New Features & Improvements for Subscribers

New Tab

We’ve reimagined the New Tab panel for the first time for Logos Desktop and our Logos Web App.

New Tab gives you faster, more flexible access to the tools and resources you use most. It helps you quickly switch between tools, filter results by reference, and access the right resources in just a few clicks.
- Everything View
  - Quickly access recently opened tools, documents, resources, and more! If you're launching it for the first time, you'll see a curated list of popular items, automatically replaced with your frequently used items over time as you use the app.
- Reference View
  - When a resource is open, the New Tab adapts to show relevant tools, workflows, guides, and books based on the active reference, so you’re always just a click away from what matters most to your current study.

Search

Updated all Smart Search options to exclude spell check because the AI is smarter than the spellchecker.
After running a precise search, clicking "Try Smart Search instead" will now immediately execute the search.

Other Improvements for All Users

Accessibility

Added accessibility support for resource content in macOS. This was already supported in Windows.

Account Menu

Removed the Your Faithlife Groups button from the Account menu.

Help Center

Help Center is now available to all users.

In-App Purchases

We’ve improved the ability to start a new subscription with as low friction as possible so we don’t disrupt the important work of Bible research or sermon prep, leaving you able to get right back into your workflow with new and better tools.

In-app links to acquire a subscription for a specific feature now open an in-app modal with subscription information.
The lowest subscription tier that contains the feature will be automatically suggested. For example, if you wanted to unlock the Bible Study Builder tool, the modal would suggest Logos Premium vs choosing Sermon Builder which would select Logos Pro. Credit cards and PayPal are both accepted for payment options.
Once subscribed you should see a banner indicating that a restart is required for all features to be available.
Available for all supported languages in Logos
In Verbum, the English Verbum subscriptions are suggested, regardless of UI language.

Factbook

Non-subscribers now see a preview of results for the People, Places and Things, Reported Speech and Featured Biblical Events sections.

Notes v1

It’s no longer possible to use the very old Notes Documents in Logos (these were deprecated in 2018 and only a handful of people still use them). All Notes Documents will be available in the standard Notes tool. For more information, see here.

Search

Updated the Free Preview in Smart Bible search to include the remaining number of smart searches left. Once the free uses are completed, the banner will update to provide direction to subscribe or switch to a Precise search.
The search query will now be included in the Search panel tab title.

Sermon Builder

Ability to add slides from selected references is restored. View discussion

Refer a Friend

Added a “Refer a Friend” link in the Account menu for users to earn credit through the Logos referral program.

Tweaks & Bug Fixes

Accessibility

Temporarily defaulting accessibility to off to fix a memory leak issue.

Atlas

Updated the Table of Contents caret icon to point downward correctly.

Application

Fixed an issue that caused the app to hang on shutdown.

Dynamic Toolbar

Selecting “Copy Link” from the Share tab will now correctly link to the selected resource.
Opening the “Step to unit" menu in the Resource toolbar (Step to previous/next article, chapter, note, etc.), will now update to the selected item.

Highlighting

Custom highlighting will no longer incorrectly change text color over chapter boundaries.

Passage List

The Bible reference in a Passage List will now be rendered using the verse map of the top selected Bible. View discussion.

Resource sidebar

When the Summarization or Insights sidebar is enabled, selecting resource text from the Selection or Context menu will no longer cause the sidebar to close after choosing Translate.

Resource panel

Fixed an issue that caused the app to hang when closing a Resource panel.

Search

Updated the Collection picker and Add Version picker to no longer include Bibles created as Personal Books.
The Morph type selector picker will no longer close when choosing a selection.
Choosing an "inline search" via Search Panel or Context menu will switch to the Dynamic Resource toolbar for the executed search option.
Performing an all search with an invalid data type will no longer crash the application.

Sermon Builder

Text in blocks is now excluded from sermon word count.
Non-questions are now excluded from the Questions view.
Notes are now inserted at the cursor position.
Hebrew text is now the same size as English in heading blocks.

Share Dialog

The Share dialog will stay in the background if another app or window comes to the foreground.

Unowned Book Preview

Collections containing the book being previewed are now sorted by dynamic pricing.
Reopening a locked/cloud resource no longer results in a blank panel.

Factbook

When working offline or using local data, results in the Systematic Theologies section will come from all possible downloaded resources, not only those corresponding to the UI language.
Sermons Archives subsection is correctly labelled when it has no licensed results.

Insights

Corrected the ordering of the Commentary and Study Bible cards in the related books section.
Insights now follows clicks of the cursor in desktop

macOS Bug Fixes

Banners

The application will no longer hang after closing the layout banner.

Book

When opening a book with Parallel Text and the Locator Bar turned on, he height of the locator bar and text color will now match.

Close All Shortcut

The application will no longer crash when numerous panels are opened and you click the shortcut to close them all. View discussion.

Search

When executing a Smart Bible search with precise syntax, the banner explaining you’ve been switched to precise search will be removed if you subsequently switch to a Grid or Analysis view.

Windows Bug Fixes

AI Usage Ring

When there is no AI usage, the usage ring should be hidden.

Search

The More dropdown button text will now be vertically aligned with the search tabs.

On Windows, various app features with spellcheck enabled, like Notes and Sermon Builder, may show a spelling error indicator without offering correction suggestions
