Official: More details about the coming subscription launch

As you probably know, in the fall, we'll launch the next version of Logos as a subscription. We're slowly rolling out the subscription, and more and more customers are now able to get early access to it.

As the full launch gets closer, I wanted to give you a few more updates on what to expect.

First, new libraries will be available for subscribers to purchase.

  • At launch, we'll offer Starter through Collectors, and some great new content will be included in those libraries. As usual, those libraries are discounted at around 90%. Libraries are yours to keep, and dynamic pricing means you won't pay twice if you already own some of the books.

  • We'll also have some new libraries based around specific use cases, similar to the Academic, Preaching Suite, and Counseling libraries we offer with Logos 10. These libraries will align with our three subscription tiers, so there will be one set of libraries aimed at small group leaders, one set aimed at preachers, and one set aimed at those who love the original languages.

  • Verbum subscriptions and Verbum libraries will also launch at the same time.
  • Early next year, those libraries will be joined by brand new denominational libraries.

Next, let me say something more about perks that we'll include when the subscription is fully launched.

  • We've previously announced that every subscriber will receive a 5% discount storewide. This discount applies to everything in our store. The only exceptions are subscriptions, credit purchases (like Book Cache and gift cards), bulk purchases, and Pre-Pub and pre-order titles.

  • Each subscription plan will also include Mobile Ed courses, which we'll freshen up every quarter or so to give you the chance to learn from various instructors and about a range of topics. The courses will be specially selected to complement the use case of each tier. The bigger tiers will also receive more courses each quarter.

  • We've also previously announced that Logos 10 owners will also be able to qualify for the Legacy Fallback License. This means that if you remain subscribed for 24 consecutive months, you'll be your features, even if you subsequently cancel your subscription. (A few features, especially those cloud-backed or AI-based, will be excluded from the Legacy Fallback License.) The legacy fallback license will be available in October 2026, so if you qualify before then because you're part of early access, you'll need to wait until October before you receive it. If you qualify after that, we'll give you the license as soon as you qualify.

  • Logos Pro and Logos Max subscribers will get two additional perks. Firstly, they'll get free access to the premium features in Logos Sermons. But they will also get a 5% annual rewards coupon (a coupon worth 5% of your previous year’s spend).

We've also had lots of questions about pricing. We’re working out final pricing for everyone, but we can confirm what the discounted pricing will be for Logos 10 owners:

  • Premium: $6.99/month or $69.99/year (for those with Bronze features or higher)
  • Pro: $9.99/month or $99.99/year (for those with Silver features or higher)
  • Max: $12.99/month or $129.99/year (requires Full Feature Set)

There will be more to come on pricing. We know you want to know this, and we’re working to finalize it, making sure our rates fit the everyday pastor’s or student’s budget.

Finally, you may have noticed our Logos 10 Farewell Sale that is happening now. Here are two reasons you’ll want to upgrade to Logos 10 (if you haven’t already) before the new subscription releases:

  1. You save today: You’ll get the best discounts we’ve ever offered on Logos 10 feature upgrades, libraries, and complete packages.
  2. You’ll save tomorrow: You’ll also get the best discount on the subscription version of Logos when you buy a Logos 10 Full Feature Upgrade or a Logos 10 Gold package (or above). Dynamic pricing also means you'll likely pay less for our next-generation Logos libraries if you purchase a discounted Logos 10 library today.

As we approach our fall launch and finalize our plans, we'll provide more updates over the coming weeks. If you let us know which questions you would like answered, we'll try to prioritize those for you in the next update.

PS –  Have you watched this update video from Bill, our CEO?

Thanks, Mark. That's the most clear and information packed update I've seen yet. I'm slowly warming up to the subscription model.

    • Premium: $6.99/month or $69.99/year (for those with Bronze features or higher)
    • Pro: $9.99/month or $99.99/year (for those with Silver features or higher)
    • Max: $12.99/month or $129.99/year (requires Full Feature Set)

Does this mean it would be a waste of money for someone with L10 FFS to subscribe at the Premium or Pro level?

Or does it mean that someone who does not have the L10 FFS can't use the Max tools?

Eating a steady diet of government cheese, and living in a van down by the river.

Does this mean it would be a waste of money for someone with L10 FFS to subscribe at the Premium or Pro level?

Or does it mean that someone who does not have the L10 FFS can't use the Max tools?

The latter. If you want the discount on Pro, you need Silver or the full feature set. If you want the discount on Max, you need the full feature set.

Does this mean it would be a waste of money for someone with L10 FFS to subscribe at the Premium or Pro level?

    Hey Doc,

You have FFS 10, but if you want to get the features that will continue to develop, you should consider a subscription. If you then subscribe for 2 years you will get all the new features to own (except for AI features)

Does this help? I am in the same boat and subscribed.

If you then subscribe for 2 years you will get all the new features to own (except for AI features)

Except for AI and Cloud features.

Mark: Would new features compared to L10 Full Feature set be marked clearly as "AI", "Cloud", or "AI & Cloud"? This would tell us what features will be included in the Fallback license.

    Thanks

    I believe in a Win-Win-Win God.

    Thanks Mark.

    Blessings in Christ.

Current libraries have always been restricted to those who own a current feature set or a subscription, and we're not changing this restriction. You won't need a paid subscription to buy a library – a free trial will be sufficient.

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for responding. I didn't realize that buying features was a necessary condition for buying packages bcos I bought feature set anyways. Thanks for pointing out trial subscription as a way forward. How many times can we do trial subscription (over a calendar year or 12 month period)? The reason I'm asking is because I rarely buy all my packages at one shot.

I've bought different Logos 10 libraries in 7 different occasions (Jul 24, May 24, Dec 23, Nov 23, Aug 23, Dec 22, Nov 22). The reason I don't buy it all at one go is that (i) my interest in certain resources get piqued at different points in time and I always try to get the libraries that contains the resource rather than the individual resource, and (ii) the dynamic pricing kicks in after each library purchase and lowers the library cost that contains the resource that I'm interested in. And the new price makes it more attractive to purchase the library.

If I can do only one trial subscription, I will have to be content to make my first purchase with a trial subscription and then wait for the latest library to become legacy library to purchase it.

I know you're super busy, but would love an answer when you get the time.

    I believe in a Win-Win-Win God.

How many times can we do trial subscription (over a calendar year or 12 month period)?

    Just once, I'm afraid.

If you wanted to buy additional libraries later on, the worst-case scenario would be to take out a one-month subscription to the cheapest tier. That would also get you a subscriber-exclusive 5% additional discount on the library, so I doubt it would add much to your overall cost, and it may, in fact, be cheaper.

I think we all understood the past actions of purchase options - the questions are likely tied to the extreme changes in business strategy from what was the norm.... Since the decision was made to unhinge Features from Libraries and insert them solely into a subscription option - the thought existed that maybe the route for Libraries would change as well....

IMHO, limiting Library purchases just hurts the bottom line for Logos - as some who may not be interested in or willing to subscribe may have been interested in purchasing from the new library options - from the outside view, the more sales the better for the company...

    Hey Mark, good email, thanks.

I had one question about Mobile Ed - will there be new courses developed? My understanding is the Mobile Ed group has been pretty much shut down, so I am curious if the courses offered each quarter are the ones already available.

    Thanks!

I'm still not clear on the previous charges. I paid for a faith life connect renewal I think in May. then I paid 9.99 for a couple of months or so for the Logos AI stuff. then I paid for the 129.99. Then I saw a post that said something about the fiathlife would be refunded and applied to the Max. then I looked at the order history and saw all sorts of addition and subtraction that I couldn't follow that had happened to the previous order. I assume that is the company going back and doing what was said, but I couldn't follow whatever math was going on. without sounding silly, this is the same reason I struggle to play uno or chess.

would you mind looking at my account and just a simple yes or no if whatever needed to happen has happened as far as charges go. thank you. I tried chatting with customer support maybe few weeks or so ago, but that got confusing for me too.

    Tony,

Yes, everything that needed to happen, has happened!

Thanks for your understanding during this transition.

In a way, it's capitalism gone bizaare, while the CEO pleads he's supporting something.  And folks feverishly try to determine if Faithlife is just taking their money. But one can play the Amazon Prime game ... a free trial subscription to buy from the company. I assume those libraries must not be terribly profitable (to the company).

Eating my popcorn. Got my L10. Happy.

I assume those libraries must not be terribly profitable (to the company).

They must be highly profitable. Otherwise, no reason to offer Legacy libraries historically. I think this is just one way to try and squeeze more profits. If not enough people libraries bcos of subscription requirement then, thanks to capitalism, they will revert back. The new CEO's job will be to increase profitability, so he will try man different things for sure.

    I believe in a Win-Win-Win God.

I think this is just one way to try and squeeze more profits.

Sure, profits are always in view. However, if one believes the vision statement that they are actually trying to equip and enable people to do the work of the ministry, that may be another reason to offer affordable libraries with smaller profit margins. Call it a win-win. Also, call me naive. I enjoy trying to see the best in people. It's one of my flaws.

Will the libraries never be available for purchase if not a subscriber?

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that at some point, these libraries will become "legacy libraries" and then be available to everyone.

Thanks for clarifying that Legacy libraries will not require subscription.

    I believe in a Win-Win-Win God.

I know you guys are finalizing pricing for non Logos 10 subscribers but that is the key piece of information that determines if buying the Logos 10 packages during the farewell sale makes sense.  If I'm a small group leader that may subscribe to Premium or maybe even the lower tier that was hinted, how do i know if spending $200 for Bronze is worth it without some sort of ballpark idea of what the full price of premium is?  It has to make sense that it won't take me 5+ years to recoup that investment.  Plus, the full feature set is not much more, so does it make sense for me to pay 286 for that vs 191 for bronze feature set.  I currently have starter.

If you qualify after that, we'll give you the license as soon as you qualify.

    • We're planning additional perks and hope to say more about them soon.

For anyone like myself that owns the L10 full feature set, who has zero interest in A.I. features and rented books in the Logos subscriptions, zero interest in a 5% discount storewide, and zero interest in the included Mobile Ed courses, here's a question that needs to be asked.  Why should we risk paying a subscription for two years in order to keep all features covered under the Legacy Fallback License (a total cost of either $139.98 for premium, $199.98 for full, or $259.98 for max), considering that we don't know in advance what all of those keepable features will be under the Legacy Fallback License?  I think this is a very fair question, and it needs to be asked.

Each subscription plan will also include Mobile Ed courses, which we'll freshen up every quarter or so to give you the chance to learn from various instructors and about a range of topics. The courses will be specially selected to complement the use case of each tier. The bigger tiers will also receive more courses each quarter.

    Hi Mark,

    For the Mobile Ed courses:

    a) Are they only limited to the ones Logos curates for subscribers every quarter or so, or do we get to pick 1-2 Mobile Ed courses per quarter to peruse?

    b) Are they for the subscribers to keep, or only available for access during that quarter?

    For the Mobile Ed courses:

    a) Are they only limited to the ones Logos curates for subscribers every quarter or so, or do we get to pick 1-2 Mobile Ed courses per quarter to peruse?

    b) Are they for the subscribers to keep, or only available for access during that quarter?

They will be limited to the ones we curate, and you'll be able to access them during that quarter, so long as you remain a subscriber.

They will be limited to the ones we curate, and you'll be able to access them during that quarter, so long as you remain a subscriber.

Am I correct in assuming that the Mobile Ed courses will follow the same structure as the subscriptions, in the sense that Pro will include the all videos from Premium plus more, and Max will include all the videos from Pro and Premium, plus additional courses specific to that tier?

One thought I would like to submit: Would you be willing to consider allowing subscribers to choose a certain number of Mobile Ed courses to unlock per quarter? Let's say one month I really want to watch a video on an original-language feature that isn't included in the curated selection. I could unlock that one video for that one quarter, and the count would reset at the beginning of the next quarter. This would allow users the ability to obtain access to highly-relevant content. Example: Premium subscribers would be able to unlock one video per quarter, Pro subscribers 2, and Max subscribers 3. Perhaps this would be too difficult to implement. But it was worth a try...

I think that's the plan, yes.

One thought I would like to submit: Would you be willing to consider allowing subscribers to choose a certain number of Mobile Ed courses to unlock per quarter?

    I'll pass the suggestion on.

We'll also have some new libraries based around specific use cases, similar to the Academic, Preaching Suite, and Counseling libraries we offer with Logos 10. These libraries will align with our three subscription tiers, so there will be one set of libraries aimed at small group leaders, one set aimed at preachers, and one set aimed at those who love the original languages.

Will we be able purchase these specialty libraries across our subscription tier (e.g. a Pro user purchasing a Premium or Max library if that better fits their need)?

Is this tier-based libraries model a replacement of the previous S-M-L library sizing model?

Will we be able purchase these specialty libraries across our subscription tier (e.g. a Pro user purchasing a Premium or Max library if that better fits their need)?

I'm pretty sure there won't be restrictions placed on which libraries you can buy. So even if you're a Logos Premium subscriber, you would still be able to purchase a library aimed at Max subscribers.

Is this tier-based libraries model a replacement of the previous S-M-L library sizing model?

No, it's in addition to that.

It's not 100% confirmed yet, but I think it is likely there will be:

    • Standard track: Starter through Collectors
    • "Lay leaders" track: Starter through Gold
    • "Preachers" track: Bronze through Diamond
    • "Original languages" track: Silver through Portfolio

The libraries in each track will be different, so Standard Gold is different to "Preachers" Gold, just like standard Gold is currently different to "Baptist" Gold. Standard Gold will be a generalist library, whereas "Preachers" Gold will be a similar sized and priced library but focussed on books that should specifically help preachers.

If so, that would be 22 libraries in total in English –  at least until the denominational libraries come on stream early next year.

Releasing the libraries like this makes it hard for those of us who purchase the Ultimate base packages. Is there no Ultimate base package this release or do I have to wait until early next year for the Denominational base packages?

I'm in that category, too! I'll try to find out.

Ultimate will be available with the denominational packages.

Just an FYI - this approach is likely to delay my purchasing of any libraries unless there are compelling resources. My usual approach is to buy the denomination packages of interest to me (Anglican, Catholic, Orthodox, and optionally Lutheran) then check to see what a Standard package would offer. When it is primarily "noise" I pass. Other times, I find it a useful addition.

I agree with MJ. I am looking to see which library will offer me the best way to purchase resources that I am interested in. If I don't have the full menu of libraries to choose from, I will have no choice but to wait for all the libraries to be released.

Same here. I'm at the point the standard packages do not hold anything exciting or compelling.

    You're in luck

It's not 100% confirmed yet, but I think it is likely there will be:

    • Standard track: Starter through Collectors
    • "Lay leaders" track: Starter through Gold
    • "Preachers" track: Bronze through Diamond
    • "Original languages" track: Silver through Portfolio

It doesn't make sense if it is; there's not an unconditional correlation between title and use case, and I'm likely to buy a library of a certain size because it has the most appropriate range of stuff I want to look at, not because I'm a pastor or a deacon or a lay leader, you get me?

I'm feeling like, if this really is about the priesthood of all believers, the drive of those with passion but without title should be recognized and supported.

We've previously announced that every subscriber will receive a 5% discount storewide. This discount applies to everything in our store. The only exceptions are subscriptions, credit purchases (like Book Cache and gift cards), bulk purchases, and Pre-Pub and pre-order titles.

Will this discount be on top of sales or the academic discount, or will the 5% be replaced by the larger discount?

Do these get added to our library automatically or will it work like it does now where we get a code and purchase a 180-license to view them? I would also like to see, though it hasn't happened in a while, where the course(s) of a month get a large discount if we want to keep them. We previously announced that subscribers will get two free books a month instead of the one that non-subscribers get. This will usually be a modern title, rather than the public domain books offered by Connect. I think the 5% storewide discount will replace the Lexham-specific discount.

Thank you Mark. I will definitely miss the 25% Lexham discount but I understand money needs to be made up somewhere for this. It was very useful for buying a hard copy book from Lexham.

IIRC, L10 Full Feature Owners have a grandfathered position on some cloud/AI related that it was not clear whether those features would be part of the Fallback License or not...

We have just over 1 week left for the sale - yet no information on what is or is not included with the Fallback - clarity on that information may be useful in the decision making process for some who do not yet own the Full Feature Set....

    Hi There,

Like many people, I'm kust trying to get my get my head around this. you say:

We've also had lots of questions about pricing. We’re working out final pricing for everyone, but we can confirm what the discounted pricing will be for Logos 10 owners:

    • Premium: $6.99/month or $69.99/year (for those with Bronze features or higher)
    • Pro: $9.99/month or $99.99/year (for those with Silver features or higher)
    • Max: $12.99/month or $129.99/year (requires Full Feature Set)

Currently, I get the full feature set through a Logos Connect Essentials subscription. I use the these features for my academic study. Can you explain if or how I can continue to access these features once L11 is released?

    Thanks.

The prices listed above are the same as the Early Access prices. Will these prices remain the same for Logos 10 users with Bronze or higher feature sets indefinitely? There seems to be a lot of people who don't want to subscribe now, but perhaps would consider it in a year or two if they see there are benefits to AI or some other new feature. I (and likely others) have been assuming if users didn't subscribe before the formal switch to subscriptions (and discontinuing Logos 10), all new subscribers would have to pay the higher prices.

I can't make a promise that Logos will never raise its prices, ever.

What I can say is that:

    • If you get on the discount track, you will stay on the discount track indefinitely.
    • There may come a time when it will no longer be possible to get on the discount track if you haven't already done so. If that happens, we'll announce it in advance to give you plenty of time to decide whether you want to come on board.

I understand that denominational libraries come out in 2025, but I see Verbum as different from that.  Will Verbum still exist as a separate entity, ie will there be a Verbum subscription plan that we could choose instead of the Logos Subscription? If so, will that happen at launch in 2024 or will we have to wait for that?

Thanks for the question. Yes, I should have mentioned that in my initial post.

    Mark,

I purchased both Logos !0 Ultimate and Verbum 10 Ultimate to gain access to all the books. Will I need both Logos subscription AND a Verbum subscription, or will my current Logos Max subscription suffice for both?

    Bob,

Mark responded to your similar query on 30th August i.e. "The books included in the Logos and Verbum subscriptions will differ significantly, but the features will be broadly similar. While there are a few features that are exclusive to Verbum, and a few that are exclusive to Logos, all of those exclusive features are already contained in the Logos 10 and Verbum 10 feature sets. So, if you have those, and you don't mind about the books, there's no need to subscribe to both Logos and Verbum."

So your Logos Max subscription will suffice, because your book purchases give you more than access  Subscriptions give you access to features and books but you will lose them when to cease to subscribe, whilst you keep anything that you purchased.

There will be more to come on pricing. We know you want to know this, and we’re working to finalize it, making sure our rates fit the everyday pastor’s or student’s budget.

Very relieved to know that the academic discount will not be forgotten about for the subscription plan pricing.  Thank you.

This seems strange - you know what you're going to charge existing customers but not what those who don't have these feature sets? So these are discounts but we have no idea how valuable those discounts are.

I also have an outstanding question on another thread (here) about which of these levels of discount my Logos 10 Academic Standard edition will attract (if any).  With the opportunity to upgrade to the Full Feature Set at a reduced price ending in less than a week, it is becoming increasingly hard to avoid the cynical suspicion that the uncertainty caused by delaying the answers to these questions will maximise the number of upgrades.

Are you in a position to give a clear answer as to whether the information to make an informed decision will be forthcoming before the end of the sale?

Moving to subscription is a complex operation, and we want to ensure we take the time to get it right. We started by focusing on our existing customers, which is why we've confirmed upgrade pricing first.

I'm sorry you feel that way. That isn't the case. I know several members of our team are working on pricing and academic discounts, although a couple of the key people are on vacation this week. We understand the importance of getting an answer before the end of the sale, and I'll do my best to get that for you.

I'm able to say that new customer pricing will be at least 30% higher than the discounted price – possibly quite a bit more.

I'm sorry that I can't be clearer than that at the moment. We understand the problem. Hopefully, we'll be able to give the additional clarity before the end of the sale, but if not, we'll extend the sale by a few days to ensure you don't feel pressured into making a decision without the information you need or miss out on a bargain.

Thanks for the measure of clarity you're able to offer. I do appreciate how difficult your role is here, it is most helpful

Early next year, those libraries will be joined by brand new denominational libraries.

Can you comment on what will happen to the current L10 denominational libraries? Will they continue to be offered until the new libraries come out?

Can you comment on what will happen to the current L10 denominational libraries? Will they continue to be offered until the new libraries come out?

Yes, we plan to offer them until they're replaced next year. After the subscription launches fully, L10 denominational libraries probably won't show up in the subscription checkout flow, though – you'd need to search the store for them.

    Bottom line question?

If I don’t subscribe, will my program become useless even after spending already significant $$ on Logos?

If I don’t subscribe, will my program become useless even after spending already almost 20k on Logos?

Short answer is No. You'll still be able to do everything you've always done.

But my question is, why would you be worried about spending $10/month for cool new features when you've already spent $20,000?

Can't speak for Danny, but my answer to this is that previously I purchased - now they want me to rent and possibly earn a purchase of unknown features that are currently out and the "TBD" future features that may or may not be Fallback Eligible....In some ways, it seems that Logos is asking its users to be another form of PE investor group - invest this subscription amount into our company and we will do our best to provide a "profit" (profit for the user being unknown future features they said user may or may not use, like or get value for) but we do not guarantee "profit" on your investment....

Maybe they should add that to the promotional material - Logos does not guarantee any ROI on your investment in our company....

Some of us like to know what we are purchasing, rather than trust a company known for promises that have not always panned out.... The Forums are full of "we're working on it" type posts that have many years of inquiry and waiting for delivery - some are the Commentary Set that has been in the works for over ten years that customers are getting frustrated, Prepubs in the works for years, Forum software updates, polishing of some features....

Good thing you're not an Accordance user. Two years later and they're still working on features that were advertised as part of version 14 when it was released for sale! By now, they should be releasing version 15, but that will probably never happen. Ever.

The fact that Logos is moving to a subscription model means that Logos users won't face the same fate as Accordance users (or, even worse, BibleWorks users).

And Logos isn't forcing anyone to subscribe to anything. Keep what you have and enjoy it for the rest of your career.

Not that is any of your business, but I had a “cool” program for CRM before and invested significantly amount of money also, and they became a subscription company. Bottom line, lost any ability to use the program further and hence money spent. Not to mention all my effort and data I needed to migrate.

Seems a bit presumptuous of you for asking about worrying for “cool” features at $10. Every dollar is to be used wisely, even if it for “cool” features, no matter how much I have spent.

And.... What some users see as "cool", some see as a wasted investment.... Other users have made statement of being disappointed with past Feature Set releases.... That was the benefit of purchasing, not subscribing - a user was able to decide if the next release was worth the investment - now the company wants blind investment in unknown features.... Which highlights your using our dollars wisely.

I'm sorry you had a negative experience with this CRM program. But we're talking apples and oranges here, because if you choose not to subscribe to Logos, you won't lose anything you've already purchased, and your software will continue to run on new machines going forward.

First, let me say, I completely understand your concerns! Logos/Faithlife/whatever name they are using this month has made several promises, and due to circumstances within and beyond their control, have been altered, broken, etc. Like you, Forgive me, if I don't trust your say so.
Second, as far as current situations go, I do applaud the company's current attempts and believable intentions. I word it this way, because I actually do believe their intended 'promises are ones they believe they can honor later. I dont always believe this and trust this, as several changes have been made that have altered their promises. Offers, pricing, reductions in what was all fill me with a very bad taste in my mouth. Faithlife Now, for example, was a completely different offering when it started. We were given quite a bit of "benefits" it was actually worth subscribing to. Then it changed to Faithlife Connect, and so did the offerings. We lost some benefits. They promised current prices would remain forever, as long as we remained subscribers. But, if we cancel, even for a month, we could be subject to the new rates (this is as I remember the ":promise"). Do I believe this? Not a chance. But, it appears, and I do highlight that, that they are committed to honoring that promise; even with this transition. (Hoping so). Now, however, we are to lose yet another ebook a month. Well, that's not too big a deal for me, because I'm at the cheaper books anyway, so, it's not a huge benefit any longer, But, it's still nice.

Ok, all that to say, You are right to be concerned over their "promises". However, they are currently a company that has done the right thing (NOT something I have given them a lot of praise for; but the contrary) in that they have struck deals so that once we buy a book, pr resource, we "own" it, even if Logos loses the license to that book. A big problem for people in other situations where they have purchased a movie, for example, and suddenly, they no longer have access to it. WHY NOT? So, in this one area, I do praise Logos for doing the right thing.

Other people have already answered this, but just to make it very clear.

No, your program will not become useless if you don't subscribe. You'll still be able to continue to use the features and books you have already paid for, and we'll continue to ship bug fixes and compatibility updates to all our users.

As you probably know, in the fall, we'll launch the next version of Logos as a subscription. We're slowly rolling out the subscription, and more and more customers are now able to get early access to it.

As the full launch gets closer, I wanted to give you a few more updates on what to expect...

As we approach our fall launch and finalize our plans, we'll provide more updates over the coming weeks. If you let us know which questions you would like answered, we'll try to prioritize those for you in the next update.

First, thank you for your "up til now" explanation.
Unfortunately, however, it seems as if we are left with more questions than answers.
We can't go backwards, of course, and hind-sight is almost always 20/20. Nevertheless, I would have thought Logos would have waited to begin rolling this out, until Logos knew exactly what was going on.
Yes, there may never be the "perfect" time; but, as you say, "As we approach our fall launch and finalize our plans..." leading me to believe Logos was more concerned about beating deadlines than finalizing plans, and knowing exactly what was going to happen. Perhaps Logos does; but, it doesn't seem to be as clear as Logos would like to think it is. Of course, it may never be known just how many questions arise, until revelation day-- regardless how well prepared one is.
Just a thought, and, hopefully there's a way to get a better control on things; now that the "cat is out of the bag" as they say. And, perhaps this thread was intended to do precisely that.

I discovered the What's New in Logos Webinar, particularly August, and I am jumping up and down with excitement. I am not even 10 minutes into the webinar, and I feel after 15+ years, I will FINALLY be able to fully use Logos, and I mean FULLY!

I'm not quite sure where things have changed: has it always been this easy, or, has it been extremely complicated, and infuriating to the lesser user, and it has been simplified so a dummy such as I can understand. However, I am finally excited, to have the ability to comprehend what everyone else has been able to do, since day one!

But, so far, the Early Access is exactly what I had expected so many years ago, when I invested in Logos. Just seeing you explain the very second item (behind the name change to Dashboard) everything became extremely simple. I tried a search, for a verse that refused to show up several years ago, that caused L:ogos to rework the search, and, the fuzzy search found it immediately. Up til now, I used Google to do my searches, leaving me to wondering WHY I have over $10k invested in this software program.

All my apprehensions about subscriptions (which I already had been doing) to what benefits I would be losing, and, i have no doubts I will be losing out, somehow, are no longer a concern, because as I stated, this version seems extremely easy to use, ALL the features, without having to spend 600 years going to Logos University to still not understand how to use one millionth of the software.

THANK YOU! And, THANK YOU Logos for FINALLY coming up with a Logos even a dummy like me can understand!

Please consider offering an Original Languages library at launch as well :-)

Please consider offering an Original Languages library at launch as well :-)

    Yes! Yes! and Yes! [Y]

It has been a long time since Logos offered an Original Language Library publicly. I got one durning the Logos 4 days.

    חַפְּשׂוּ בַּתּוֹרָה הֵיטֵב וְאַל תִּסְתַּמְּכוּ עַל דְּבָרַי

Please consider offering an Original Languages library at launch as well :-)

We won't be using the name "Original Languages," but there will be a library track aimed at people who love original languages.

I can't shake the feeling that there's been a certain manner offense taken at the idea of seminaries making and preserving a deep, long-term commitment to Logos...

But they're seminaries. They're teaching for the faith, and they have to.

What about building libraries for other use cases, especially since the capacity to build larger libraries of our own, as it exists now, will soon be no more? That seems to make sense.

II'll save on the content I want to get today and tomorrow if I get a package now, as well, but in the immediate term, it seems getting a feature package while I have the chance is much more important.

I can't say I really think the feature sets in the subscriptions has been found by me to be necessary or sensible; I think I'd rather be supported to delve and to my own material and enjoy it than have combinations of it formulated for me; I'll save by not paying for features that would make me unhappy and uncomfortable just so I could have some content that would give me a little bit of help looking over my library. Honestly, it really seems like these AI features came from out of nowhere.

So what's going to be in the new denominational libraries?

Mark... Which should I cancel? What do I lose and what do i gain? I don't want to be paying both if both are the same.

Given that the renewal dates are far into the future and that you're currently getting three months free of Logos Max, I'd be inclined to hang on.

Once the full subscription launches, we'll probably merge both subscriptions on our end, and whatever term is left on the one will get added to the other (pro-rated).

Have you any ideas if the print library will be available after 2 years of subscription to max

Will it be a feature I can keep? Non ai side of course...

Print Library is included with the Logos 10 Full Feature Set - you might want to look at that, since you will "own" it going forward. Hopefully they will extend the Last Chance Sale until launch since they have not educated users on what is Fallback License eligible and what is not.... The sale ends on September 6th.

It's unlikely, to be honest. Print Library works entirely in the cloud, and is therefore likely to be excluded.

Just heard about this today.  I bought this stuff.  Now it's gone.  :(

    What’s gone?

We've also had lots of questions about pricing. We’re working out final pricing for everyone, but we can confirm what the discounted pricing will be for Logos 10 owners:

    • Premium: $6.99/month or $69.99/year (for those with Bronze features or higher)
    • Pro: $9.99/month or $99.99/year (for those with Silver features or higher)
    • Max: $12.99/month or $129.99/year (requires Full Feature Set)

    Hi Mark,

In a couple of days, I’m scheduled to be charged for what appears to be a “Logos Pro” subscription. I own the “Logos 10 Collector’s Edition” including the “Full Feature Upgrade.”

Will I have the option to subscribe to “Logos Max”?

This is not a Logos Pro subscription. It's your Faithlife Connect subscription which has had Logos Pro features added into it.

While you can subscribe to Max in addition, that might not be cost-effective for you, as there's likely not a lot of extra value given you already have L10 Collectors (and no extra features above Pro). Once your Connect subscription has been fully migrated to the new subscription (which will happen in the fall), you'll then be able to easily switch to Max.

    Hi Mark,

First of all, thank you for being so supportive before as MVP and now as a Logos employee.

I have a question regarding language subscriptions. I will finish my trial period for the Pro in about 10 days. I have the FF in Spanish and Silver package in L10. As there is no info about prices and what’s included in the Spanish one, it will be possible moving from languages? My understanding is that features should be the same but not the books included in the subscription, right? Now I have an annual subscription (1st payment around September the 15th), it will be possible to move for example in December to the Spanish one without starting a new annual subscription? Did you recommend to cancel my subscription during the trial period and then decide once the Spanish one is launched officially? I know this is quite particular case, but I know several people are in a similar situation and don’t know what to do.

    Thanks again for your support.

    Yes, it will be possible.

You can take an annual English subscription now and then switch to a Spanish subscription once they are launched. Any remaining time on your English subscription will be transferred to the Spanish one (or pro-rated if you choose a differently-priced tier).

Mark, I have no questions... no criticisms... no concerns.

What I do have is immense appreciation for the way you have dealt with all the posts (here AND in other threads) that have raised legitimate questions, criticisms, and concerns as your customers have tried to get a handle on how we will be affected by this change to a subscription model.

Your patience and grace have been a blessing, and for me, the content of your replies has been very helpful.

    Thank you!

I agree with what Rick wrote, thanks Mark!

    Hi, Steve.

You definitely qualify.  The only difference right now is you get 100 books more than Pro.  Max features will be coming in future in the area of original languages.  You will also get to keep any non-AI and non-Cloud features after two years as well.

    Hi Steve

As I understand it the benefits of Max are the extra resources to a facilitate the study of original languages in some depth.

I am afraid that reading these forum I fear that some folk are going for 'Max' in order to have 'Max' rather than because they actually need 'Max'.

So if you are a student of Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic etc in context then Max is for you. If not then spending the extra money to get Max is just profligate.

Very good counsel.... I also believe that some are jumping in for the sake of having Max rather than needing the tools they would be paying for

If you already have the L10 Full Feature Set, the price for Max isn't that much more. I signed up for it as insurance for the LFL in case they offer any special tools just for that level in the next 2 years--which Mark indicated they might.
