either (1) wait until it goes live and then purchase it through a sales rep who can give you credit for the titles you already own, or (2) petition Logos to split out part of the collection in to an "upgrade" version of it for people who already own certain books. This might be harder to accomplish since all of those books have been available as one-offs in the past, so the range of possibilities of what books in that collection people have already is very wide. They're not going to make dozens of custom upgrade paths in pre-pub.

On the other hand, because all these titles are available as standalones, you could pick up any that you're missing via the Logos.com website.

If you mean that the listings on Noet wouldn't be fully linked into your Logos library if you bought them, yes, they would be, just like the Vyrso ones are. In fact currently the Noet site simply directs you to the Logos site to order the resources. I'm not sure but I'm guessing they will eventually make Noet more of a full-featured site like Vyrso.com where you can purchase books, logging in with your same Logos.com account credentials, and that the Noet site will take into account books you already own through Logos in showing you whether the "Pre-order" button is grey or not. But they might not follow this route, since all the Noet books are clearly still Logos editions (with complete tagging) of interest to Logos's core customers, and thus they aren't going to be pulled off the Logos site and put on Noet only. Not sure if they'll end up duplicating the listings. That would be foolhardy IMHO because it would open them up to discrepancies and site maintenance headaches.

Yes, they will work the same in terms of searching, tagging, linking. However, the tools available for researching the texts will differ depending on which application you use to study them. The Noet mobile app, for example, will feature a "Word Study" tool rather than a "Bible Word Study" tool. As we get closer to the release date of the Noet mobile and web apps, we'll provide more details about how they are the similar/dissimilar to the Logos versions. The general features that you've come to expect of our digital books, however--searching, tagging and linking--will be available whether you read our books in the Logos or Noet versions of the software.

Yes, you're correct. Dynamic pricing is not available for any pre-pub or pre-order product on Logos.com at this time. The Noet bundles were put together and discounted significantly as a promotional offer during Noet's initial launch period, and we recognize the difficult this creates for individuals who purchased parts of the these bundles prior to their being listed. That being said, Rosie's right about the options presented above, except that we haven't broken up the collections that make up the Ancient Philosophy Bundle and Modern Philosophy Bundle yet. Those collections recently come out of community pricing, so you'll have to wait awhile before you can buy the titles in those collections as individual books.

Yes, I apologize for the confusion. We've updated The Medieval Preaching and Spirituality Collection (34 vols.) product page to indicate that the Boethius resource is from the Loeb Classical Library.
