How do I get a layout to show when I open Logos?
If Logos opens to the Home Page or a blank layout you will need to disable this so that your layout can appear.
Alternatively, you may want Logos to restart to a saved layout.
- This is done from Program Settings in the Tools menu:
- Click the menu button opposite At Startup Open to and choose:-
- Most recent layout – local to load a layout that will be automatically saved on exit.
This is the most efficient way to ensure continuity. - Most recent layout – any to load a layout that will be automatically saved on exit –
when it is shared between different installations. - A named layout to load a specific version of your layout i.e. one that you saved before exiting.
- Home or Dashboard to load the Home page.
If Logos opened to a Blank layout or the Home Page (Dashboard), you can access one of your Saved layouts from the Layouts menu.

Moving Tabs
Moving a single tab
- Drag a single tab and drop it in a new location indicated by the shadow image around the cursor. It can create a new tile or be dropped between tabs in an existing tile.
Moving all tabs in a tile
- If you hold the shift key down then click on a tab and start dragging the tab, all the tabs in that tile will move and you can drop them in a new location on your layout.
Closing Tabs
- There are several ways to close a Tab.
Using the X
- Click on the resource’s Tab so that it is visible.
- Click on the X on the right side of this Tab’s window.
Using the Right Click
- Right click on the resource’s Tab.
- When the drop down menu appears, click on Close this tab.
Using the keyboard
- Click on the resource’s Tab so that it is visible.
- From the keyboard, press the key combination Ctrl+F4.
Closing all windows in your Layout
- Click Close All panels icon in the main Logos toolbar; or
- Type close all in the Command box.
When you open certain tools from the Tools menu e.g. Highlighting, Information, Logos opens them in a fixed size tile in your layout and you cannot grab the edge to re-size it.
The easiest way is to drag a tool to a location from where it will be re-sizeable:
- Click on Tools in the top menu.
- Click on the tool that you want to place on your layout. Do not release the mouse button.
- Drag the tool to where you want it and release the mouse button.
- Now you can grab the side of the tile to resize it.
- If you already have tools in fixed size tile, you should drag them into the new tile.
