Logos 4.3 Feature Parity ?

Wondering about Logos 4.3 Feature Parity plans for this development cycle ? (copied from Feature Parity section)
Logos 4.2a stable, shipping release nearing feature parity with PC, notably missing Handouts (future To Do)
- PC Notes have more capabilities than Mac, including automatic hyperlinking of scripture in notes.
- PC has more font size options: Program Scaling (removed from Mac due to display issues) plus font slider adjustment in Bible Word Study, Collections, Exegetical Guide, Passage Guide, Passage List, Reading Plan, Search, and Text Comparison.
- PC Home Page customization has drag and drop option to change order of display (can sync to Mac via Logos servers).
- PC Passage List has drag and drop option to change verse order plus compact view to show verse references without text.
- PC has Print/Export for Collections
- PC Bible Word Study (BWS) has click on hebrew lemma option to change numbered lemma’s, need workaround for Mac.
- PC Bible Search with Grid display can hover mouse over grid box to display Bible verse in a pop-up. PC mouse pointer changes to hand over Bible version header; both PC and Mac can click Bible version header to change text displayed in Grid.
- PC Morph Search Analysis group by Lemma shows Lemma in summary lines, Mac does not
- PC can create and edit Syntax Search. Mac can run Syntax Search (sync from PC), however, Mac lacks ability to check or uncheck items in Clause Level, Clause Projected, and Clause Category.
Observation: Logos 4.2a mentions Printing in all Panels for Mac (except Copy Bible Verses, Home, Layouts, and Library). Logos 4.2a SR-3 on Mac does not have Print/Export for Collections (included in above list gleaned from Logos forum discussions).

Handouts for PC are on the rewrite pile if my memory is correct, Thomas will know for sure.. no need to be concerned that they are AWOL in mac.
with each release, the parity between mac and windows seems to get nearer and nearer, speakin as a PC man this is a good thing..
Never Deprive Anyone of Hope.. It Might Be ALL They Have

Correct on both counts Dominic. Handouts won't come to Mac in their current anemic state - once they are rewritten they should debut on both platforms.DominicM said:Handouts for PC are on the rewrite pile if my memory is correct, Thomas will know for sure.
Sarcasm is my love language. Obviously I love you.

Looking forward to Handouts improvement, original post included link to forum post by Tom Philpot on 20 Jan 2011: "Handouts rewrite is still a future TODO."
Also added Syntax Search bug forum links since Mac lacks ability to check or uncheck items in Clause Level, Clause Projected, and Clause Category plus more Mac bugs

Added another Notes forum link to Feature Parity list:
* PC Notes have more capabilities than Mac, including automatic hyperlinking of scripture in notes and right click to Note item

Perhaps, Logos is not improving Notes for the Mac version for the same reason we do not have Handouts: they are performing a do-over on Notes for both versions. Well, I can dream, can't I? Anxious to see what 4.3 Beta will have to offer after all these bugs. [:P] (That doesn't look like panting, does it?)

Likewise hoping Logos 4.3 Beta resolves many items in Feature Parity list that have been gleaned from forum and personal usage observations.

It's also worth noting that several included features still need a bit of work. Where print/export works, it is often quirky - at least in my use. I have to export to RTF, reformat the file, then print it. If I print directly I usually get odd margins or poor format. Also, scrolling issues continue to exist with passage lists (jumpy text) and notes and clippings (very slow scrolling). Those are my main pet peeves right now.

Noticed Logos 4.3 Beta 1 has print/export bug fix for "Margins" drop down.
Feature Parity section has grown to 12 items:
- PC Notes have more capabilities than Mac, including automatic hyperlinking of scripture in notes and right click to Note item
- PC has more font size options: Program Scaling plus font slider adjustment in Bible Word Study, Collections, Exegetical Guide, Passage Guide, Passage List, Reading Plan, Search, and Text Comparison.
- PC Home Page customization has drag and drop option to change order of display (can sync to Mac via Logos servers).
- PC Passage List has drag and drop option to change verse order plus compact view to show verse references without text.
- PC has Print/Export for Collections plus printing with good margins
- PC Bible Word Study (BWS) has click on hebrew lemma option to change numbered lemma’s, need workaround for Mac.
- PC Bible Search with Grid display can hover mouse over grid box to display Bible verse in a pop-up. PC mouse pointer changes to hand over Bible version header; both PC and Mac can click Bible version header to change text displayed in Grid.
- PC Bibliography works, planned for future Mac release
- PC Morph Search Analysis group by Lemma shows Lemma in summary lines, Mac does not
- PC Parallel Resources can use arrow keys to navigate many collections, Mac cannot
- PC can create and edit Syntax Search. Mac can run Syntax Search (sync from PC), however, Mac lacks ability to check or uncheck items in Clause Level, Clause Projected, and Clause Category plus more Mac bugs
- PC has middle mouse clicks that do not work on Mac
Noticed Logos 4.3 Beta 2 has fixes for:
- One Note issue
- PC Parallel Resources can use arrow keys to navigate many collections, Mac cannot
- PC can create and edit Syntax Search. Mac can run Syntax Search (sync from PC), however, Mac lacks ability to check or uncheck items in Clause Level, Clause Projected, and Clause Category plus more Mac bugs
Thankful for improvements [:D] (now to test and verify)

Feature Parity section has 4 more items gleaned from Logos 4 Mac forum discussions:
- PC Morph Search can use drop-down menu to populate selection, while need to type Morph Code(s) on Mac
- PC Highlighting can create style then choose color that does not work on Mac
- PC Scrolling up and down in Bible resource is consistent, but Mac can be slow, plus get worse with use
- PC Scrolling in search results can be done using arrow keys on keyboard, not usable on Mac

Referenced Logos 4 Mac forum thread includes reply by fgh => http://community.logos.com/forums/p/32608/243511.aspx#243511 about Morph Code selection bugginess.

Feature Parity section has 4 more items gleaned from Logos 4 Mac forum discussions:
- PC Morph Search transliteration entry includes English gloss for lemmas, while Mac only shows lemmas
- PC Search results has right click expand/collapse options plus larger clickable area for article expand/collapse than Mac
- PC Text Comparison can select and copy individual verses, but Mac needs workaround using Print/Export
- PC Timelines has styles menu to change timeline appearance, not yet implemented on Mac
Personally dreaming of easier to use Text Comparison tool on Mac & PC for passage entry and version selection along with Stop button like Search (so can can Text Comparison setup). On both platforms, have experienced Text Comparison reverting to previous passage or comparison list (via Tab or Enter key).
