This article was created from a community discussion.
This community is here to connect you with other Logos users, provide resources, and help you grow in your understanding of our product tools and resources. Welcome to the Logos Community—let’s grow together!
Feedback vs. Forum
- Forums: For discussions, questions, and polls — focused on sharing insights.
- Feedback: For submitting product ideas or suggesting new resources for our store. Feedback posts are organized with statuses to keep you updated on the idea’s journey.
Categories
The community is organized into three main product categories:
- Logos and Verbum: For all discussions related to Logos Bible Software and Verbum.
- Books and Categories: Focused on resources and literature available through Logos.
- Proclaim: For discussions specific to the Proclaim software.
Post Types
There are two primary types of posts: Forum Posts and Feedback Posts.
Forum Post Types
- Question Posts: Use these for questions needing answers. Once a best answer is accepted, the post is marked as resolved.
- Discussion Posts: For open-ended topics, such as user tips or discussions about new features.
- Poll Posts: These allow members to vote and discuss options on various topics.
Feedback Post Types
- Idea Posts: Specifically for product ideas and suggestions. Idea posts have statuses that indicate their progress (e.g., “Submitted,” “In Process,” “Done,” etc.).
Mention a Member
When replying to a post, you can mention someone by typing @ followed by their username. Just a heads up, some usernames might be the same, so you can also look at their profile picture or choose the username at the top of the list if the pictures match.
When responding to a post, a member can give special mention to another by typing the @ symbol followed by that individuals user name. Be mindful that some user names may have duplicates, in which case you can refer to the profile image or select the username at the top of the list if the profile images match.
Let’s try it out! See the screenshot to the right.
By typing @Jason Stone, you’ll see a few options. I can choose my personal account by looking at the profile image. There’s also my work account. Once I select the account and hit publish, that profile will get a notification.
Some members have mentioned that occasionally, a member might try a few times to get the mention feature to work correctly.
Quote in Response
With the introduction of the @Mention feature, quoting is less of a priority but still an option. There are two ways that members can quote one another.
- Quote in Full: Select "Quote" beneath the post or comment that is being quoted. By doing so, the entire text will be linked in your response. Simply type your response before hitting publish.
- Quote in Part: Copy the portion of text that you would like to quote and paste it into the reply box. With that text selected, locate the encircled ¶ symbol to enable the rich text editor. From there, select to format your pasted text as a quote before responding below.
If you want to ensure your comment and quote is seen by the right person, consider mentioning them in your reply by typing @ followed by their user name.
Tags and Tagging
Tags are used to organize content further. They allow filtering by:
- Device Type (e.g., Desktop App, Web App, Mobile App)
- Denomination Products (e.g., Reformed Products, Jewish Products)
- Features
- Performance
This tagging system ensures that you can easily find posts related to specific devices, features, or theological perspectives.
Search
Our community uses advanced search features to help you find information quickly. You can search by keywords, tags, and post types to narrow down your results.
Exact text matching
If " characters are used around certain terms, this will change the keyword generation for these terms. It also applies different rules than the full text matching.
Usage
- Other terms "Exact Terms"
- Other terms + "a plus can be used as well"
- "Match this" "and this" + "also this"
Exact text exclusion
If - characters and " characters are used around certain terms, this will change the keyword generation for these terms. It also applies different rules than the full text matching.
Usage
- Other terms -"don't match this"
- Other terms -"not this" -"also not this"
Ranks, Points, Reactions, and Roles
In our community, ranks and levels recognize and reward members for their engagement, contributions, and commitment. Every new member begins at Level 0 as a “New Member” and can progress through five main levels. As members participate—answering questions and interacting with others—they earn points that increase their rank (e.g. when a member’s post receives a reaction, they earn one point). To travel up the ranks quickly, continue to share within and support the community regularly.
Reacting to Posts — Reactions
Our community also offers a reactions feature, allowing members to leave a quick, positive response to posts and comments without needing to reply. Reactions are intended to convey agreement, appreciation, or support in a simple, unobtrusive way. This feature helps maintain the flow of discussions and reduces unnecessary replies. Misuse of reactions will also be monitored, as it’s important to use this feature constructively.
Here’s a Member breakdown:
- Level 1 (✭): Awarded at 1 post.
- Level 2 (✭✭): Achieved by earning 25 points.
- Level 3 (✭✭✭): Granted at 100 points.
- Level 4 (✭✭✭✭): Reached with 500 points.
- Level 5 (✭✭✭✭✭): Our highest regular rank, awarded at 1,000 points.
*24-hour edit permissions
In addition to these levels, we have unique ranks for community leaders and staff:
- Administrator: For administrators with the highest community oversight.
- MVP: A special rank for highly valued contributors, awarded manually.
- Logos Staff & Lexham Press Staff: Reserved for our team members, providing official guidance and support.
These ranks help foster a supportive and engaging environment, allowing members to see their contributions recognized as they grow within the community.
Reporting or “Flagging” a Post
In our community, if a post seems inappropriate, off-topic, or otherwise violates community guidelines, members can flag the post for review. Once flagged, the post will be reviewed by our community administrators and moderators to ensure it aligns with our standards. This process helps maintain a respectful and productive environment for everyone. Abuse of the flagging feature will not be tolerated, and flagged content is reviewed daily to ensure swift and fair action.
Community Rules
By posting to our community, you are agreeing to adhere to our Community Rules and Logos' Terms of Service.
