New Features & Improvements for Subscribers

Subscriber Badges

The desktop app has always displayed the user’s owned feature set and library in the About panel. We have made improvements to the About panel and are now displaying that license information more prominently in other parts of the app to make it easier to understand what features you have access to:
- On the app window title bar
- On the Dashboard
- In the Account avatar and menu
- Next to your avatar’s icon and menu.
  - A subscriber ring will also be added around your avatar’s icon.
Most users will fall under three states:
- If you have an active subscription or free trial, the app will display the name of the tier you’re subscribed to.
- If you have a feature set or base package from any earlier edition of Logos, the app will display Legacy Edition.
- If you have neither a subscription, nor a feature set/base package (though you may have purchased books), the app will display Free Edition
- Users on an academic subscription may see different values corresponding to their subscription.
Updated app version and library status badge styling.
Added a banner in the Account menu for free and legacy accounts that make it easy to learn more about Logos subscriptions.

Welcome Message

We’ll now show a welcome message the very first time a new user opens the desktop app, or when someone starts a subscription or free trial.

Factbook

The Counseling Guide has been replaced with a new Counseling lens in Factbook. All existing functionality has been maintained or enhanced. If you previously owned a license to the Counseling Guide, you’ll get that same functionality in the Counseling Lens.
If you don’t have a license to Counseling Guide (which also comes with Logos Pro or Max), the Counseling lens is still available to you, but some new functionality may be limited.
If you have a layout, bookmark, or shortcut to the Counseling Guide, Logos will open Factbook to the Counseling lens instead.
You can expect more lens specific results in Factbook reports.
Online Factbook reports now include suggested Layouts in the Dig Deeper section.

Auto-Update

You will now be notified when auto-updates have stopped due to an unsupported operating system.

Sermon Builder

Character limit for inline passage insertion is increased to prevent early truncation on longer passages.
The cursor is now moved to a new line after inserting a passage block.

Loading Spinners

Updated many loading spinners across the application for when large content areas need to be loaded. For example, print/export preview screen, public documents menu, Notes Filter, Sermon Assistant, Popular Quotes and Books Preview Window.

Bug Fixes

Spell check

You’ll now see spelling errors underlined in red, and clicking on them will suggest the correct spelling. View discussion.

About Panel

In the About panel the account name and links are now properly aligned with their corresponding items.

Application

The application will no longer crash if the login screen is left in the background and out of focus for over 5 minutes.

Copy Bible Verse

When running the application in Swedish UI, typing "P" in a another panel will no longer copy the current verse to the selected destination in the Copy Bible Verses tool. View discussion.

History Panel

Navigating to unlicensed resources no longer adds a blank item to the history panel.

Factbook

Reported speech no longer shows duplicated results.
You can now drag the book title links on additional Factbook results to open a new panel with that resource.

In-App Purchase

All sides of the In-App -Purchase dialog window are now draggable, this includes the space on top, sides, and bottom.
It is now possible to return from the Paypal checkout page to the in-app-purchase modal using the 'Cancel' button.
The application will no longer sometimes hang when buying a book through desktop in-app purchase.
Clicking "Retry" in the IAP when a network failure happens will no longer crash the app.
Dragging the IAP modal into another display will no longer cause the app to hang.

Reading Plan

Editing the details on a Reading Plan while being offline (e.g. "Starting Date") no longer crashes the Desktop app. The notification “This setting can’t be changed while offline” shows up instead.

Resource

The Start/Stop reading marker text will no longer be backwards in right-to-left resources.

Passage List

Pasting non-Latin scripts into a Passage List will now properly paste.

Resources

Apparatus links from NA28GBS will now correctly navigate to the correct verse. View discussion.

Search

Executing a Syntax search and hovering over the bible references in the results will no longer crash the application.
The Search tab title doesn't keep the search query as its title anymore and goes back to "Search" when the search query is cleared.

Sermon Builder

Sermon Builder will no longer crash when copy-paste from Bible Study Builder into a Sermon.
Entering a verse in the passages field without validation will now take the first result.
Default Heading is now added to Questions and Handouts.
“Undo” after a passage is inserted inline now removes the passage and retains the entire reference.

Splash Screen

Splash screen subscription tier text will now reflect your current subscription status after initial relaunch of Logos.
- The splash screen refers to the Logos screen that appears briefly before the application fully launches on your machine.

macOS Bug Fixes

Books

Cover images in the unlicensed books panel are now the correct size.

Drag and Drop

Dragging and dropping a single resource while holding the CMD key is now restored in the prioritization list.

Icons

Removed old icons across the application and updated them with our current icons on macOS.

Resource

Fixed a crash in Parallel Passages trying to display resources with missing data.
