Logos 4.0b Crashes
The following crashes have been logged from Logos 4.0b. The error IDs on this page are specific to 4.0b and may not correspond to errors from other versions of the software.
Cause: the index is corrupted
Workaround: Use command “Rebuild Index”
Cause: Corrupt Fontcache file
Solution: Run Services.msc. Stop Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 service. Delete FontCache3.0.0.0.dat in (XP) C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Application Data OR (Vista/Win 7) C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local. Reboot the computer.
This problem also manifests itself in a hang on the home page. Logos 4 will start to open, but the home page never pulls up and the program freezes; the only way to close it is through Task Manager. The same solution should work for that scenario.
Error ID: 3773 – NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Cause: A bug in .NET 3.5.
Workaround: Open Regional & Language Options in Control Panel, Open Languages tab and click on “Details” and remove the Handwriting tools from the list. There may be more than one.
Error ID: 4418 – Error detail: ArgumentException: The index file is locked.
Cause: The Logos 4 folder being set to Read only.
Workaround: remove the read only status for the Logos 4 folder.
Error ID: 4792 – InvalidOperationException: Error reading postings. Document id out of range.
Alternate Error IDs: 6081, 6728
Cause: Corrupt or Incompatible Index
Workaround: Open Logos 4 to empty layout and use command: Rebuild Index
Error ID: 4824 – FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly ‘System.Data.SQLite, Version=1.0.65.1010, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=db937bc2d44ff139’ or one of its dependencies. The located assembly’s manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
Cause: Unknown, Appears that Logos 4 is attempting to load a newer SQLite manifest through an older version of SQLite.
Workaround: Move \Logos4\Data, Documents & Users folders to Desktop (to preserve Resources, Data, and Index). Uninstall Logos Bible Software 4 & Logos 4 Prerequisites through Windows Control Panel. Reinstall Logos 4. Replace Data, Documents & Users folders.
Error ID: 4991 – NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Cause: Unknown problem in automatically loaded Layout.
Workaround: Hold CTRL while opening Logos 4, on Sign-In screen select “Use blank layout” to open Logos 4 to an empty layout. Open Layouts menu and delete previous layout, named or “snapshot”.
Error ID: 5139 – COMException: Exception from HRESULT: 0x88980406
Cause: Conflict in .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 on Windows XP with the Handwriting Recognition Tool
Workaround: Open Regional & Language Options in Control Panel, Open Languages tab and click on “Details” and remove the Handwriting tools from the list. There may be more than one.
Error ID: 6176 – InvalidOperationException: An unspecified error occurred on the render thread.
Cause: Suspect conflict with Video Card Driver (version unknown) on Windows XP.
Workaround: Turn down Hardware Accelleration on the Video Card
Error ID: 6216 – UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path ‘bookname.logos4’ is denied.
Cause: Corrupted file during Resource Discovery.
Workaround: Delete the file and rediscover from disc.
Error ID: 9834 – Error detail: FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly ‘Libronix.DigitalLibrary.Logos, Version=4.2.3.8750, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’ or one of its dependencies. This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
Cause: One or more files are not updated or did not update properly.
Solution: Reinstall the program and it should work fine
