Page Contents
Objective
The objective of this wiki page is to show you how to open a book for reading. It will guide you through the most common steps
of clearing the layout, selecting a book and opening it, opening the Highlighting tool, and resizing panels (window panes).
Opening your book to read
- Clear your layout
- If you are on the Home Page, then click the Home page icon to switch to your layout.
- If you have several panels open from a previous study, type close all in the Command box
or click the Close all panels icon in the main Toolbar.
As you are reading in a book you may like to highlight phrases or sentences that you want to remember.
Logos provides a Highlighting tool with an extensive set of highlighters, but you may need to resize/relocate the Highlighting panel if the layout is to be practical.
Logos provides a way to navigate between highlighted text and to search for text which is highlighted with a specific style.
- Open the Highlighting tool from the Tools menu.
- Logos opens the Highlighting panel on the left by default.
- The panel can be relocated to the other side of the window and it can be re-sized by dragging on either edge.
Viewing the Table of Contents
You may want to view your Table of Contents for your book. Logos provides a method which shows it
on the left side of your book, and it can be turned ON or OFF.
- On the left side of the toolbar is the Sidebar icon.
Click on it to show the Table of Contents.
- You can click on any of the entries there and Logos will reposition your book to that location.
- If an entry is truncated, hold your mouse over that entry and Logos will show you a pop-up with the full entry.
Alternatively, you can drag the right edge of the Table of Contents and resize it.
- Click on the sidebar icon to hide the Table of Contents.
